  1. Ah so i can run ring + spacer.. I didnt know that. Ill keep posting my progress. But im guna ride now sick of tinkering Im going to have a good trawl through tarty and check all the freewheels n spacing/offsets/compatability etc. But ill just havto go steady for now. Im only just starting up again after a.long time so wont be doing anything drastic.
  2. Hehe aw well i apreciate that but all.i could give u in exchange is a rear trialtek rim 19". Ah hope u get well soon bud
  3. Sutton in ashfield near Mansfield. Same problem mate i dont have any money now for a.month or so as i spent everything on the bike but yeh i would definitly do that, allways helps to have 2 brains onit! Ok i think the problem is a combo of freewheel + fat chain and the split link. Another thig now i cant get my chain tension correct as the crap freewheel is not perfectly round, so its looseish in 1crank position, then very tight in the oposite crank position! but iv found a happy medium... Im just gunna ride it now, iv put tape on the frame to indicate if its still cutting-rubbing and if everything blows up ill havto start again with the drivetrain from scratch
  4. Freewheel is a shimano cuz thats all i could get for free lol its a 30 click bmx one. I thought the chain was too wide too and the link you take it off.with sticks.out even further and i guess thats whats rubbing. What about freewheel offsets? Is that where the teeth are positioned? If So what offset.do i need.to make.the chain run closer to the BB?
  5. Okay bud thats cool..just need to get some doh to post it, your not to far from..me.. im in notts. Ill pm you matie. Thanks a lot guys.

If you need to see anything else just say. Thanks for the help. Mark
  7. Yeah i was going to go and look at it first but was like 400mile round trip... Its not a bad bike just not been well looked after parts wise. He said there is no bike shop near him so i guess he just improvised/botched what he could. Iv got pics will upload in a moment. Cheers bud
  8. Hi guys. Been having problems with chain rub and was reccomended to check the spacers on the axle. At the moment the wider spacer is fit on the disk side and a smaller one on drive side. Is that the correct way? If i swap them will my disk still be alighned? Thanks all
  9. Halfords said plain to me they cant be botherd/not worth hasstle/ dont sell the tool or cranks.... Lol wtf do they do apart from build apolo-crap.
  10. Ah dude! That may be it!! Is the larger spacer suposed to go on the drive side???? But then isnt my disk guna be out of line on tother side?? Just an update.. I got a 20quid angle grinder from argos and went at it like a boss... Ground it down so there was like 0.1mm left.before threads. Then same on opoaite side. Then hit it a few times n put a spanner on the flat bits i just made n it came off.like a prozies undies! Now i have a cruddy shamano plastic freewheel on lol just for time being. Does anyone have a freewheel that they want to swap fir a brand new trialtek rear 19 rim (drilled white tape) + a try all 108 freewheel stuck on a broken crank ( freewheel is working) - both those for 1 freewheel not attached. Thanks for all the help people. Mark
  11. I can do that if its not lots of troubble for you. Dont want you getin as stressed as i did though lol yeah ill pm.you a bit later on bud. Thanks for the help guys.
  12. I used tar back in day on 221monty. Then started using grind. Now dual disk. I liked tar except "pad stick" but not a massive problem. Grind is better if u ride in the wet. Thats about all i can say. Cheers
  13. Well herin is the second problem. The chain is only rubbing because the cranks that were used (red) made.the spacing wrong. I also have the proper echo cranks that he gave me with it. But they have a stuck.freewheel on. That i . Nor 2 of.my friends can get off no matter what we do..vice. Lever. Spanners. Blowtorch. Hulk force. Hammer smashing.etc lol. Now.i have 2 sets of.cranks. A.working freewheel everyrhing. A bashring... I just cant get the freewheel of of either cranks. Im currently saving up for new cranks n FW. But if anyone has any ideas or can do it for me for a small.fee please.let me know I have done one before but this one seems fused together by jesus power or science. I have one of those brad on the stuck freewheel. Thanks for the replys and very prompt
  14. Hay guys/gals Just got my 2012 echo lite from a guy on the forum and it has a few problems that I was hoping you could help me with. 1: the guy had fit cranks that had damaged splines and incorrect offset/spacing, this has caused the chain to rub/cut into the seatstay underneath. How bad is this? I guess its 1 - 2mm deep you can fit your fingernail in, but it dosent go all the way through and dont feel soft or like.flexy like its split. How thick is the frame in that area? Is there any way to repair this? Ill highlight the other problems after so not to ask 100 questions at once. Thanks. Mark
  15. Incase ur wondering 1000 atmospheres is about 14,700psi. A cars brakes vary from 1,200 to 2,000 psi and they are assisted by a vacuum booster. You are NOT compressing water with your finger/hand/lever/hammer or anythig...
  16. Well unless you use many many many tons of pressure ( like 1000 atmospheres) on ur brake lever (u dont/cant. It would bust) - then nobody is compressing water... And if you did... The more u compress a liquid the more like a solid it behaves. Basically ud need the weight of the sea above a very deep trench to get even close to 1000 aymospheres and still only get 10%~ compression. If ur lever is spongey its either not blead, bled! or flex from hoses/frame/levers/components etc. Not from u squashing down water....
  17. I couldnt agree more enjoyment is everything. Iv ridden trials before but many years ago. Now its like starting from scratch even though i know i can do better... U WILL get better. Because u know you can or i wudnt still be doing it . Duno if this will help you, but at the moment your about to do your manuver.. Think " this is easy" or "ill nail this" .... It stops u thinking " sh*t im guna fall off" Stop thinking about doing it WHILE u do it.. Analyse after or rehurse in your mind before... U want a posotive feeling as you attempt the move. Thanks guys, Mark
  18. First bit o' trials in many years. On my mates bike he got on the forum last week. Cant wait for my bike to arrive now. Also brought via this forum
  19. refer to how-to guides for prep advice... "how to paint a frame".. but obv don't paint it lol not sure if u need something before the lacquer but just make sure its clean. sure others will help you too.
  20. FFS, Internetz strikes againz!zor! .. On another note, well done on getting the bike back, think you all deserve a pat on the back for your efforts. Good to see you all helping each other out Cheers, Mark
  21. Sometimes the bridge is just wrong, there's a guy on youtube that bangs on about it for about.. all your life, but basically, if you have never had it rite, its probably because the bridge is out, (by a mm or less.) you can file but I don't remember the details so check out the annoying guy on youtube.. Hope this helps a bit. once I just "reset" the adjuster to a position where I knew it would be way out, then retuned the string and tried again, and it was much better, no idea why. just simply "starting again" I play a little, just now and again.
  22. If you buy a bike and get the details like contact numbers and addresses etc, and u have chat logs and txt messages and all the rest. and u specifically ask to confirm no cracks or dents... what can you do if the bike arrives cracked/dented, or if they don't send it at all. do you have a legal agreement, can you do anything, say if you paid paypal, or bank trsansfer? Cheers guys,
  23. if u ride every day then by 5 days time you should start to get hard skin callous's'esses (plural ) . u do need to give it a little brake if they are bleeding as if they fall off then you havto rebuild the callous again. try to get it to just before it splits, cracks, bleeds. then take a brake for a hour or so, then go back, if it isn't sorted, wait longer, u need to keep the callous! not chop it off lol, defeats the whole point in what ur bodys doing for you. (if you play guitar, callous's'esseszesses.. are common. and very useful!) Bit of man up + bit of common sense IMO and in a few days ull have hard ones that don't hurt, or split, and u can stick pins in them and feel nothing - After that ull never have any pain from ur grips again.
