  1. a good old vice but another concern, the top cup came out the frame with ease and we could push the new cup back in by hand dont think my headtube is flaired as we used the correct tools to take them out and i have noticed that my top cup has actually rotated walst in the frame, whats going on ? i thought it was just the rubbish build quality from diamondback as my hole back end is off centre aswell, i havnt even had a bad bail or hit the back hard chris
  2. im running 18-14 i absoluely love it i know its already been said but a free hub (pro 2) would give you alot more options with your gear choice but its quit alot of money and yeah, inspired do a 23t chain ring and bash but its screw on i think, not sure though, double check with someone or simply have a look on tarty bikes chris
  3. the headset wasnt brand new, it was second hand. would it still have to bed in ?
  4. im jelous had a chance to ride it yet ? chris
  5. got some inspired forks not long ago, put them on etc. tightened them up and after 10 mins of riding they had come loose, got a new headset and it still does it, so put some locktight on the threads and cant get it undone but has still somehow managed to loosen its self off any idea whats going on ? chris
  6. maybe it has vertical drop outs ? and its not called a 'stock chain tensioner' its just a sprung chain tensioner and if he likes his bars like that then he can keep them like that, dosnt have to change the angle of them, its all down to personal preferance but some riders do prefer there bars lent slightly more forward but good riding how long have you been doing trials ? chris
  7. on the edge of perth in australia i live near swindon haha wasnt on my bike though wish it was but where some real nice skate parks chris
  8. great riding, enjoyed that make a longer one chris
  9. looks great what happened to your effect frame ? and what do these ride like in comparison ? chris
  10. no, the wheel is square in the frame. i know hangers are ment to snap if you hit them but not as easy as these snapped, had never snapped a hanger before i got the effect and hope so it isnt the headset, was like it with a standard fsa pig in there aswell.
  11. it is a nice bike but not to keen on the looks of that tyre and yeah, i agree. eeeeew, gears haha chris
  12. where can i find echos disk brakes ? they look spot on and the bike looks good chris
  13. i am using heatsink coast pads on a smooth rim with tar at the moment and works very well and works even better on a grind by all accounts if you can get hold of any heatsink honig pads there very good on a smooth rim, i used these a while ago now on a maggy and they where amazing, little bit of tar gives it nice bite and they have very good hold but hard to come across as heatsink dont make the compound any more i havnt realy got much exsperiance with pads but on the forum theres a pad review section, have a look in there and for your wheels, if it isnt very bad then take it to a bike shop and ask them to true it up for you and if they cant then new rims i guess chris
  14. haha, i might do soon, got someone intrested in my forks so might be able to afford it will let you know and have i already spoke to you about your frame ? the black and white one ? chris
  15. so its a bad idea ? even for 24" very bmxy trials ? haha
  16. all chains have it i think its usually on the drive spot, put the cranks flat with the pedal you face forward when you ride facing forward and then that should be the slacker spot. its just from where you use that foot when you pedal hop and put more force through the chain so it stretches it that spot. If it isnt this then i dont know what it is listen from about 40 seconds in http://www.tartybikes.co.uk/media/guides/maintenance_snail_cam_setup/m5.html chris
  17. the chainstay isnt that long i dont think its spins quit nicely
  18. the drop outs arnt straight so have to run evo1 adapters over evo 2 as it rubs on one side, mech hangers snap very easy, top cup holder on headtube is to big and the cup has actually turned around and no i havnt flaired it because it was like that when i got it brand new. its a shame of these faults because its a realy nice riding frame chris
  19. i guess i should make a wanted thread when i have some money then haha thanks for your help everyone, much apreciated. so 180 rotor with a hope tech or bb7? and any other options ? chris
  20. getting bored and fed up of the build quality of my effect frame and have a 05 dmr rhythm frame just sat there, wondering if anyone knows what the geomatry is of them and if i could run inspired forks in it ? chris
  21. have an effect frame and have run magura on there for a while after running a v, real good performance but just a pain in the arse to set up as i have to use evo adapter. the v worked well but i bought one not long ago and got ripped off as the pins on the calipers where bent which has resulted in one of them snapping so i cant use that until i get a new pin so just wondering realy what a disk is like on the rear ? surely they cant be bad as inspired fourplays come standard with them ? thanks chris
  22. absolutely nuts! did you smack your head on your stem when you did that drop gap across the flower beds ? looked like it realy hurt! chris
  23. why isnt chris akrigg as popular as danny macaskil, ali c etc. ? he is just as good i have been on this forum for about a year now and this is the first post i have seen about him, absolutely amzing video, music was a bit annoying and repetitive but his riding is so good great find chris
