  1. Ok not sure if i'm being dumb here but can i use the current rear wheel and just get a new sprocket or do i need a complete new wheel? Also is the front freewheel hard to replace? Ok, would probably get a new front freewheel from tarty and fit that, would that then mean i just need a new rear sprocket for it to work? Also got the mech hanger so that fine thanks heres the webby if anyone needs as really good service, great range and is CNC - http://gearmechhanger.com/
  2. I assumed it would be freewheel which perhaps i should have asked but as none of this was on the description i agree with you. So far list of what i consider problems should have been mentioned: 1. Broken hanger bracket 2. Broken front freewheel 3. Fixed wheel!! Really pissed offff - any suggestions on getting new front freewheel and how to change the rear one to freewheel? Its a Yaabaa Bow
  3. Ok so i tried spinning the cranks in reverse and holding the sprocket but it wont budge an inch but i may have found the reason. Looking at the inside part of what may be a freewheel the plate has partly come off i.e 1mm and i can see some ball bearings!!!!! It looks as if some have got out as there are some gaps. Very angry witht the seller who said it rides like a dream yet when arrive i had to replace the bracket hanger for the deraileuar Yes it is fat and looks like it is a freewheel
  4. Sorry can't get any more photo's as my dad has gone out with his phone and not got another camera here. Will have a look though i may not be able to do much Ok will go try this
  5. Rear wheel is off now but yeah spinning either way resulted in the wheel moving in that directing.
  6. erm, not sure, when i spin the pedals the cassette moves with them and stops with them so i assume no? Sorry not the best bike mechanic as my dad does most of it =s
  7. Just getting some pics 2 secs
  8. Hi, so i just bought a seemingly good bike off ebay for trials and have now found out that it is a fixed wheel! Basically is there a way i can make it a freewheel bike? Can i just replace the hub (i think - inside of the wheel middle) for a freewheel one and also get the cassette to freewheel? urgent response please! Thanks jack
  9. Hi, when i first started riding i had always used my right foot forward to do wheelies and anything involved with lifting the front tyre. However, when track standing or doing something that required more balance i prefered my left foot forward i.e at the front when level. So i basically had the same dilema, what do i change? I experimented doing both types of tricks in reverse and found that changing my kicking foot to my left would be easier. At first it feels really wrong but just keep practising and it becomes more natural =) Just like writing with the opposite hand. Hope this helps, Jack

  12. Hi mate, one of my friends does some dj'ing and he quite often enters competitions on a website called "Beatport". Not sure if you heard of it but loads of good music there and could be useful to see other peoples entries to the competitions for inspiration ect. I think the comps are just remixing a song they select and then is votes based but pretty sure its free to sign-up so thought i'd let you know. That mix sounded good as well =)
  13. I'll have to check that book out too and yeah i know what you mean with hitchhikers. Some parts i thought were really interesting but quite frequently i just got confused and i also found it a little slow at stages. The film for it was cool though..
  14. He made Toy Story - He must be awesome!
  15. Haha! Can't beleive how much i laughed when i read that - I see what you mean. Have been thinking about reading the Jobs biography as doing a lot of Apple related research in Business at college. Might give it a try once i'm done on my current books.
  16. Just seen this thread and thought i would add my air rifle to the mix. Got a few rifles between my brother, dad and cousins but i've got a break barrel SMK supergrade XS19-18 Fibre Optic. As far as im aware its about the legal limit for air rifle power without a gun license so pretty happy with it for £100. Quite often go out hunting with my bro and cousins for squirells, pigeons, crows and rabbits. Have had quite a lot of success with the tree-rats and also got about 5 rabbits last summer but none since. Pigeons are what i want to try and get more of now due to there being quite a lot about in the trees at my grand parents fields but so far only got 2. Seem to be impossible to see when they're right in front of us =(. Recently got a decoy pigeon (haha) and gonna try setting that out in the late afternoon and "Camping" for them to land instead of out usual stalking. Any other good methods? Also anyone know of a reasonably priced multi-shot CO2 rifle? Jack
  17. Hi, As far as I am aware there isn't a topic for this; not sure if it's because it may be social suicide or just because nobody has thought of doing it but here goes. Basically I thought it might be useful to share a few good books that you have read, with all the avid readers on the forum, who like to immerse themselves in another world from time to time - Pretty much when you can't ride due to the UK weather! So just post the name of the book along with the author/s of books you would recommend as a good read for others. It may also be useful for you to post the genre/s. Here are some (Yes some) of mine: - Inheritance Cycle series by Christopher Paolini (Fantasy, Adventure, Action) - The Edge Chronicles series by Paul Stewart and Chris Riddle (Fantasy, Adventure) - The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy series by Douglas Adams (Sci-Fi, Adventure) - The Great Dune Trilogy by Frank Herbert (Sci-Fi, Adventure) - The Dwarves series by Markus Heitz (Fantasy, Adventure) - Harry Potter by you (should) know who (Fantasy, Adventure, Action) - Journey to the Center of the Earth and The Mysterious Island by Jules Verne (Adventure, Fantasy) - Song of Ice and Fire series by George R. R Martin (Action, Adventure) - Twilight Saga by Stephenie Mayer (Romance, Fantasy, Action) Not my normal style but suprisingly good - Dragon Master by Chris Bunch (Fantasy, Adventure, Action, Romance) - The Black Magician Trilogy by Trudi Canavan (Fantasy, Action, Adventure) - The Lord of the Rings by J R. R. Tolkein (Fantasy, Action, Adventure)
  18. Hi mate this website is pretty good - http://www.trashzen.com - Just look at some of the basic stuff.
  19. Hi, I've been looking at getting a stock (26") trials bike for a while but i can't really find many at the £300 mark. Anyone know any good websites/sellers as all i really know is tartybikes and they start at £700+. Alternatively names of bikes would be great. Thanks, Jack

  22. Alright thanks, may be able to pay cash in hand because he lives close. Also not to sure about helicoiling but i'll look it up. My dad is pretty good with all things mechanical so i'm sure he would be able to do it anyway. I am also going to find out how much it cost too. Thanks for you're help.
  23. Hi, I rode a Onza T-bird for about a year on my cousins bike while he was as uni. I liked it but always thought i needed something a bit bigger (im about 6ft). I'm not completely set on a new bike i suppose its just you know what you're getting when you buy new whereas second hand is a bit more risky based on just photo's. I have recently seen this bike (http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=170761034992&category=33503&_trksid=p5197.c0.m6190)on ebay. It needs a bit of work doing to it and replacing a few parts but looks pretty good to me (and its local which is a bonus). Oh yeah and budget is about £450 What do you think? Jack
