  1. well no one seemed to knwo so i done it and it worked thought some people might want to know and not be grump old gits yeah it was the echo internal one i got it from select i think it works on any BB that doesnt have a flange on the non drive side shell but i could be wrong i was just worryed about the way the axel was centred but it seems fine to me. ben
  2. right i tryed it and it does work for future refrence for any one seems fine to me doesnt look so pritty but should b as strong and i mean not many peopl go round staring at your bottom bracket
  3. im pritty sure that onza ronnies (undrilled) are the same as the alex dx32 just with eyelets arnt they im nto a lover of the koxx rims they are quite a soft alu and dont hold the old grinds for so long i do like the onza ronnie on my second one now and to me its aboutt he same as a BMF wich seems pritty nice i have heard good things about the echo rims but i think there a little over priced could i ask one thing of you all dont tell people a part is crap anless youv ridden it your self and if you did break it because u put it together wrong or crashed in some highly amusing manner that doesnt make it a bad part ben,
  4. what i do as soon as i get one is lock tight them all u have to do is if its on a crank (like yours is) pop the crank off unscrew the freewheel over an ice cream tub orsomthing incase the bearings all fall out (i take mine right apart and change the grease seems to stop a lot of the skipping i use carbon grease froma car shop its made for CV joints) any way de grease all the treads ull probly knock some bearings out just stick them back in then put osme lock tight or somthing alike on it tighten it back up like really nice and tight then let it all set and bobs your fathers brother no more messing with screw drivers on rides still might well want to keep an eye on it mind. ben
  5. looks ok but id like to see some more cnc to be honest to me it shows more effort on the making side fo it if that makes any sence reminds me a lot of the level boos i quite like it but its not realy my sort of thing its what it rides like realy though if its fun and stiff and lasts a while its awsome
  6. sounds a bit lieka mech problem to me are you sure your limit screws are set right? that could be the problem or you could just barrel shift that miht solve it and be a bit lighter if your that sort of person
  7. right iv just got an ashton and i havnt had chance to ride it as it needs a monster sized bb axel i was wondering if any one had used the echo isis BB (68mm shell) in a 73mm shelled frame now the one im looking at has no flandge on the non-drive side so it should screw in antill it meets the bbs shell but i was wondering if that would leave enough axle on the left hand side i mean the axels the same lenght i know i was just wondering if it might be centered diffrently if that makes sence well any help would be great thanks a lot ben,
  8. you dont with petrol and the oil will stay on with white spirit as its..oil lol trust me white spirit and breaks are a no no
  9. yeah that will do it petrols made form crewd oil but its not oil based ha ha and it all evaporates off wherre as white spirit doesnt im not havign a go or any thing just didnt want oil getting in the lads pads. ben
  10. its gonan get in the way i recon to be honest i mean i can see where your comming from but i wouldnt want one realy ben
  11. DO NOT USE WHITE SPIRIT its oil based and leaves a resadue use your friend petrol it all evaprates off and takes any oil or coke with it and discs dont tend to be as sharp as they sort of flex with the spokes and things wich in a way seems to make them work better as they twist on if you understand what i mean makes sence to me any way good luck (to bed it in just drag the break for a good while get him nice and toasty)

    Nas

nass was awsome but as theres no camping or public trials riding its going to kill it for me iv been before and honestly it was the best time fo the year always looked forward to it i was gutted when i found out there was no camping or riding i think they have lost what nass was all about well thats my thoughts any way. ben.
  13. Thanks for all the help ill have to ride sombodys some time to really know i want to know what it would feel like for more "pure" trials riding the weights not a that bigger issue for me but again thanks every one for the help best get saving some pennies up. Ben.
  14. yeah i'm planning on it as soon as i'm on a ride with one i always feel a fool doing that though is it nice for taps and statics even though its quite short?
  15. do you have any videos or anything so i can get a feel for your riding style and stuff as i don't normally buy new frames so it best be like spot on basically thanks for the help and the speedy reply ill go and have a look at the pictures
  16. right iv got a job at last and iv been interested in this new Ashton about it looks like it rides really nice and it look s like it has most of the advantages of a long and a short bike looks flcikable but theres still space from what i understand the wheel base is fairly short but the reach is quite high as well about the same as a control i was wondering what it rode like if any have been broken yet if theres any thing to watch out for (Bottom Bracket size if you know it) thanks for any help ben
  17. water wont go much thinner when its hot but when it freezes thats the problem the heat means your pads often have a better hold and i know this is being silly but i think you me the viscosity of the liquid as thats how runny it is but yes as liquids heat up they become less dense as there taking up less area sorry i knew what you meant and i'm just being a fool
  18. doing lines of tar is for people that need to waste time putting tar on (just rub it on like lightly well the wheels spinning like 10 times easyer) yeah its ok but you get no real modulation its really good for a quick fix but a nice grind some good pads (CRMS) set up nice to the rim and you really shouldn't need tar. i find even if you use a tiny bit it will stick a little more wick just fells dirty. ben.
  19. and he wants to ride swindon can sombody help him and when they do can i tag along i cant rember the spots was sooo long when i last went. ben
  20. i would go for an onza ronnie my self koxx rims are made of a really soft metal which doesn't seem to like holding grinds and the breaks generally weak and from what i understand (i'm not sure if its right.) the onza hog rim is basically a koxx rim i'm on my second ronnie now seems pretty much identical to the BMF iv gone for undrilled also if you do get a drilled ronnie you might want to sand off the burs gave me a puncture or two to start with hope some of that was helpful ben
  21. i tend to find that my water bleed gives me a little less in the way of sticky pistons ether that or its made them both as sticky so it doesn't matter but befroe you grease it id de grease it but it normaly ends up with a new slave but id try and fix it because im about as tight as they come ben.
  22. iv been validated once then sombody must have cryed about my spellings and grammar and i got made a new member again. think you have the right idea lets all stop fighting and go ride a lot more fun i'm not saying your points you have made are stupid or maybe not even wrong but you could at least be a little more polite.
  23. i was surprised at the number of places that do helicoiling my local bike shop is tiny and has some old people running it but they done it i would just ask around see who can help i wouldn't trust the old clips me self but yeah i can see it just about working another option though i have never done it is filling the hole with weld and re-tapping it if thats any use to you. ben
  24. and this is making the forum a helpful place? and yes i did go a few lines with out punctuation but to be honest if i can read it and i have a metal disability and you cant whats that saying about you. i think most of my posts have been constructive and i try and help people where i can how are you helping anybody crying about full stops. ben
  25. i'm really liking the way theres so many experts on dyslexia theres different serveritys and problems and yes i can spot other people mistakes some times and not my own but when i write it i think i'm spelling it correctly or using the right word or i wouldn't use it thats just common sense i can see why your annoyed about the numbers but i like using them because then you have to be thinking of less letters and the word become easier to remember i mean yes people should try and make it ledgeable but whats the big old problem with having a go at him so much if your worried that its hard to read the post don't strain your self and read it or waste even more time telling a dyslexic person to spell its not our hobby being bad at spellings and grammer
