    Bolt Question

I had a similar problem with my rear brake mounts. I was running a 4 bolt booster on a stock Meta with HS33. The left rear frame mount stripped out. I was able to run a bit longer M5 after filing it down that connected with the bottom set of frame brake mount threads. The top few threads are stripped, not the complete set of threads. My bike is a Meta (stupid strong) and the main purpose of the booster was to protect the brake line cross over, not so much for stability/frame flex. So I picked up a 2 bolt booster and was able to run my original M5 bolt and used the booster spacer on the bad threaded brake mount. It works fine but soon to install 4 heli-coils to get rid of the long M5 and spacer.

    New Hs33 Brake

I was running a stock 2010 model HS33 and it broke from a very basic wreck. Replaced it with the Olympic 05 model and run TNN/LGM pads. Awesome brake now. Maybe the 2011 housing will hold up better than past? Agree the lever needs to be replaced.
  4. You have to get a member to validate you. Not sure how but I guess I am now a member? I will try to validate you but not sure how.

  5. Plus Christian is very motivated to ride well in National comps this year riding the Expert line. You remind me a bit of Trevor Bodough. Good on you Christian.
  6. Kevind - Huba huba! I started again at 48. There is such a learning curve even with excellent moto trials skills. How is your body holding up? Good job mate - Ateam
  7. Hey Jesse, are you on OTN?

What does it take to get validated on here?

  8. I liked the Uni part.

    The Awesome Crew!

Seems like this is the second time they have used this horrid music, then maybe not. Great riding, MEH music.
  10. Interesting he is trying DD. I wonder if he stays with the rear disc.
  11. OAP, need vids sir. Yea, I own my own business and you have to be dedicated to make time to ride. You need to ride with some of your local friends, you will progress quickly. Good luck.

Thank you. Trials is in my blood, bike trials creates blood. It's all good.
  13. Not too old at 40 at all. If your somewhat athletic and determined, then give it a go. I started again after many years at 48 and will be 50 in about 3 months. Working on pedal kicks now and better rear wheel control. I have a pallet play ground and trials north shore in my yard. I get a real work out plus there are about a dozen or so that ride regularly.
  14. 2009 Meta. Nothing original really except frame. Soon to add Hope front brake and new Trialtech stem. TT cranks, White Industry FFW, FSA downhill BB, Echo hubs and TT rims, Premium pedals, TT high risers, currently running BB7, 203 rotor with XTR lever, HS33 with LGM & TNN backings. Bike is perfect for a fat ass like me and soon to be 50 years old.
  15. That would be me, but I live in New Mexico, bordering Arizona. Almost 50 soon and I started almost 2 years ago. Now working on pedal off's & up;s, mostly developing rear wheel control. It was actually the right testicle, ripped open the sack and was literally hanging out. I rode my bike back to my vehicle which was about a mile away. Went home, got something to eat, cleaned up best I could and then went to the ER. Over 20 cc's of morphine that night but all is well. Ateam
  16. Oh you are so young. I have ridden moto trials for @ 25 years and in 1987 I bought a brand new Ot Pi replica mod. There were a few of us that rode bike trials or Trialsn as we called it. I moved to New Mexico (USA) from Texas and kept the bike but didn't ride it. Fast forward many years and about 2 years ago I bought my son a Simtra mod and decided I needed to ride again. I then bought a Planet X Zebdi and loved it. Not much later I went all out and bought a new Meta stock. Since then I have replaced all components and it is perfect for me now. I will be 50 in 3 months and been riding bicycle trials 2 years. My progression is very slow and injuries or aches and pain associated with bike trials has been a challenge for me. However, there are many folks here in the US that are 50 or older. I have competed in several bike trials competitions and a few nationals, it has been a blast. I have been working on conditioning and bought a mountain bike, run some and of course ride. I have attached a couple of videos. The OTN video is pretty old but it was taken for a video trials contest that I started on our forum in the US - www.observedtrials.net Cheers to Trials Forum - Ateam
  17. Hey Ryder, I just did you a validation, trying to do the same o hit me back. Looking forward to Durango's event, we had a blast last year. Ateam
  18. Just ordered TNN backings with LGM pads from Tarty today. Medium grind on a Trialtech rim. Should be sweet.
  19. As a new member, is it not possible to attach photos? Sorry but a quick review through the stickies didn't clarify to me my options as a temporary member. Your help is greatly appreciated. Ateam
  20. Today is a big day for AliC. I wonder what the gang at Tarty gives him?

Hello Trials Forum My name is Tony. My first bike was a Monty Ot Pi Replica I purchased new from a friend in Ireland in 1987. My first moto bike was a Bultaco Sherpa T. I live in the mountains near Albuquerque New Mexico. I have returned to bicycles after a long absence and picked up a Simtra mod for my son and I ride a Meta stock. I have competed in several bike trials nationals last year and this year will be many competitions. I have ridden over 100 moto nationals in the United States and Canada so trials is in my blood. I wanted to join TF due to the best in bike trials content, vids and news; and to make some new friends. I hope I can get verified soon and do appreciate your votes. I recon I will some day and I am a patient guy. Quick stats: Independent consulting geologist, 2 kids and happily married (so far so good) and will be 50 years old in June. I suppose I will always be a newbie but I do ride. I have linked a few videos of a moto trials I hosted last weekend and a bike video I made in a competition a while ago. Moto: Video Throw Down: National in Tennessee last year: Cheers guys.
  22. Hey there, trying to join the TF, love Malcom's vids. Time for a new one.

Any advice on hos I can become a real member would be appreciated.

  23. I would love to show my pride and joy Meta on here but can't load pictures. Some day I will become a member. I like this forum.
  24. There is a top pro in the US (Neil Willey) and a soon to be pro that ride mods. Neil is about 6'5" and Nathan is 6'4". They kill it on a mod but would love to see them ride stock as well.
