  1. street fighter is a term used in motorbikes. its when you custom a motorbike to look streety and mean. dunno if thats supposed to look like a mean bike.. ?
  2. Rigid forks, lower your gearing and change the bars and stem for trials specific ones and you may be able to get near something streety. Like an inspired 24" bike. May want a stronger back brake too.
  3. Then move along and do one.. And try stay on your front wheel a little longer. The turn from the 180 will give you your momentum to carry on the g turn ( yeah technical shit there... )
  4. Repair kits cost £4-£5?... .. If your not prepared to shell out to fix broken parts... Trials biking isnt the sport for you.
  5. This sounds reeeeeally big headed.. But they are actually not as hard as people think. I can do them (sort of) and ive only been riding like 1.5 years. They are a lot easier on a inspired. I cantkeep them goin but with practice i think i could after a few months. Watch brakeless g turn bmx vids. Basically if you can do a 180 endo.. One of the first moves people learn... Then try to do it without touching your brakes. Easier than it sounds. Its like popping a 180 with your front tyre on the floor. Then basically just practice that. After a while youll find out you can lean over the front and keep the rear up a bit longer. Word of warning you WILL go over the bars loads. I must have done about 50 times in 2 weeks and i have a massive scar on my leg from it. The only thing is that theres no nose manual into the g turn. It happens really fast. I have no idea how to brakelss nose manual into a g turn. But i imagine it would be very hard.
  6. believe it or not i went about 4 months without anything going wrong. didnt break anything or change anything. then i felt the need to switch stuff up, so i bought some new parts and re-bled brakes etc, then i had to keep adjusting stuff and tweeking it, now its been fine about a month. and now im about to buy new parts and start the cycle over again....
  7. put a sticker over the 24" bit? one of them trials addict stickers would do the job. thats what i'd do anyway... that 24" font looks shite! and i love the black. but you will se AAAAALLLL the scratches.
  8. yeah those forks are absolutely rank. they are so heavy and look shit. i had a 2010 onza zoot for about 3 months... learnt to pedal kick after 2, then dropped off a 4 foot box and snapped the frame at the seat stays :\ hope yours lasts longer.
  9. i thought it was alright. didnt have the sound on so didnt hear the apparent shit music. even though he's got a somewhat sketchy riding style.. he still gets it done. even if there are 200 out takes of him failing that he never put in.. and if someone (aka ali c) dont like it.. he dont like it. out of interest... what exactly do you mean by.. "he should give it a chance"
  10. i rode with a 165 x 35' with trialtech sport riser bars. wasnt too bad. but i snapped the stem and went back to a 150x30'... feels much better. you could try a 165mm, but in my experience i think you should try before you buy if possible.
  11. yes. but you can get a really thin diamond cutting disc for about £10 that fits into a drill. takes ahlf as much time as a hacksaw and not as intimidating as using a angle grinder. you may aswell just go for the angle grinder though, its easy. or are you not a power tool type of guy.
  12. Radical bikes has a broken fork as a bog roll holder. An a bent rotor for a soap holder..
  13. yeah i only live an hour and a half away from barrow, me and a few mates usually load up the cars at 8am and head down there for the day on sundays. weve camped a few times and its brilliant. will be camping more often next summer if i have my camper on the road, i can see peoples point of view, if i lived any more that 1.5 hours away i wouldnt bother. cant understand why people say the atmosphere isnt as good as radfest? surely if your going with a bunch of mates, camping, drinking and riding bikes .. surely thats good enough? barrow is mint.
  14. Am i the only one left actually trying to give the guy some ideas on how to lighten his bike? Hahaha
  15. Cutting off nobbles wont realy do anything to be honest. I do it cos i think it grips easier on corners of walls etc, gives something for the wall to sit in. But whether thats right or its a psychologicalthing im not sure. Butni like it. Youll only save 100g. But it may be worth it. Only other option is buy new bits. to be honest i dont think there is a cheap option when it comes to trials. Unless you ram raid tartys. But then you need to buy gloves and balaclavas. And tools to steal a get away car.. Ive gone on a tangent again..
  16. ^ doyou actually beleive that? (@ liam n) Tie a 2kg weight to your frame and go for a ride... Saving half a kilo wont improve your technique, but it will damn sure make it easier to get right. If weight didnt mater then why would companies make lighter parts? Why get carbon bars and superlight pedals when you could bang on cast iron forks and 3kgs worth of tyres? Duh But saving like 200g ... Thats doing literally nothing i agree, it has to be a sizeable weight saved.
  17. If you have 3 sets of new tyres.. Sell them and get a try all rear and small block 8 front. Then lighter tubes. As for drilling.. Dont bother. The amount of weight you save doesnt outweigh the strength you will lose in the frame. In laurences case, ive seen his bike in person.. And for anyone wondering.. Yes it looks absoloutly shocking imo, Was a nice frame before.. No offence laurence hhaha. More decent parts is the only way to lose weight really. Home modifications are mostly a waste of time. Also... Your cranks are heavy as fook. And if you had maguras and non disc hubs thats alot of weight saved. But thats gonna cost. An i cant see properly but your frame dont look like it has 4 bolt mounts.
  18. Saw it being used by darryl? I bought his bike didnt i you spastic. Yeah with those heatsink yellows on a completely smooth rim it was well good, dont see why it wouldnt work foryou. Its gotta be better than having a grind, the grind on that viz rim just dies anyway dont it? Heads up... I took the grind off a rim and polished it.. It took ages...
  19. file the grind smooth? or if you dont have a file.. work your way up the sandpaper grits?
  20. this is from ages ago? anyway my brakes sorted now. the lever was leaking from somewhere, (i never found out where) i just re-bled with royal blood, brakes a beast, no leakes = win!
  21. yeah manual into it, then when your front wheel is nearly on the wall, good foot = up. thats the theory.. i dont know how to do it. i cant manual haha. i do badfoot-goodfoot whether from a standstill or moving.
