  1. That bike looks pretty good so far! I think I need to get solidworks..... There's no way you could do that in sketchup. I've got someone machining my snail cams, so I'll have to see how that works.
  2. I've read that engine enamel works pretty good. Has anyone tried it?
  3. Thanks ogre. Spraying it seems a little better for me, since when I do scratch it, I can go ahead and respray.
  4. I just managed to tear some shoulder ligament on a gap. I'm out of riding for a while, but at least I made the gap.
  5. This sounds like a good plan. Is there any way to get the paint to stick to anodized finish? How do you think I would get that off? I've had bad luck with spray paint in the past, but I don't think I primered, or did the clear finish. Thanks!
  6. Hi, I'm just wondering what a reasonable price is for someone to powdercoat a frame and fork. I don't really want to get it powdercoated, just to find out I was overcharged. Thanks
  7. I hopped on a bike set up with these, without a grind, from NWtrials. I didn't get much time on them, but they felt pretty good. They are a softer compound, so they might wear through pretty fast if you ran a grind.
  8. Thanks for sharing those pictures. Its a bummer that there aren't any events like that around here.
  9. Is solidworks really worth paying for when it's just going to expire in a year? I guess if I really get going with this 3d stuff I might get it. I should be taking a CAD class in highschool next year, so I should be able to see what they use. I think I finally found someone to cut my prototype part. I'll get a picture of it on here when its cut. Today I've got some free time, so I'll try and make a v booster and bash ring. What do you need to have measured? I could probobly help you out there. Do you own a cnc machine?
  10. Thanks for so many replies! I have tried to ride trials on my mtb and I just about killed the freehub. It isn't the nicest bike in the world either. I normally ride the local mtb park on my "pure" trials bike, so I'm not too worried about the bike not being the right geo for mountain bikeing. I would just like a trials bike that is a little less bumpy on the trails, and that was a little more forgiving when I land jumps wrong. Money is the main reason for not having as many bikes as I'd like. I think I'll just build the street trials up with a rigid fork, and then stick my cheap specialized suspension fork from my mtb on to see if its worth spending money on. Then I could also change out the forks depending on where I'm riding. Thanks again for the help, I think I've got a better idea of what I'll do now.
  11. Since I should be moving torwards some mountains/MTB trails, I want to build up a street trials frame with suspension forks and maybe some gears, so that I can ride some trails, but ride some trials on the side. So, what are some of the suspension forks that work well for trials and won't break under the abuse? I'm also wondering what makes a good suspension fork. Thanks!
  12. Lots of our local riders have the neon bow frame, and I haven't heard anything bad about them flexing. Of course, I don't ride one, so I wouldn't know for sure. The geo does feel pretty good though.
  13. I've been designing some stuff in a beta version of autodesk, but I can't find anyone to cut the parts for a resonable (or affordable) price. Does anybody know of a place that doesn't charge a fortune for a simple part? I'm guessing that all of the cnc mills that cut aluminum cost well over $1000? I guess that would be about 646 bdp.
  14. I've got myself a 26" disk neon comp fork on my 24" bike. I didn't even realise that they made a 24" version when I bought it. So far it's been holding up well, althought they do have some flex. I still think they're worth the money. It is pretty weird how the 26" magura mount comp forks have a built in booster, but the 24" doesn't.
  15. It seems like my options are the Neon frame, a Because street frame (1040wb, +20bb, 380cs, and 73deg.HA) or a custom geo marino. I'm hesitant on marino because I'm already having communication issues, and don't even know how much one of his cheaper frames would cost me. I'm just wondering, what gear ratio do you run?
  16. Thanks for the replies. I'm currently riding a because simple pure frame, but some of the better riding spots are a few miles away and with this bike I would put a few gears on a hope hub and then I could ride to them. Thanks for sharing that. I think that I ride a bit more like the style in that video, and so if that geometry works for him, then it should work alright for me. Now I just got to sell some spare parts and order it.
  17. Hi, I can get the neon 24" street frame locally for pretty cheap. I've only ridden pure trials bikes, so I don't know much street geo wise. How does the geometry sound: WB: 1040 CS: 375 BB: 35 HA: 72 deg. I dunno how much that HA would change how the bike rides. Also, would the WB be a bit much for a shorter person? Thanks
