Anyone else a bit sad when they saw the video and his leg didn't fall off?... Nope just me the sicko. ha ha Well done for getting back into it mate. I hope all goes well and you get right back into the sport. Good luck dude.

I use a diamond disc and just run the grinder at a pretty steep angle around the rim. That seems to give me super deep grinds that last ages and are amazing.

I really don't see how the wonkey brake mounts are obvious and the "consumer" didn't suffer at all everything got sorted out. We aren't talking about minor storage damage we are talking about brake mounts being welded on slightly wonkey. I don't understand how you can see that as minor storage damage. I'd have thought minor storage damage would be scraches or marks. (Like that really matters on a trials frame you are going to bash off a wall, not that it should come damaged but the odd scuff and scrape could be lived with) Not being able to fit the booster has nothing to do with select bikes its all down to echo.
-
I'm sorry how is that dumb? I've seen how select bikes operate and even another major trials shop and I'm telling you now they don't check every frame is perfectly square. This should already be done when the frames are welded together. You can't expect them to make sure the headset cups fit, the brake mounts are threaded correctly, the bb threads are fine and it goes in square etc. That would just take up too much time and 99 times out of 100 would be pointless. In this case there was a problem and its been solved what more can be said? I'd also like to add that the mounts being a bit wonky is not a problem in my opinion, anyone with a decent ability to set a magura up would be able to set their brake up fine on that frame. There is a lot of room for adjustment on maguras.
-
You can't expect a seller to check everything. Something like the mounts being a bit wonky would be very hard to notice unless you were looking for it. Most frames are fine but every now and then there will be slight problems.

"fook" gets on my tits.

If you don't get anywhere with prawn there's one here that belongs to JTM. I'll have a word with him and get him to sell it to you.

I'm not the best at taking pictures like but a bit of light in the zoo pic would help. The bike don't really look special but obviously that dosen't matter because both riders are really good. Anyway I thought I'd best comment on the bikes before I said this.... Where the funk is the spelling bee when you need him?

For some reason I thought you meant trails.

Ahh thats better.

Dengs a bit of a bad jock when it comes to seals. I suggest you buy a new maggy piston or use a newish one you might have spare in your brake. You'll probably notice its a bit harder to push in then the echo one, which will be a good thing. Anyway good luck and I hope that works for you.

Change your riding style. I found myself going out on a ride and trying to tap a wall for hours on end and not being able to do it. Now when I ride I look for mini sections to do then keep trying to do them until I clean them. Its surprising what great riding you can miss at your local spots because you are looking for a certain wall over bar height. I found the TGS kind of riding to be boring and repetitive but the main reason it pissed me off was because I couldn't tap/side hop 48"+ or gap 9ft flat to flat or 15ft down. I think a lot of new riders are missing out on a big part of trials the more technical aspect. I've seen a rider want to do a huge gap from a wall down but couldn't do it because he couldn't turn on the back wheel in the space of that wall. Now I've seen this person do huge gaps but that tiny thing of turning on the wall stopped him doing it. (If the person I'm talking about realises its him I'd just like to point out I'm not trying to make fun of him just using him as an example). Any way the point I'm trying to make is sometimes going back to basics and trying to do the more simple things better rather than going for the huge power moves can not only improve your riding but make it more fun.

Well you are a much better spring stretcher then me. ha ha.
-
I'd have to say you are pretty lucky then. Phil Williams did the same thing and stretched his spring and it was really loud and great for a year, then one day I serviced his king for him and no matter what way the spring went in his hub was skipping. I personally don't think stretching the spring is worth the risk though.
-
Please don't do this. Unless you are a machine and can stretch the spring perfectly you'll end up with a skipping hub. When the spring is stretched it deforms when compressed and is likely to push its way past the drive ring and make your hub not engage. I've had a fair few kings from new and so have my mates, none of them have skipped badly (unless it was something stupid that I did myself. Like stretch the spring). They do need a bit of bedding in time but there's no reason why you can't ride the hub for trials straight out the box. The key thing is, is to make sure the bearings are tight after every ride. Loose bearings are the main cause of kings skipping. What tends to happen is people get their king put it on the bike and leave it so when the bearings wear in there will be play in the hub. Remember they are Chris King Precision Components.
-
Again I can't comment on the Tensile I've never ran one. Its swings and round abouts really. If you want a hell of a lot more engagements though go for the try all.
-
I've never ran a monty freewheel so I can't really say for sure but I can recommend a try all freewheel.
-
Well if you consider he advertises on this forum then you could say it is fair. I have to say though I've never dealt with trials-uk. I have however met Dan Ko once as far as I can remember at the first DJ ride and he seemed like a nice enough lad. It just seems business isn't his strongest attribute.
-
Eno's are really good freewheels. I'm running a try all freewheel at the moment and I've had no problems whatsoever.

One of the best frames ever. I loved mine when I had it. However I now love my Koxx Coust V2 even more ha ha ha.

Are the two boys riding twins?
