Saying that they are better isn't really true. I used to have front and back hydraulic rim brakes (Magura HS33) but I recently got a set of good vee brakes and I would never go back to the Maguras. Depending on what you want from the brakes discs might be the best but its really just opinion. Disc brakes are more moduletable but don't have as good bite. Personally I would prefer hydraulic rim brakes to discs but thats just me. The things I don't like about discs are that if I don't make a sidehop I will land on the disc and probably bend it, I find them harder to set up and also in my opinion they are harder to set up and cost much more. EDIT: Where were you going to get it for £110 from? Also what version of the hope is it?
I find the easiest way is just to look at it. I loosen all the bolts, the I mover the piston to where I want it, then tighten the bottom bolt, then the top one
Do you mean that just now you have 2 bolt mounts and you want to somehow make them into 4 bolt mounts? EDIT:I was to slow ^^ Like he said vee brakes are the way or a good booster
Do the new olives fit on to the hose? If they do, depending on where the hose is snapped, you just have to cut off the old olive, put the new one on and tighten the shroud nut. I think...
20" isn't anything like riding a BMX and 26 isn't really anything like a mountain bike either. They feel completely different to ride. The best thing to do would be to have a go on other peoples bikes and see what you prefer. Trials bike mostly don't have gears. The standard gearing for a 26" is 18 teeth at the front and 15 at the back. For a 20" its 18-12.
I really depends more on the pads. Personally I think Avid Ultimate is way overpriced.. But i have never used them so I could be wrong. I ordered Shimano Deore vee's a couple of days ago. I got the calipers for both the front and back for £30. I haven't got them yet but they should be fine Does Ali C not use Shimano XT?
I think that 22 tooth is the smallest 5 bolt chainring you can get. << Just read your post again. maybe you can get them in 20 Never knew that before And also 22-18 is more or less the exact same as 18-15. << I'm quite sure about that though.
I have an Echo SL freewheel and have had it for about a month now. So far it has only skipped twice but thats because my chain was stupidly loose. I think they seem ok. And they sound amazing!!!
The one you posted a link to comes with vee brakes and 4 bolt mounts. If thats what you have I would suggest Magura HS33s or upgrading to some better vee brakes, cables and levers. But whatever you get make sure you get some good trials specific pads too
