  1. Well thats what windowns wants, and if you buy the EOM version then thats perfectly understandable as its only meant to be for an original equipment pc which has one hardware config. However i plan on buying the full retail version once SP1 comes out, i have to buy the full versions as i don't currently have a legit version of xp :$ . With that i would expect to be able to install it on my 3 computers, as I own the license and therefore should be able to install it on the 3 PC's which I use, there's only one of me, so i can only be physically using one at a time, therefore it should't violate any license agreements. Thats how all other software license agreements work, so if M$ have moved away from that then thats their perogative i guess. Oh and btw, there's no real need for 99.9% of people to get the ultimate edition, the home premium will do everything your likely to ever need, thats the one i'll be getting having used xp pro and MCE.
  2. Thats not true Chris, None of my 3 motherboards, or any that ive had for that matter have ever had onboard gfx. Noz, Have you tried the other port on the card to check its not something to do with the port? Also, have you been overclocking the card at all? Finally, check the power connector to the card, if thats not quite home or not connecting properly then the card won't work. I'd say don't jump to conclusions that its the gfx card. Try one from a mates/parents pc if theres one around. I've done this before and ended up with a new hard drive when it was the RAM at fault.
  3. 30 hour lessons, was very ready for the test then so only got 2 minors and it took me about 2 years before any sort of accident so i can safely say i had enough lol.
  4. Athlon X2 outperform them on a £ for £ comparison every time, by a fair margin too. The Pentium D's run extremely hot too compared to the athlon X2's which are nice and cool. However, the Intel Core 2 Duo beats them both hands down. Even if you can only afford the cheapest one, go for one of them and you wont be disappointed, fast (you can't do a ghz comparison between any of them due to their differing architectures) and very efficient so run uber cool, so its easy to make a damn quiet system.
  5. to be able to buy an os oem you have to buy a major piece of hardware with it, such as mobo, gfx cpu etc. It also means you dont get technical support from ms other than the usual online things as your retailer is meant to take on all that responsability. Oh and chris the vista that is £90 is the really pants one with nowt in it, bit like xp home, compared to MCE.
  6. I'd have thought capable would be the run looking like XP with ready being ready for the aero interface and all it's nicities.
  7. Ah but pretty much every pc sold in the last 3 years is "vista capable", they won't all be able to do all the nice effects etc though. I think theres a check somewhere on the ms site that lets you test your pc for vista compatability.
  8. Jesus thats gotta be the smallest bore water setup i've ever seen!! Main setup Media PC Media Server
  9. There pretty good, a couple of guys at work got them a while back, if i was getting a new monitor that would be getting my money for sure. HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA sorry had to do it due to ticcy's complete lack of decisiveness in not buying a new one every since his old one was on the way out over a year ago.
  10. I may well not try the triple now as the TLD lid was too small so has had to go back to be changed for a bigger one, will see how i get on though Both Tic and me will be driving, as he's going straight home after.
  11. Hey guys and gals, me and young McTicalous are heading on down to chicksands (just south of bedford) on sat for a freeride session. Theres a nps standard 4X track, a load of decently built northshore, some drops of varying sizes, a full dual course, a few proper dirt jump packs, a few dh runs and generally pretty much anything you could want to do on a bike freeride wise. I'd imagine me and ticcy will be down there from 10 at the latest. see the link below for directions etc, it will be a fiver to ride the whole day in one of the best locations in the south east. I'll probably give the triple on the 4X course a go so long as i get my full face helmet in time so you can have a good laugh at my inevitable stacks. http://www.bedsfattrax.org/
  12. no mate half a kilometer you could build something amazing with that amount of track though.
  13. haha, its proper good fun. I've got one from when i was younger, but am keeping it as me and a few mates with one set each are gonna get together and build a massive track somewhen.
  14. The ride really nicely as jump bikes, 100-130mm travel forks suit it best. It's basically jump bike geometry anyway so it's pretty much as home ripping it down a 4X track. Even with some basic cheap components they ride really nicely. In it's previous form (before the upgrades) it rode pretty well for something that cost a maximum of £400 to put together (so long as you already had the frame). Just look for some old marzocchi forks and 521 on shitmano hubs and the rest you can pick up cheap, especially if you only want to build a singlespeed. It served getting me to uni and back for 2 years including bombing it down sets of stairs every day on the "fun" route home.
  15. Final stage (for the time being) is now finished. Front Enduro 4 back on, with Race Face Diablos bars and an Easton Vice stem. Also fitted a roady casette and sram rocket shifter so have got 8 working gears and a new seatpost after the bolt snapped on the old Kore for the second time . Goes like an absolute rocket now, can't wait to get her back on the 4X track at chicksands and whip some ass. People get nice and embarrased when they get beat by a saracen lol Now I've had to give up trials I've also bought a DH bike. Scott High Octane (2003) Gave it a thrashing down the black run at cannock and it rides like a dream. Soo easy to get some serious speed up and just floats over pretty much anything. Managed to get about 8ft distance and about 6ft vertical drop off the coffin drop at the end of the black run. Great fun!! For full res versions of the pics see the bike pics section of my website.
  16. you've got to keep it ginger, with the amount you get your bits out, the colar and cuffs wont match so you'll look like a bit of a penis.
  17. Hey mate, spec looks good now Just run that system through a power calculator and found that even with the cpu overclocked to 2.8GHz and using a lot of juice it will only be pulling about 360 Watts. Its a good idea to get a psu that exceeds that by a fair bit though as it gives you scope for future upgrades. Also the one you've chosen is modular so you don't have to attach the cables you don't need making the inside of the case a hell of a lot neater
  18. I'm a huge fan of dual screens. I currently have a 19" Iiyama crt and a 17" dell, tis really handy when your watching a film or something to be able to still chat on messenger etc or surf the net. I use it mostly for my degree when, like steve, was doing cad etc and needing to refer to other docs etc.

  23. adamtrials is completely correct, this is definately not allowed. If you wanted to contact him thats what peoples profiles are for, the no buying or selling in NMC includes this type of topic. Simpson, please don't help this else you'll end up on a warning too.
  24. Yeah thats very true. Hense i guess the argument for a ford, vauxhall or skoda i guess, means that you can pick one up cheap and offset the cheaper maintenance against the lower re-sale value.
