New In Edinburgh - Looking For Local Riders
kevind replied to flexxtrialer's topic in Member Organised Rides
Hi Andrew, We have a barn out in East Lothian we are slowly setting up to ride in over the winter months, dry and lights. PM me your number.Rab comes out from Edinburgh to ride. There are around 10 (novice to inter level)of us riding out and around East Lothian most days. We were at Port Seton yesterday all afternoon riding on the rocks at the beach. Anybody is welcome just PM me. Hoping to do Tuesday night this week and set up more sections. -
The brake has worked after its initial time to bed in. Then its just stopped doing its job. The disk, I clean with disk cleaner and clean paper toewels and have givin it a light sand. The frame has had the paint removed and the mounts faced to allow the caliper to sit square with the disk. If it doesnt bed in today then I will rebleed the whole sytem, put on a new disk and cook the old pads. Then it has to work!!! Did the Gary brake and clean with water and wipe the gunk of the disk. For now seems to be alot better. Thanks guys for the help.

Thanks for the help. We have been out all afternoon and it was getting worse and worse. Stripped it when we got home and noticed that the anodised screw in cap on the outside was moving when you applied the brake, then noticed this was weeping a little oil. tightend it up and cleaned the pads (emery paper) and cleaned the disk. lever is so so on the pull (not lock but not to squishy) It still doesnt lock the wheel. It did take a few rides to bed in when we first got it ( then it was perfect ) so I will let him ride it tommorrow and see if it settles. Need it fixed for British next weekend.

Fitted a rear Echo TR disk brake to my lads bike. It seems very hit or miss when the pads bite the disk. The pads polish up to smooth metalic sheen and then dont grip well. I have tried a new set of pads, but just the same result. Disk, as was supplied with the kit. The pads and disk a cleaned after each ride but still don't want to work well. Any advice would be great. Different manufacturer of pads? Thanks

Wet and windy for the last one! It did dry up and the wind settled as the day went on. I will post up final standings asap and well done to the first ever Scottish champions. Primary: Simon Duke Novice: Aaron Duke Intermediate: Lewis Munro Expert: Ross McArthur. Thanks to all the observers and well done to the new riders that came along. Three laps of six sections, and although the layout of the sections was abit easier the mud and the weather still took a lot of marks. There was some great battles through out the day in each class. Thanks to Bob Macgregor trials park for allowing us to run the last event at short notice. It supplied the usual great sections and sevices all day. It is open all year and makes a great practice venue for those winter weekends with no comps. The heated buildings with hot water made a big difference through out the day. Thanks to Danny Mac for doing the awards and taking so much time with the younger riders, it made their day and a great end of year.

We are off to set up and have a play in the rain, might be sunny on the west coast!!!! I know some of you cant make this weekend so, thanks for your support of SBTC in its first year. Hope you enjoyed the ones you could attend and sorry for the few alterations along the way. Hopefully next year will be bigger and better and I know from the ems I am getting that we should have a few younger riders swelling the primary and novice class. I know some of the riders in these groups will be moving up and look forward to a bigger inter class next year. I have a better understanding of section layout and level now so it should be a easier year in the middle groups. Post up results when I get back and overall champ results. In the mean time any constructive ideas for next year would be most welcome. Web page for next year should be soon. Always on the lookout for new venues for next year to keep it fresh. So far: 1 Kinlochleven (Saturday), weekend of the world motorbike trial champs so you can go on the Sunday to it? Middle of the year so better weather. 2 Two at Bob Macgregors. 3 World Downhill weekend again if its on. (Saturday) 4 Provisional indoor/outdoor venue in Edinburgh? Thats 5 for now. Could do with venue around Stirling/ Perth area and down the Borders somewhere? Kevin

said he would decide later in the week and you could get a lift from his if he was. I think AJ is wanting to ride. Better strenghten that wrist!! wheel is straight as it can be but has a lovely flat spot that is their to stay. Dont notice it when I am riding so nae problem big man.

Any Riders In The Glasgow/cumbernauld Area?
kevind replied to SunshineDiver's topic in Beginners Trials Chat
Nearly own Scotland as well. Last comp off the year guys at the Bob Macgregor venue in North Ayrshire on the 9th October. Few weeks notice so hopefully you can get the day orf. check the comp section for details. -
Hi Guys, Bob Macgregor it is then. (will try to get another couple of venues for next year, in talks with two at the moment) The venue has been booked today and I will get entry forms up tonight. I will ease up on Novice and inter sections this time and I have an idea for a good few new sections so they are not repeated. Championship trophies will be awarded after the event. Two classes have been won and two have still to be decided. I would like entries in before the event please as makes the morning a bit less hectic. As usual I will be there from Saturday mid morning to set up and stay over. All welcome? Kevin

Aaron and Simon entered as well from sunny Scotland, cant get anybody else to make the trip down so far. Ben I will put something on disk for you to have a look at for the clubs website if thats still okay.
