  1. I use these cranks, http://www.tartybikes.co.uk/cranks_pair/tryall_isis/c514p52.html This freewheel, http://www.tartybikes.co.uk/complete_freewheels/tryall_1089/c16p2035.html Edit: And this is the bashring, http://www.selectbikes.com/index.php?act=viewProd&productId=21 Edit2: I think this is the BB, not sure which size. http://www.tartybikes.co.uk/isis_splined_bbs/tryall_isis_with_bolts/c2p10.html Will I be able to do it? And how could I put the bashring on? At the moment it's just the freewheel & cranks on my isis bb. Help would be MUCH appreciated!

    Brakeless Mod

How the hell does that guy do it, he rides brakeless like he has brakes...
  3. WOW votes are certainly in favour for the bashring and for taking the bashplate off. Worried about grinding the mounts & dents though. Because, if I hit a single bash mount hard, it would slowly push the welds into the frame and eventually crack. First two bikes I had, I rode with bashplates, I rode my Czar without and got on fine (I used the bash ring if I ever needed to) and I became much smoother at riding. Now, with this bike. I'm afraid to even hit the bashplate... :/ And Liam, it's wherever the guy from eBay lives haha, I'm jealous too. I really should have picked the bike up shouldn't I?! I have his address though.
  4. Fuuuu... Get better soon man, I always thought shin pads would be enough for me. Looks like it's not... Where did you hit your knee?

    Czar Mod

This bike was posted 2 years ago, I'm sure it's mashed to pieces now. Mounts : http://www.tartybikes.co.uk/brake_clamps/magura_hs33_4bolt_brake_clamps/c74p26.html
  6. Looks reeaaaally short. Colours look a bit odd, hope the ride makes up for it.
  7. Drill holes in the rim walls if you're going that extreme, and run slick tyres. Good luck!

I'm back after a while, and I'm back on brakes again. I've changed my mind, brakes are more fun.
  9. And your signature says this? "Don't aim for success if you want it; just do what you love and believe in, and it will come naturally."
  10. Wow only 4, I've had 4 in 2 years of riding on and off. That sounds like an amazing way to spend the day, seems like you do "xc trials", but yeah the internet was a problem back then for you. There must have been trials competitions for you to meet people though? I'd hate riding in the wet, but sounds like a laugh where you're doing it. I assume you're using a stock.
  11. http://www.tartybikes.co.uk/caged_pedals/echo_tr_caged/c149p11193.html ^ I ride with these, very comfortable and grippy. Or these if you want to replace them easier http://www.tartybikes.co.uk/caged_pedals/rockman_single_caged/c149p11272.html http://www.tartybikes.co.uk/pedal_spares/rockman_7075_pedal_cages/c151p11273.html
  12. Good idea, it would need to be clipped to the frame though (as said in above posts) but it would be flexy as hell, you'd need a strong booster. Personally I'd stick to disk if I had a disk only frame, if you want magura, get a magura compatible frame...
  13. Did you not grind the plate mounts off? And yesss, ride 'til it dies. I'm just a bit protective of this bike as I just got it hah, and got told it's not easy to get another frame of the same kind... I hardly ever go to bash, I avoid it at all/any costs. I sidehop on the drivechain side (to the right) but I also do it to the left, I'm practising that but I'm not as confident that way. What do you mean by "is the bike worth it after all?" Hmm, seems like from the poll results, it's 4 votes on bashring, and 4 votes on getting the bashplate grinded off.

    Trial Bikes

Cheapest 'street' 24" you're going to get. http://www.tartybikes.co.uk/24_inch_trials_bikes/onza_zoot_2010/c50p11230.html
  15. Hmm true Martin, I really don't know what to do in this case. Might leave it and get put my bashring on to have bashplate & bashring. I'm mainly bothered about the frames strengths, I got told if the bashplates get hit often enough- the welds can go into the frame and cause more problems than if you don't have a plate. And I also got told that plates were for competition trials mainly, I ride 97.5% street and only hit the bashplate/downtube if I slip on the rear wheel when gapping, or riding up a wall. Edit: I do my sidehops on the chain drive side and, I'll definitely need a bash ring for that...
  16. I prefer the front freewheel on my bike compared to a profile mini, the gear ratio is smaller like 18-16 vs 22-19. It's all personal preference, which you prefer, and how much money you've got.
  17. I just bought a new Koxx XTP, and I went on a ride today. One of the riders- Josh, said that I should get a bashring, ditch the bashplate, and grind the mounts off. Who thinks this is a good idea? Apparently it's much better for the bike to be hit on the frame where the bashplate area is, than hit the bashplate (because it is more partial to cracks and snaps with a bashplate). What's your opinion? Edit: Koxx XTP frame pictures below,
  18. And it rides as good as it looks! I went on a ride on it today, was suuuuper lush, loved it!
  19. Yes... That reminds me. I had an poetry thread on a different forum, people took poetry from the worlds famous poets and claimed it as their own. Yes... That reminds me. I had an poetry thread on a different forum, people took poetry from the worlds famous poets and claimed it as their own.
  20. Cheers man that makes me feel that little bit better about the purchase.
  21. Wow ^ that was well worth the read, you started learning in 1988- talk about old school. How many *proper* trials bikes have you had in 20+ years then? Edit: added "proper"
  22. I have a garage but it's got 15 bikes in it, I've already got 2 bikes in the house. I need more bike space!
