  1. Not really new to it myself, used to ride years ago and started again before christmas but still on for learning stuff to front wheel and sidehops.
  2. Anyone ridden a Born Ultimatum? I'm in the same boat here and looking at getting a new frame over christmas and looking at either the Born, Neon Bow 2.5 or FANS. Coming from an 06 Control so I know it's going to be very different to ride but I just don't feel right yet so thought I'd go for a hike in BB heights. Gonna hopefully have a feel of a few different geo frames soon so I'm more in the know of what I'm after but thought I'd see if there were any opinions on these. I've still got a lot to learn yet but I'm looking at doing comps on it next year and just general bits of street and the like. PS. Sorry to jump in on your thread but it saves me making another identical one!
  3. Thats a hell of a lot more to ride than where I live, you should be grateful!!
  4. Only problem there is I've been told the RB levers leak with a water bleed?? May have to stick with the standard hoses then, would have liked braided but can't afford a full magura kit!
  5. That should be alright then, gonna take it off to bleed anyway as I need to give it a good flush out to clear all the water in there!
  6. Right I should have my RB Designs lever arrive today and I plan to stick it on my mod as the current lever has been modified cause of the dreaded 05 crack. My plan is to get a rear braided hose set from Rock n Roll but I just wanted to check if fitting it is straightforward? Also as it is currently water bled I'll have to swap to an oil bleed cause of the lever so what bits will I need to bleed it, just some tube, a barbed fitting and a syringe?? Never bled a maggie with oil before so I wanna check I've got everything I need before I start!
  7. First things first, for a case just go with any silicone one as I find they tend to be the best and least bulky, as for the screen I've had my iphone 3g for over a year now and with a poorer quality screen I've not manged to scratch it even when it's been dropped outside and just generally thrown about. Jailbreaking is easily reversed, just by restoring the phone with itunes and you can still back it up when it's jailbroken so no worries there. Not sure about the sms but I'd imagine it's definately possible, there must be a forum somewhere with instructions on it and there is definately an alarm clock, it's just in the standard clock function and works perfectly well with a snooze function as well! Hope this helps you out a bit.
  8. I tried some inspired lock ons but wasn't impressed. They wore down to the plastic underneath very quickly, within about 2 months, and I couldn't get them done up tight enough either to not spin round. I just stick with some good old cheap ass echo rubber ones for now.
  9. I'll go one better than that, Dirt with Jason McRoy!
  10. They do take a bit of your time, but it's also the reason why I had my son on a balance bike at 2. When he gets a proper bike he'll be an animal on it, already likes to try and jump up walls!

  11. Yeah acid is pretty pricey if you, ahem, pay for it but ejay can be picked up dirt cheap. Think a few years ago I got I think it was dance ejay 5 or 6 with a disc of thousands of samples for about a fiver from game. Have a look on ebay or amazon and see what there is. http://www.ejay-store.co.uk/catalog.html?pCatId=2735
  12. It's the way forward, got my son a balance bike shortly after his 2nd birthday and I'm now looking at sorting him something with pedals and brakes after christmas. Gutted I can't get him a proper trials bike till he's at least 4-5 though!
  13. How long do the trials usually last as I want to enter but going to be a 2hr journey home and I've got to be at work for 18.45. Probably have loads of time but just want to be sure before I get signed up as I don't want to have to leave early and not get finished!
  14. Yeah that's about right, get your balance sorted both on 2 wheels and on the back wheel and you'll have a good base to start from. I've not got round to it yet but if you can try and get hold of some blue Euro pallets, maybe 6 or 7, to practice sidehopping up and stuff. Always useful for just messing round at home with if you haven't got time to go out anywhere!
  15. Will just have to see what happens then, my Mrs is 37wks pregnant today so the potential for group rides before the new year is slowly dissappearing for me but will try my best to get out. Wouldn't be too bad if I could run her down with her sister and let them go shopping whilst I ride!
  16. Sent john another email to remind him yesterday as never heard back but I know he's had a lot on, having to go down south to cover the release of a new Bultaco I think it was, but I'm staying positive. Sadly won't be able to make this Saturday now for a number of reasons but I'll definately be over the week after. Still 50/50 about entering Sunday as I start nights at 18.45 Sunday evening so not sure if I'll be back in time to get sorted or not, will bear it in mind though and may chance the Intermediate as thats what I used to ride years ago. Just don't know what to expect though if I do enter as it's been a good 10 years since I last competed!
  17. Seen a couple but not sure if they'd be any good. http://cgi.ebay.co.u...e=STRK:MEWAX:IT http://cgi.ebay.co.u...e=STRK:MEWAX:IT http://cgi.ebay.co.u...e=STRK:MEWAX:IT Just currently scanning wiggle and chain reaction though! EDIT: Just been on Chain Reaction and picked up an Evoc CC 16l bag for £52, that should do the job I reckon!
  18. You boys be out a week on saturday (23rd)?? Will definately be making a visit then!
  19. Seen as I plan on getting out a lot more from now on I'm gonna need a decent small bag to stick some bits in. Currently I've got a massive old Animal one which is far too big as at the most I'll be carrying some tools (multitool, chaintool, crank remover, maybe BB tool) a spare tube, small pump and maybe a spare t shirt and just want something small that won't flap about too much. Any recommendations?
  20. Thats what I used to play around on, started with Music years ago, went through the others and moved on to ejay and acid but sadly I haven't got the time for it anymore. Would love to have a good 9-10hr session knocking something together but sadly that kind of freetime is long gone!!
  21. Whoa whoa don't forget Chainspotting!!
  22. To be honest I wanted and still would like to be a senior member. When I read the thing about how people sometimes get voted in for it for the quality of their posts, help they give and general attitude I did actually hope that people would notice my posts and have tried up until this day to remain what I think is a good quality member worthy of the position. And if having something to do with comps and helping out with things is part of that then I'm really hoping I get this Trial Mag thing sorted as I believe this would also help my bid to be a SM. I know I'll probably get some abuse for openly admitting this but to be honest it's the truth. The main problem I have is I don't really know anyone properly on here, but I plan to change that very soon as I'm gonna start getting to some group rides and comps. Hopefully get to Shipley to watch next week and then going to try for a full season next year and really push myself so if you get someone random bloke speaking to you next week, it'll probably be me!
  23. The roaches?? Don't know that one, you'll have to enlighten me! And I plan on getting out to hathersage sometime soon!
  24. I'm in exactly the same situation, married with a young son and another on the way and I only manage a few hours a week if I'm lucky. But I've picked up quite a bit in those few hours, just try an get some spare time to get out with some better riders who can give you advice and when you get your odd hour here and there really go for it!
