  1. Yeah, thought that might be the case :/ they're both too expensive for my blood, might get the dremel out, do some DIY frame modification

    Fixies

I live in Sheffield, so its pretty hilly, not overly so though if I get the job at the place I'm hoping.
  3. I'm one of them. But I still think I'd pass on that, thing.
  4. Anywhere in the county of Yorkshire! Specifically, Sheffield, IMO its the perfect balance between Leeds and Manchester. Its got awesome night life because of the Universities, its got pretty decent street, its really nice, its the greenest city in the UK, its right next to the peak district. Loads of shops, got meadowhall shopping centre, and then the main high street, everyone's dead friendly, apart from the odd nob, but everywhere has them, and Sheffield has a considerable amount less than anywhere else I've been. And. Its got no southern city pansies!

    Fixies

Fixies seem to be a pretty controversial topic, and I understand why, I will be the first person to say I dislike every fixie freestyle rider I have met so far. But as a method of transport they seem more appealing than a standard road bike or mountain bike. So I'm thinking of buying one when I get a job, so I can get there and back bus free. They also seem like a pretty good way to stay in shape, and I know pretty much any style of bike riding keeps you in shape, but I imagine Fixies are more work cause your legs constantly move. What do you guys think? Yay, nay? Good idea, bad idea?
  6. Are there any brakeless frames in the Trials world? I only ask because I don't like the idea of having useless bumps on my top tube, like the idea of having a perfectly smooth frame. I'm not gonna instantly buy it if there is one, just for future reference
  7. Not to be a nob and promote my own Instagram, but I deleted the saved file so I can't post it so I thought a link would be the next best thing. Anywhere, here she is: http://instagram.com/p/qT3PlEHfvJ/ Finally got it to a place where I'm happy with it, bought it a couple years ago as a Diamondback complete and just replaced parts as they broke. Sprayed it orange and Black the other week, and now it looks sexy as. Front wheels is pretty much the only thing on it that's still stock, apart from the cranks, but I'm changing them pretty soon. Got BSD bars, VansCult waffle grips, the stem and headset are still stock, but they'll be going soon, not sure on the forks, picked them up from a mate for like £20 and they haven't broken in the last year, so that's a bonus. DMR V8 pedals, Fit FAF 2.25" tyres, rear wheel is a Cinema 333 Rim with a Federal V3 Freecoaster, the female one, with BSD spokes. Blank pegs cause they were cheap and do the job. Still need hub Guards, but other than that, she's perfect, couldn't be happier.
  8. Is it a whole new wheel you need, or just a new hub? Or do you want an entire new wheel anyway? I've got an old rear wheel I could probably throw you for pretty cheap, it's from a diamondback complete, and it's about 2 years old, but it's never failed me! £100 will probably be able to get you a decent one, stick to good brand names like BSD, Cinema, Profile, Cinema, Source BMX have got a really good selection of wheels, and they build up custom made ones for you and only charge you for parts, they build it for free
  9. I'm gonna be very contradicting here, but I'd actually say get the Rollers because they're amazing. They're great for literally everything. They're the definition of grip. Just be careful not to stretch the beads. Which most people I know seem to find hard to do anyway, maybe KHE's are just shit, or I'm just unlucky
  10. Bum flaps. Well the forks and bars are the two places I'm willing to sink the most money, and I'm pretty set on the arcade bars, so depending on what everything else costs I might see if I can get some inspired forks.
  11. Yeah that makes sense, I'll try the 12t on the rear. The bikes pretty much stock, the pedals and front hub are the only things that have been changed. The forks I'm definitely changing, gonna get some echo urban 24's as I've heard they're pretty decent and they're cheapish
  12. On my BMX I've gone through 3 sets of tyres which were wire beads, and the only reason I had to replace them was because they got eggs cause the beads stretched and tore the tyre, I've now got folding kevlar Fit FAF's had them for about a month now and so far no problems, which is longer than my old KHE's did. So I'd say kevlar
  13. I'm getting paid august bank holiday, and my budget for the upgrade is going to be around £200, I think I'm definitely gonna get the Arcade Risers, I dunno what forks or stem to get though. What do people think about gearing? I want a harder ratio so I can gain speed faster, but I don't want to lose the trialsyness (does that make sense?) Like I could quite happily have 25t-9t but then pedal kicks aren't happening, so what's the highest you think I could go to?
  14. Been riding bikes for 12 years, trials for 1 and BMX for 2 First bike was a grifter that my dad had when he was a kid. Turndowns. They can go die in a fire.
  15. The title says it all really. Its so fun! Its really weird as well, I don't know why but I feel like I'm better brakeless, I'm not sure if its cause everything's harder so I just feel better cause I can do easy stuff, or if it's because I've altered my riding style to basically the same as BMX, I've definitely got better at Manny's though. But since making the jump, I've decided I need to make some changes to my Bike. And I'm going to tailor it towards moves which I find the most fun, which are Manny's, nose Manny's and nose bonks and nose bonk 180's and stuff. I want it to glide off the floor like a BMX would, so I'm thinking higher rise bars, straight forks, and I'm also thinking a fatter front tyre, so I'm running two 24x2.4" Possibly a shorter stem as well. What do you guys suggest? Cheers Will

    Hub Guards

Need help finding hub Guards. I ride BMX as well as Trials, probably more so than Trials during the summer, as I know more people who ride BMX Anyway, I've just made the transition from pegless to pegs, and I need to know what hub Guards will fit. I've got a Federal V3 Female Freecoaster on the back, and on the front I have the hub that came with the bike 2 years ago, which is pretty much the only thing that's survived from the original parts. It says "affix" on it, but I've never heard of them. Any suggestions as to what guards will fit each hub? Cheers guys Will

    Army Reserves

I properly want to go for it, and I think I will, if I can. Only problem that might occur is that I have a heart murmur, and I know I definitely can't join the regulars with that, I'm not sure about the reserves though. Cheers for all the advice guys

    Army Reserves

Hey, so I'm thinking about joining the reserves when I turn 18 next month. Not because I think I'm "'ard" but because there's military background on my dads side of the family. And everyone who's been in the military have told me its the best time they've ever had. And its always been something I've been kind of interested in. And because I could really use the money. Reason its the reserves I want to join rather than the regular army is because as of September I'll be starting uni, and don't want to pack in my education. Was just wondering if anyone on here was part of the reserves or regulars and could tell me anything about it Cheers guys!

    New to Donny

So, I've just recently made the move from Sheffield to Doncaster. Although I'm still primarily living with my Dad in Sheffield, my Trials bike will be over in Donny, I've moved to Woodlands, (specifically the cemetery house if anyone lives round there) don't know if anyone rides round there, but be nice to go on a ride next time I'm over there, which will be this weekend Cheers Will
  20. So I've just finished my final video project for College, made a music video for my Guitar Teachers band, would appreciate you guys taking a look and letting me know what you think, helps me with my evaluation, and I'm also kinda proud of it :3 www.youtube.com/watch?v=nuGsagdAMys
  21. So, as the title suggests, I'm thinking of a Brakeless Build. I'm obviously going to keep my Zoot how it is with Brakes, I just want something fun to mess around on throughout summer, and I've been thinking about a Brakeless Build rather than building a new BMX. But I'm not entirely sure what I want, I'm torn on sizes, primarily I'm thinking 24" but I'm contemplating a 26" I'm not entirely sure what I'd rather do on it either, don't know if I'd use it more like a BMX for street tricks and lines, or try trials stuff on it. At the minute, I'm more pulled towards the BMX because I've already got a build in mind, and know what parts I'd get, etc. I'm also really wanting a freecoaster, which is another reason why I'm pulled more towards a BMX. But then, Brakeless trials looks so fun! So opinions/thoughts would be appreciated, and possible suggestions and ideas for builds, please Cheers guys!

    Films!?

Django Unchained is incredible, as are most films Tarantino makes Are we allowed to add TV shows to this? Because Game of Thrones has just started again, and that's the best thing to bless TV since 24
  23. Does anyone else find Stevie Churchills riding absolutely disgusting? There's just something about his roll outs and the way he lands that makes me angry

  24. It was bound to happen eventually. Was out on a ride tonight, found a little kicker type ramp thing in the street, decided I'd have a laugh and just see how high I could get off it, and try some spins (First time trying spins on my Trials bike) landed badly, and now my wheels buckled pretty bad. It's still rideable, you can feel a little wobble, but its more the noise that has got me a little concerned. When I was riding home, I could hear this kind of crunching/metaly bending sound. I've not checked the spokes yet, because I was knackered when I got home, and the promise of Yorkshire pudding was too overwhelming for me to stick around in the garage longer than I needed to. Just wanted to know if anyone else has had this type of thing before? Obviously I've experienced buckled wheels riding BMX, but I've never heard this type of noise before. Also, could do with just a few pointers on how to properly true a wheel, usually I just blunder my through it and hope for the best, I don't think the rear wheel on my BMX has ever been properly true, I just coped with it, and as I ride brakeless, it doesn't rub against anything, so it's never been that much of a problem other than when there's bad wobble. Cheers guys!
