  1. Ok, in asking the orical i work with some alloy and magnisium parts do have a helicoil type insert, either an odd type of external thread or a press fit/interferance fit thing, definatly not a helicoil, in his 30+ years A 2' cracker bar says its differnt
  2. Their a quick fix, cheap and easy. In some instances there was little alternative, helicoils cornered the market a bit
  3. Ive no experience of them on bikes but on cars , with the exeption of sparkplugs, helicoils always fail on the second use, or when the bolt is on the way out. Ive probably seen 50 or so examples of this. Im sure not every mechanic who has fitted them was a numpty.
  4. £3 each from wurth, its the tools that cost...
  5. Guess i missed the boat on theese then what do you do bud?
  6. Its gotta be bettter than spunk
  7. Seems lots of people are making bike bits recently, why not have a go at some slaves?
  8. Monster thread bump http://www.timesert.com/ I had the pleasure of a demo from the wurth guy last week. While his back was turned i got a 2' cracker bar on an m6 and managed to shear the head off the bolt, helicoil just became obsolete imo
  9. Does anyone hnow what size to get for this tryall? It looks bigger than 40mm but thats the biggest on tarty. I keep forgetting to bring a tape home
  10. In its day that bike owned i imported most of the parts, including the nokons, the brakes were insane!
  11. Ill take one in that maraging steel 0_o , ill just go and remortguage
  12. If the spring rates inside the slaves were adjustable they wouldnt be needed.. why dont magura do it?
  13. Aah reynolds... dude, given your standards, understanding and competance i think your frames will be well saught after. Mad respect on sorting that frame for the dude.
  14. Ok you are my hero On another note though, i asumed youd use a higher grade of stainless bud, bionic balls was quite correct in what he said chttp://www.makeitfrom.com/compare-materials/?A=Hot-Finished-AISI-316-Stainless-Steel&B=SAE-AISI-4130-SCM430-1.7218-25CrMo4-G41300-Cr-Mo-Steel The costs weigh similar between quenched and tempered 4130 and 316 stainless but the chromo owns when it comes to strength.

    Films!?

^dude ive been trying to dld that for ages, is it released somwhere i dont know about.. where can i get it
  16. Quote.. Steels are generally 66% heavier than aluminum but specific strength, the ratio of strength to density, is the property of interest for aircraft designers. Of the five materials, 440C stainless steel has the highest specific strength, followed by 4130 alloy steel, 7075-T6 aluminum, and 2024-T3 aluminum. AISI 304 stainless steel has the lowest strength-to-weight ratio of the five. Sorry i did mean to say high grade stainless but i rushed that post as i was on the bog *just a quick edit. Neon trials never said 304 or 316, scotty did. neon trials also went on to say £250-300 dependant on material
  17. Stainless has a higher chromium content and is harder than 4130. No need to beef it up dude
  18. Anyone know if its 40mm rim tape i need? I dont have a tape to hand and to me it looks bigger than 40 but thats the biggest ive seen on tarty
  19. I saw a capri on here so i dumped this here too, i have no clue why our customer wanted to go to this length!
  20. WOW thats poor! Look how pist that support behind the bb is.. imho that frames a scrapper, weld heavy and weak as piss, if you sort that mess out bud your my hero..
