  1. Maximum stock negative camber, not going for the vip level of camber, just enough to not look to out of place. Not getting extended bottom arms or anything like that. Not building the car to handle whatsoever, just to have a pretty low car again.
  2. Cheers, but it has to be lower, im aiming for this sort of height but with more negative camber Thats pretty much the limit for 8j wheels The thought of air ride keeps coming up....
  3. So coilovers went on last weekend, just been letting them settle and seeing what rubs and what needs to be modified The to do list is now Maximum camber with the standard adjusters, roll rear arches, grind chunks out the arch liners to clear as its scrubs on them on lock, fit exhaust (tomorrow) The coilovers, being TA's are really soft, like standard ride soft which i dont like at all. The car drives just as it did with the suspension before, although it has settled, its no where near low enough, so tomorrow going to wind down the backs more and probably the fronts after theyve been cambered, but i cant do much until my Nankangs arrive, went for 165/50 ns2's so that will drop it a lot more. Got a picture, the car is filthy from work, lots o filters applied to hide the fact, and from as low of an angle as possible to annoy me so i lower it more. dropped it from this
  4. Yup that was me! Just on the way back from Tamworth, the wheels do look rather shit at the moment Didnt know you was so close by.
  5. Turns out it was just the wings that had rot, where they touch the sill, rotten wings aint an mot fail, today the 50 shades of yellow spaceship passed!!!
  6. Everything was fine minus Failing due on a hole on the sill. Joy o joys.
  7. MX5 updateeeeeeeee MOT tomorrow so prep for that shit, rear spring snapped from a pothole the other day, turned out the coilovers i got also didnt fit, so after towing it about 3 miles to my mates driveway. Damage was mainly to the spat and also bent a drop link. Was saved by the guy i got the car off, and when i got there, he had just returned with another mx5 to break, with goodies on. Deal done for a powerflow exhaust, Ultralights 15x8 with fresh rubbers, shitty gearknob, and mk2 coilovers! With the droplink, the ARB isnt important, so thats been removed, if i get beached i need the car to have freedom to get grip anyway. Probably will end up removing the front one, depending on how it is under braking. Might go back on, but i very much doubt ill bother, car isnt going to handle at all anyway. (helper springs/bumpstops can get f**ked.) So today just stuck the wheels on, as i know the rubber is better than what is on it and gave it a little clean and service. Currently sat looking like its either on air or just silly wheels on a standard car. Coilys are on this weekend. At the moment it looks rather Shite. Wheels, exhaust and coilovers cost 250.... Going to get smaller tyres, thinking of 165/50/15 on 8j, its on 185/55's at the moment. I feel the MX5 people who like to wave at me, will be getting less as i hurt the purists emotions.
  8. thats not a bad price! Can it run google maps and how fast is the bluetooth on the units at initially connecting to your phone?
  9. Linky please^ Need one that runs at least marshmallow!
  10. The problem with smelling foods (especially from supermarkets) is all 'fresh' packaged meat smells off. Asda in my experience being the worst (for taste also). Sainsburys chicken always smells funky. Maybe my sense of smell is fooked.
  11. Will that also do chassis rails. (i can only wish)
  12. No i didnt want it as a fast car, but it feels slow, one thing i have noticed, it is very very planted, went for a late night drive and my god, it handles really well, the LSD feels just tight enough and the turn it and grip feels spot on. i had to fight with it to get the rear end to kick out, and my only real option is to hang off the (in need of adjustment) handbrake. But ill ruin that in good time, form over function and all that. Im sure purists will hate it, but there are many slammed mx5's, and that is a scene i kind of miss. If i ended up on the track in one... it would probably end up at that route, but the clio sort of had that in the bag. Im actually pretty amazed at how comfy they are too.
  13. Plan for today, put coil overs on, full detail on car. Ebay special Impact gun died after 3 years, so coilovers would of taken much longer than planned. Lost my liquid wax, so just cleaned, mopped, clayed, Krust'd the car. The rust on the sills, isnt bad at all. The chassis rail on the other hand needs to be done very soon. I can definatly see the appeal of the mx5, i really love driving it, although its slow as f**k. Nonetheless that will be ruined once its dropped. Bought the car from JunkYard Dogs, cant recommend him enough! and conveniently he is under 10 mins away so fresh parts for days! Got referbed front and rear arms on route shortly, and a new exhaust.
  14. There was a RS jap import there also, same age, but the jap one was a lot worse off. Think ill treat the sills to some anti rust stuff. and buy new rails in due time. Any way to avoid the sills rotting again?
  15. Right Picking up a mk2.5 mx5 arizona edition, yellow, 1.8 blah blah, hard top and coilys for a bit of extra dollar. Sills have been done before, but still need attention, and the chassis rail is due soon. Picking it up tomorrow £1010 for the car, roof and coilys
  16. Ifffffffffffff i was to look at a mk1 MX5, what should i be looking out for? Might have a 1.6 hardtop lined up. I want a car to drop to the ground with some pretty wheels. EDIT: or mk2/mk2.5 Going to look at 3 of them tomorrow, all need light welding on the arches, and have had the chassis rails done or are fine.
  17. Clio is gone. hurrah...i guess.
  18. http://www.cliosport.net/threads/bg-clio-ff182-67k-servicing-belts-dephaser-pump-proof-£1200-history-mot-lots-of-pics-video.806089/#post-11358565 https://www.facebook.com/groups/ClioSportOC/permalink/10154555840298517/?comment_id=10154555879858517&notif_t=group_comment&notif_id=1490785681720631 Well life is more important, Looking at buying a house, so got to get the credit rating tip top, using a modern shitbox to do so. Nail two birds i suppose. Tried to be open as possible with absolutely everything i could think of.
  19. Need to buy a new lambda sensor, but the decat pipe is now on, the cat bolts are now secure, and it has an amazing seal. Waiting for the loss of power at low end until the sensor arrives! Is Prawn and his s3 still about, purely out of curiosity!
  20. Always wanted a Bentley Turbo R, come into owning a 182, as it was for sale, the day i didnt have a car by a good friend. Or did you mean regarding Dans comment? I wasnt going to mention anything about dans car? Ill post the comment, to stop any misconception to what i meant. The comment was: The exhaust mounts have all been changed. Every bushing and bearing on the rear has been changed, the rear end was nearly falling off when i got the car. I read that article, and honestly, there is a few stories going about related to that, some say air con gas, some say exhaust, some say some other shit reading the comments. Exhaust gas, personally, would be obvious it was f**king you up, the smell, the stinging of the eyes, the headache, everything should of been warning signs to them, but i was not there, so cannot put myself in that situation, i am just talking from previous experience. The manifold to cat fitting kit i have are two genuine Renault ones, and a shitty NWP one, i ordered one through NWP, got inpatient and then went to renault, ordered one, didnt want to wait two days so went with a Renault master tech mate, to the workshop to get one. So the kit is good, and i have two spare, thats not the issue. I think that maybe the cat is not genuine, maybe you could clear this up for me, the manifold has the washers to keep the bolt inline, but there is just the 'c' section on the cat, imo should these not be a 'o', dont know how else to say what i mean. So the bolts, can move outwards, like they have. Unfortunately, some bodges have to happen, i am nearly out of debt, so all priorities are on that, so do what i can when needs must. Wipers were siezed, sorted. Wiper motor assembly f**ked up, got a new one. Starter was having issues, 2 new starter motors later, issue gone. Car was letting water in, blocked off hole, took all the interior out to dry for a few weeks. Horn died due to shorting out and frying wires, wired(badly but sufficiently) a horn in for the MOT, new squib on the way to see if that resolves the issue. Lights died, brand new ballasts and igniter box things,. Rear end bushings/bearings were done by a local mechanic. ( the subframe was literally holding on by completely worn out bushings)
  21. Ironically it stayed on my phone. I went into detail about the exhaust and the only bodge that is on the car, whats been done to it. Long, pointless, a bit edgy because i dared to question the death of those two in relation to exhaust gases, and a genuine question, as you also have a 182. But its not worth getting into really.
  22. Wrote a long comment. But deleted it. So Okay.
  23. Clio passed its mot.... Thank f**k Now the cat to manifold bolts have decided they want to twist, almost to the point of falling off. Going to jubilee clip the whole thing in attempt to keep them in place, i now understand why there was a metal wire wrapping the bolts tight, there when i bought the car... If i sell it, im getting either a Bentley Turbo R or Chaser jzx100. Bentley would require finance.
  24. Need some help and advice as i am a genuine mong in life. Wired in a simple single horn into the clio, used thick 30amp(iirc) wireing found a beefy (30a) switch. But my concern is will it drain the battery overnight? My simple wiring is relayless, and ive gone from the positive, to the switch, to a inline fuse (5a), to the horn, so the negative terminal. Will it drain the battery or not? The horn works a treat and is nice and loud, no warm wiring or anything, also with the car not running. EDIT:literally just for the mot, then i dont care if it comes out or not.
