  1. I think people buy up domains as a gamble sometimes knowing that they might eventually get a domain that someone is willing to pay alot for, Often I've found that soon after buying a few domains (of the same name) for myself I find that the remaining ones have all also gone a few weeks later
  2. @ Murph, sorry to hear about the crohns dude, that messed me up quite bad a few years ago till I found my trigger. I have a big, huge issue with weight loss. A HUGE industry of bullshit has sprung up to serve people with over complicated weight loss methods just so they can avoid the obvious solution of eating less. Losing weight has to be one of the easiest things in the world, just don't eat, yet people go to the gym to lose eight, they take harmful pills, they keep eating tonnes but instead follow some bizarre and potentially dangerous diet.
  3. As a medical person, I must compliment the weed advocates on the sheer amount of bad/lost in translation/biased science I have seen. To all the 'drug companies just want to make money' arguments, maybe in america. But here the state pays for all medical care, so our system is set up to save cash, not spend it. If we had decent evidence that a herb (not necessarily cannabis) worked comparably/better than its drug equivalent we'd probably prescribe it. However most drugs are dirt cheap, and if you've ever bought herbal pills you'll see that they aren't. To the 'this is scientifically proven yet no one does a thing' themed arguments. With bad science it's possible to draw a wide range of erroneous conclusions, not all scientific studies are created equally, many are deliberately biased. If the medical community is ignoring a study showing weed to be the next wonder drug its probably because its bogus. Finally, I am in favor of legalizing drugs that are 'safe'. Anything less harmful that alcohol should in my opinion be legalized and regulated, unfortunately legalizing drugs is not a vote winner.
  4. Change the name. Legal system means you might get away with having the same name if your business operated in a different sector/whatever, but given the similarity they can sue you. I could open a plumbing shop called starbucks, but not a chain of coffee stores. Of course they would need money to be able to pursue you, but given that I personally believe a business name is largely irrelevant I would find something else. Generally names/words without meaning work best as brands as you can completely shape the meaning of the word/phrase to your own branding. ie cadbury means nothing in the english language, but I know its a chocolate brand, because cadbury told me thats what it means. Secondly, a clothing company, are you high? that has to be one of the most competitive markets I can think of. Given the ease with which a person can have their own custom clothes designed to their arty whims I would expect tonnes of competition even in the bizare/indie style category. I could rant for a while about why its a bad idea, but it probably won't help anything.
  5. Looks to me like these have been built up to used as crusiers/low riders etc
  6. I would certaintly not trust their evidence on improved puncture resistance.
  7. Spied that yesterday, hoping the seller will get to back to me with some pictures in time.
  8. STP looks like a good bet, nice short chainstay, top tube looks short enough to accommodation a longer stem. More importantly, cheap/widely available frames.
  9. Thanks guys for getting back to me with many ideas, it seems there is a lot more to consider than I had first thought of so I will explain a bit more about what I'm after and what I want to do. At the moment I have an onza zoot which I am thoroughly enjoying playing. Aswell as what is best described as a hardtail freeride bike, a fairly long, very stable bike that is most at home riding off/down sketchy constructions in the woods. Its an old school huck bike and good one too in that it is very forgiving. Unfortunately I am getting too old and wise to use it like this, and as it is it needs atleast a new frame/forks to be re purposed to anything else other than a very heavy xc bike. Back to the present, though I am just learning trials I am seeing plenty of lines that would be a lot of fun, yet a bit sketchy on my zoot (Often things involving stair sets), so I'm considering re purposing my current mtb into something trialsy enough to preform the basics and allow me to access some new lines without taxing my limited skill base too much, and still being capable of the odd slow trip to the woods. The inspired hex, and custom builds seem like good matches but a bit on the pricey side for me. I am expecting the best match I will find will be a street/freeride orientated frame that will not feel too out of place with a 90mm stem. As for fork length, I will probably seek out a mid weight rockshox fork with u-turn and play around with fork heights to get a good compromise before looking for a more solid/reliable fork, I have found some frames are exceedingly good fun with shorter than intended forks, but also many others that aren't. I am weary of the old school frames recommended on account of metal fatigue, though they do look like great matches for me. What I might well do is look up the geometries of the frames mentioned and seek out something modern that is similar, though ultimately my experience in trials is effectively zero so I don't really know how a frame should feel riding it and will rely on your opinions to make sure I don't end up with something too unsuitable.
  10. Hi guys, I'm looking for an mtb frame suitable to be used for a mixture of trials/general usage. The setup I'm looking to create is that which I see under norco riders a lot. Does anyone have any frames to recommend? Or more importantly can anyone tell me the geometry I should look for? I imagine I need a frame with a real short rear end, headangle could be fairly average but sharpened by running the forks 20mm less optimum height. I am though stumped by top tube length, do I want long or short? Rob
  11. I've had hundreds of used bikes sent my way (no exaggeration), and the above is certainly sound advice, I would say not to sweat it too much though. Some of the bikes I have received looked like they were packed by a mental patient but none of them suffered anything more than small items going missing (headset bearings, pedals etc) or minor cosmetic damage wheel axles coming into contact with frames. One bike sent to me was literally complete, fully assembled, wrapped lightly in bubble wrap. Imagine a bubble wrap monster lightly jizzing on a bike and you've got it.
