  1. Sorry.. I didn't know there was an etiquette on how many exclamation and question marks I could or couldn't to use!! Way to ruin this dude's thread though!! Top bloke!! BTW "Joosh" is a nickname of mine!! Don't hate!! Joosh
  2. It should work now I think?? but yeah, single speed is the way forward!! Joosh
  3. S'all good!! trials bikes don't tend to have gears. They don't really need them and they add weight!! Also, what I found when I first got my Phase with gears on, the chain can jump making for quite a nasty surprise when you try to pedal kick or put any major power through the drivetrain!! It just makes everything less complicated!! Not only that, it looks better single speed!! This is mine just after I'd put the single speed stuff on it!! http://www.facebook.com/photo.php?fbid=246009548759048&set=a.228879953805341.78566.100000500155511&type=3 Joosh
  4. Pretty standard Phase setup!! they're great starter bikes!! I loved mine!! Bit of advice though, get rid of the gears ASAP!! You can convert it to single speed for about 30 to 40 quid depending on what parts you go for and how you of it!! Part from that, they're great bikes!! Ever thought about water bleeding the hs33?? Joosh
  5. Hey peeps!! I've recently bought a DJ frame and built it up using some old Rock Shox Dart 1 forks that I had lying around but after using them for a bit with the preload wound right off, they're just not soft enough to absorb any heavy landings.. I do a mix of dirt jumps, street and BMX so I land to flat quite often!! I'm looking into getting some air forks so I can adjust the pressures in them to suit what I'm doing but there is so many to choose from and I can't decide!! I have a budget of about 250 to 300 quid but as always, if something comes highly reccomend, I might stretch the budget a little!! Hopefully someone can help me choose some decent ones or just reccomend ones that might suit my riding style!! It would be greatly appreciated!! Thanks in advance people!! Joosh
  6. Ahh I've got you now!! I was looking at the formula bit on the bottom and thinking what the hell is this!! nice one!! Thanks very much guys!! That's made my life a bit easier!! Think I'll save that pic so I know what I'm doing if I change the front size!! Thanks again!! Joosh
  7. Ahh okay!! So how this work then?? Is this just for rear sprockets or for both?? Sorry my understanding of maths is terrible!! Cheers Joosh
  8. Hey peeps!! I'm building up a new 26 inch dirt jumps bike and I'm a little skeptical about the gearing.. I'm looking at possibly a 25 tooth front sprocket but I dunno what to go for on the back?? I had the idea of putting my 22 tooth front sprocket from my phase onto it but the BB was too short and it was fowling the chainstay.. I'm going to buy some 3 piece cranks from CRC but again, buying the sprocket to with it is where I'm stuck!! Cheers in advance guys!! Joosh
  9. Ahh okay fair one!! I'm just wanting to try to save as much money as I can which is why I chose the Ashton frame.. Also, I don't know wether or not I can ride a 24" to it's full potential!! I'm starting to throw my Phase round like a street bike and it's just not what I want!! And murph, I'm looking for mainly just a frame but if the right thing arises, I might just get another bike!! I'll have a look and get back to you!! Cheers guys Joosh
  10. Hey guys!! I'm wanting more of a streety bike instead of my Phase 1.2 and I'm just wondering if anyone has had any expeierence with the Ashton Effect frames?? I'm wanting to take everything off my Phase and put it straight onto a new frame but obviously the Phase is a 26" and the Aston is down on tarty as a 24".. Would I be able to get away with putting my 26" wheel onto the Ashton frame?? Here is a link to the Ashton to save you searching/wondering which one of I'm on about!! Linky: http://www.tartybikes.co.uk/frames/ashtondiamondback_effect_frame_fork_and_headset_kit/c128p11086.html If there is no hope with this frame, could someone point me in the right direction of a cheap streety/DJ frame that is 26" wheel compatible!! Thanks folks!! Joosh
  11. Just another easy one for you experts!! Rather than post somthing in the "for sale" section, I thought I'd be sensible and post in here first!! Thinking of selling a few bits and pieces so just wanted some estimates please!! The items are: - MAD Phase 1.2 frame and forks. (Few scratches on the forks and on the side of the frame). - Alex Rims DX32 laced to a Hope Pro 2 (not the trials one!!) Relitivly true and not egg shaped. - Alex Rims DM18 rim with no spokes or hub. Has only had about 2 months riding through it. - Brand new Tektro 160mm rotor. - SRAM SX4 rear gear shifter (taken off the Phase after about 2 weeks) - SRAM 3.0 rear derailleur (again taken off the Phase after about 2 weeks) Thanks again in advance duudes!! Joosh
  12. Ahh I never thought of that!! I'll have to keep that in mind!! Joosh
  13. Hi everyone!! Just a quick question this time!! I have a 180mm rotor on the front of my mod at the minute and I've been given a brand new Avid rotor which is a 185mm. What I'm wondering is will it just be a stright swap from the 180 to the 185 or will I have to buy another mount adaptor for the extra 5mm?? I'm running a Magura Louise with a 180mm adaptor on the front in case that makes any difference!! Thanks in advance people!! Joosh
  14. Can you weigh this in?
  15. Yeah I do!! Never really been fussed to upgrade or owt!! Thats me sorted then!! Thanks a bunch guys!! Joosh
  16. Sweet!! Thats cleared that up for me!! Just out of curiosity, this would work right?? LINKY!! Thanks again bud!! Joosh
  17. Ahh okay!! Nice one!! And yeah I've got a Try-all 108.9 on so it's quite a slim freewheel!! Cheers Joosh
  18. Hello again everyone!! My bottom bracket on the T-Poo is making some wiiierrd noises under pressure and even somtimes just rolling along!! :/ I know I put an old one in when I built the bike up but it seemed in relativly good condition but it seems to have gone downhill a bit since then!! I don't really want to take the old one out yet untill I've bought the new one so I can just make it a straight swap!! What I'm trying to work out is what length axle BB I need to get?? Stupid me didn't measure the one thats in before I fitted it!! So if anybody has put a BB in a T-Pro frame any time recently or just happens to know what would work, lemme know!! Thanks peeps!! Joosh
  19. Hey people!! Just thought I'd share my T-Pro with you all!! Yeah I know it's not a very good bike but I like it non the less!! Went out for a bit of a mess about and decided to take some photos.. Trying to be all artistic and that!! Tell me what you think!! I'll write a list of specs (not that its that much) later on!! Joosh
  20. It weighs too much!! hahaa to be honest, thats not the furthest i've seen people go!! Someone used superglue to hold the hoses on!! Again "Cos tape weighs too much"!! But yeah.. It's mad what people will do to save weight BTW, Is that a clear hose you have running to the rear brake?? Looks like some RC car fuel pipe!! Joosh
  21. Hahaa to be honest, it's not gunna be perfect but I don't see that big beardy fella shouting "PRAAPERR JAAAAB" yet.. So no.. I ain't doing it!! And yeah I fully appreciate that, just I like to hear what people think before I crack on doing it!! Cheers Joosh EDIT: Like this you mean?? Oh the glory of MS paint!!
  22. Hahaaa I figured I'd get some comments like this!! I must admit though it looked okay on my mates car!! And obviously it would look a bit different in real life rather that on microsoft paint!! But yeah.. I think i'll stick to silver forks, black frame and purple mounts and bash guard!! That was easy sorted eh!! Cheers Joosh
  23. Hey people!! I bought an Onza T-Pro frame off here not so long ago and a cracked but welded T-Mag frame off my mate as a doner bike!! I've vaguely put it together, took some pictures and started messing round on microsoft paint to try some colour schemes. I had it in my head that it was gunna be matt black with purple anodised maggie mounts, bash guard and silver forks.. But then I had this idea which a lad I know did on his car!! Basically it's just yellow and black warning tape wrapped around the forks.. It looked good on his car's bumpers but I dunno what to think of it on my bike!! Plus I'd then be looking to change the colour of the mounts and bash guard to match!! Sorry if I'm droning on but I wanted you's to get the most info I could give you!! Have a look at the picture and tell me what you think!! And what other schemes I could consider!! Cheers!! Joosh PS: Sorry about the size of the photo.. I've not mastered how to scale it down properly yet!! Just download it if it does you're head in!!
  24. Hey people!! I've just bought a fully built up onza T-Mag as a doner to my new frame and when riding, the front hub is making some preetty horrible noises!! I have an unbranded disk hub which I was going to put on my Phase but decided against it which I can use on the mod.. Only problem is, the hub thats on it and the new one are different sizes.. therefore, new spokes!! I tried to use the DT Swiss spoke calculator but it's so blood confusing!! I don't understand what half the terms mean.. Could someone please explain, in sipmle terms, what I need to measure and how to go about calculating it?? Thanks in advance for any help!! You guys are great!! Joosh EDIT: Forgot to mention it's an unbranded rim too.. I'm assuming it's the standard Onza front rim!!
  25. It's not BRAND new but the guy said it has just had new pads and said it was in "excellent condition"!! The only reason he removed it was because he got a team green one!! Heres a picture of it so you can decide what it is for me!! Cheers Joosh
