  2. to be honest, I'm alright with my hubs as they are for the minute!! I'm only just learning the basics at the moment (rear wheel hopping, balancing properly etc) but I've had no problems with them so far!! I've only had it just over a month and I've had more than enough trouble with other things on it so im hoping after this, i'll have no more issues!! Touch wood that is!! And well thanks Rockman for your warning bout them!! I'll definatly keep an eye on it in the future but like I say, I'm no expert yet so I think it should hold out for now!! Thanks again guys Joosh
  3. Oh really Rockman?? What makes you say that?? Curious thats all!! Before I got it, all I heard was praise for them.. And now I have one, all I seem to find is that they're bad news!! What makes them so bad?? And yeah jacksnell95, it is the standard hub atm but I hope to change it in the future!! (When I get the money that is!! ) Cheers guys Joosh

  5. Hey guys!! So I got my single speed conversion done today and when I got the bike home, someone told me over facebook that my new half link chain was on backwards.. (Yeah.. I'm a fool I know!! Donkey ears are on as we speak!!) Now my question is, will it cause any damage to the chain itself, the tensioner or any of the cogs? I dont really want to ride it any more for fear I might break somthing!! I'm lending a chain splitter on thursday so I can correct it but untill then, is it safe/okay to ride?? Thanks in advance!! Joosh
  6. hahaa i thought you might have!! its my Halfords nickname!! He did reccomend however we go for the one Tioz has but i mean if i can save a tenner, i'm happy!! i'm gunna buy the same single speed kit from superstar componants you've bought and a single speed chain from halfords (http://www.halfords.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/product_storeId_10001_catalogId_10151_productId_791187_langId_-1_categoryId_230505#dtab) to do mine. I dont think its neccesery but i want one anyways!! just the tensioner to decide on and we're done i reckon!! only thing thats confusing me is how do i go about using the origanal hub/freewheel?? Joosh

  12. Hi Again i've been looking for single speed conversions and I came across this!! http://www.winstanleysbikes.co.uk/product/8526/DMR_Single_Speed_Conversion_Kit Is it any good to use on my M.A.D Phase 1.2?? Cheers Joosh PS Sorry if i'm annoying you guys asking all these questions but I REALLY want to get my bike sorted so I can start going properly!! Just bare with me!!
  13. Hey Will i've only had mine about 3 weeks now and i've had more trouble than its worth!! When i took it out the box to build it, the gear shifter's cable was the wrong way round the frame so i had to take all one side off the bars to correct it. Then when I took it out for a spin, the cranks kept working loose so I put some loctite on and tightened them up BAR tight!! and they still work loose occasinlly. Then, after all that, i took it out agin and was doing no more than 5 MPH and the chain snapped!! dont get me wrong its not a bad bike for the price just its very fragile!! Hope this has helped!! Joosh
  14. Hi I'm wanting to purchase a brake booster for my M.A.D Phase 1.2 because I have noticed a bit of frame flex but I dont know what will work or fit it?? I'm only wanting to put it on the rear brakes as there isnt much flex on the forks so I can wait a bit before doing the front!! The rough measurement is about 93 mm from the center of the bolt holes. If it helps, i'm using Magura HS33 brakes. Cheers Joosh
  15. Ahh right cool!! Well I must warn you, when it comes, make sure the crank arms are realllly tight before you use it!! I'm having a right clart on with mine keep falling off!! Its a nice bike for the price!! And i'll have a look at the one you posted and see if its any good!! Like I say I dont know much about them but I work at Halfords so I might have to bribe the BikeHut to do it for me!! Thanks Joosh
