  1. I set a reminder to watch it last night at 10:40 as some kid said it would be on the 12th of August... Making another one now...

    Trial Bikes

Whichever one you like most. Personally, my favorites are Koxx, Zoo and Czar. Koxx is a very expensive but good brand. Zoo and Czar are expensive-ish, but they have amazing bikes for street riding. Onza do good beginner bike combos, and a couple of really good frames, like the 320, Ice and Skull.

    Wheel Sizes

Good luck! The learning curve is a bit steeper on stocks I believe, but they're still just as good.
  4. Higher rise means easier to lift the front wheel up, and you're in more of a standing position. Can't remember the disadvantages or advantages of low rise though... And the longer the length the easier it is to control, I believe? P.S. If you have a bad back, don't strain yourself too much doing trials, it'll just make it worse.

    Brakeless Mod

Woah, he's mental. How the hell does he do gaps and pedal ups like that without brakes... And you guys, I don't understand why there's such a big discussion between Mods and Stocks. From my point of view, Mods have smaller wheels and stocks have bigger wheels, ride whichever one you prefer. End of.
  6. Haha that put some sense into me, I might consider getting some longer cranks then. Are Middleburns any good? And how will crank size affect my riding? There's 160mm, 165, 170 and 175... That's 2 whole CM's of difference to choose from.
  7. I'm deaf and when I don't wear my hearing aids I can't hear anything at all, I ride a track bike with a fixed wheel and one brake to and from places. I zoom through red lights and ride in the middle of the road to get through traffic, never been a problem. Just make sure you always look ahead 2 or 3 cars when riding. Often the accidents happen ahead and if you don't see them, you won't have time to stop. Two stupid girls crossed the road once without looking, I had to lock my rear wheel (using my legs) and skid round them. F*cking b*tches, they just laughed. I could've easily crashed into them and they'd easily have a broken arm from a 30Mph collision. Another thing you need to watch out for, is drivers not looking in the left hand mirror when they turn off. They will force you to either go into the side of their vehicle, or go round the corner with them... My bike:
  8. Edit: Lol'd, the guy at 0:24 seconds on the green bike. Look at his face as the trials rider goes past.
  9. Ah I see now... Was half expecting you or Mark to reply, cheers! Will be trying to fit a ring on anyway.
  10. Damn! Why would they be any different? That's silly...

    Brakeless Mod

I guess so, good point there. And haha I didn't know that, I always thought bigger wheels was cheating as they're already higher up when they need to get up an obstacle. Haha, I can't bear riding a stock for more than 5 minutes, that was over a year ago though. Need to try one out again. Ohh, I didn't realize. :$ Hmm, true the front wheel does feel a long way away, but I quite like that- I feel more comfortable doing wheelswaps on them (well practicing them, I'm nearly getting the hang of it). I agree that 24" bikes do feel more like a proper bike, but I always think of Mods as a purebred trials bike and a stock seems more like a converted mountain bike (but I have nothing against stocks ).

    Wheel Sizes

    http://www.tartybikes.co.uk/media/guides/product_guide_20_inch_vs_24_inch_vs_26_inch_wheels/m8.html ^ There you go.
  13. Checked the cranked today and they are 165mm. I believe so yes, he took a picture of my Koxx in the same place as that one. Why? So why would you have problems with shorter cranks? It's not like they're wider...

    Side Hopping

I tried breathing out while sidehopping today and it helped, didn't go far as doing silly noises though.

    Brakeless Mod

I saw your brakeless videos when looking through Youtube, pretty damn impressive Skoze, whats wrong with Mods? I used to want to ride 24" but they're damn expensive.
  16. If the chap with an orange Magura has a Royal Blood bleed that works perfectly fine, there's no point changing to water. However, on my previous bike I always had a Royal Blood bleed (I tried out a water bleed but it never seemed to work) and it worked fine. On my new Koxx, it has a water bleed and is so so much better. Such a nicer feel when using the brake, it shouldn't matter what skill level you are... You should always go for the best performance if you can, because it makes you learn how to do trials-oriented moves much quicker.
  17. I think I half understand now, I believe they're 165 but not sure. Will update with this later!

    New Tnn Be-Green Pads

I was with a guy the other day, he's sponsored by Tnn and he says that he prefers his Heatsink yellows over the Tnn Be-Green pads...
  19. I know very little about Zoot's, but I do know that you won't be needing to upgrade anything for a good 3-4 months if you're a beginner. Check out www.trashzen.com it's brilliant for learning moves.
  20. Slide the bashring onto the cranks? I'm pretty sure that cranks don't have any thread except internal thread to go onto the BB, you mean take the cranks off then put the bashring on, then put the cranks back on? Sorry for my confusion, I'm trying to figure out how to do this. I also heard FFW's are a pain to get off.

    Brakeless Mod

So brakeless 24" bike's aren't wrong? I've yet to see brakeless stocks... Edit: Oh wait!

    Koxx Snappage

Ohh, so it already had a crack in it, I see. I was worried because I just got a Koxx XTP Short Mod, and scared of snapping/cracking it...
