  1. If you cant trackstand with the wheel turned either way, and with either foot forward preferably brakeless almost infinitely, you have no business being on the back wheel. i.e. learn to trackstand all those ways before even attempting things on the back, and you'll have NO PROBLEM learning anything on the back wheel. People get too anxious and get these horrible habits. It's much more fun if you hold off for awhile to get your balance down, because then everything comes so much easier.
  2. Is this your first bike? What are you coming off of? Those are probably the most important questions, because if the answer to the first question is "This is my first real trials frame", then it cancels out the 2nd question. You honestly won't benefit from either frames geo over the other if it is your first real frame.
  3. Good headsets last forever. When you have holes drilled in your headtube though, a shit headset is fine. Drilled headtubes KILL headsets. Dirt is coming in from a place where headsets weren't designed to combat against.
  4. Trust me, if you learn that way I posted above, you'll be SUPER comfy on rocks. And pretty much any position won't feel super awkward. Especially if you practice both feet forward regularly. I didn't mess with anything on the back wheel for the 1st month I got my bike. At all. When I did, everything came really quickly because my balance was much better because of it. I was able to pedal kick roughly 4 feet within a week. After that however, everything else is fair game.
  5. right. Trackstand with the wheel both ways. Then learn both feet forward. Then learn without brakes. Be able to hold it all ways pretty much infinitely. Ride on parking blocks and get balance DIALED. THEN learn to get on your rear wheel. If you can be patient, when you finally do start learning to do things on your rear, it comes TONS TONS easier.
