  1. Hi everyone, I recently heard this tune on Kranked 7 and it reminded me of the MTB films of yesteryear when it was skater-punk as the soundtrack of choice. Reminded me of the soundtrack of a BMX film called The Wheel Deal that had the best soundtrack ever! It's really hard to get hold of but I managed to find it yesterday after 10 years of looking. What has been your favourite tune/soundtrack?
  2. Argh, these brakes are doing my head in! I get them perfect but as soon as I nip the top bolt up they just go completely to cock again and dn't hit the pad evenly and the distance away from the rim gets messed up...there must be an easier way! Practice?
  3. Cool - 5 mins down the road! There isn't much to ride in the forest other than some logs that have been felled...it is mostly quite sandy.
  4. Good to know that it clearly didn't hamper you Ali!
  5. Oh cool, Whereabouts are you staying? On a different subject I managed to find a free solution to my damaged lever so I won't need to buy that hs33 from you - sorry, hope that's ok?
  6. Hi everyone, is there much of a trials following on Anglesey or in Gwynedd, North Wales? I am fairly new to the area so do not know of any good locations and also ride alone which isn't really helping me progress skill wise. I am coming back to trials after a 12 years gap so I am not brilliant at trials by any means but easy enough to get on with! Thanks in advance Chris
  7. Thanks Adam, yeah I watched your guide ages ago, you made it look easy so needless to say I felt a bit of a failure 3 hours later after lots off huffing and puffing and rude words!
  8. Thanks for this, it is kind of what I have been doing and all of the fiddling is getting the correct distance from the rim...maybe I'm being too heavy handed...or just losing my patience which doesn't help. I shall continue to plod along and keep trying. I have found a bit of a solution, stick a metal ruler in between the pad and the rim, push the pads right up to the ruler, tighten all bolts and remove the ruler which seems to work a bit better. It seems to be harder to set up the rear brake with the booster though.
  9. Hi everyone, is there a quick and easy way to set up HS33's? By set up I mean set the pads up to the rim. I have spent the best part of 3 hours fiddling and not getting them perfect - they are either miles away or too close. I've watched the guide on Tarty but when I push them against the rim and pull the lever a bit they just don't move. Any tips gratefully received but I suppose it is all good practice....but I'm not the most patient of people )
  10. At the risk of asking a stupid question why do you call them death chains? I'm new to trials and the bike I have bought has one of these on (half link chains are they called?), should I be replacing it? Sorry to deviate from the topic slightly!
  11. No not particularly flexible but I just don't feel like my fingers are strong enough to hold the brake/pull it to lock ut up with 1 finger...basically it comes down to the confidence and feeling stronger using 2 fingers...maybe I need to review my brake set up?
  12. Cool thanks for the help, its pedal hopping that is giving me most problems learning so I might just try setting up the rear brake for 1 finger for the time being...it just feels odd, after years of riding downhill and XC (and dabbling in trials) with 2 fingers it feels so un-natural!
  13. Hi everyone, just out of interest, does anyone else find it easier to use 2 fingers on the brakes rather than 1? I can see the advanctage of 1 but I just cannot get used to it and find it very difficult to get the same amount of strength when using 1. Does anyone know if this will hamper my progression with more difficult trials moves or if it is just down to personal preference and makes no difference at all. Thanks in advance Chris
  14. Very nice... Is it still that sparkly and clean lol
  15. Very nice... Love the bars
  16. I agree just don't over think it and try snd relax...this and plenty of practice....ooh and I find listening to an ipod helps to relax me stick at it!
  17. Sorry got confused and thought it was a thread about arranging a ride so didn't read on
  18. Sorry to be basic but what is switching???
  19. I'm really up for this now! Job for the weekend!
  20. Hi sorry just seen your reply to my post about the HS33...I've managed to locate one and sorry for not replying to your offer.

I have used my 5 posts for the day so can't reply to the original thread.

    Thanks again

    Chris

  21. Hey thanks for that..I'll give it a try its just pretty daunting! Where do you get tar from? How do you apply it?

  22. Good idea, I'll have a root around at the local tip to try and get some old wheels to try out first. I'm only a beginner really so I'm sure I should be mastering other techniques before worrying too much about this. Is the monty brake spray any good as an alternative? Anyone got any feedback on it?
