  1. Unfortunately the situation is often complex and therefore requires thinking about. If I tell you to do 'x' without you really understanding 'x' then we're promoting the kind of attitude that got us into the current social predicaments; the blind adoption of predigested facts. How can you tell the truth value of what I'm saying unless you've spent time considering varying points of view, looking at the different facts, understanding the parts that you won't understand straight away? After all, we don't expect to understand an academic discipline or a craft instantly. These are things we have to develop in order to master an understanding so that we can deal with them properly. Achievement comes from striving. I don't want to tell you what to do even if I feel that it's our responsibility to understand human nature and act in accordance with it. I'll present you with how I understand things but we're not going to get anywhere unless people take the time to really grapple with what are sometimes complex social, economic and ecological problems. Life is complex and when we embrace the fact and try to develop a deeper understanding we live a richer life. It's unsurprising when people want to operate from bite size facts and basic directions when our schooling system operates in that way. Take fact 'y', accept it as truth on our authority, reflexively regurgitate it in situation 'z'. This is what learning has generally been reduced to. We're all memory machines. Well, this is slightly unfair because we are all reasonable to a greater or lesser degree but education definitely pushes in a certain direction. Nothing will ever change unless people take responsibility for the fact life is complex and therefore challenging. The most challenging things are always the most worthy though.
  2. I don't think he should be banned but I'm only trolling. It's actually quite enjoyable.
  3. Out of interest, isitafox, do you get a buzz each time you ban?
  4. The forum becomes a more boring place when people get banned and threads get closed.
  5. Man, banning him doesn't help. It still leaves his 'dirty secrets' hanging in the air although hopefully people aren't really giving credence to that anyway.
  6. Well, I didn't know your situation exactly and I was open to that not being the case which is evident in the way I phrased how I possibly saw things. I apologise if I'm wrong. None the less, there is the equally important matter of you defaming Inspired. Really you need to either elaborate on 'dirty secrets' or admit that it's nonsense. It would be preferable if we could speak about this reasonably.
  7. That's pretty defamatory. You shouldn't really allude to 'dirty secrets' if you're not going to say what they are. You don't leave Inspired in a position to defend themselves. You're possibly making Inspired look bad but doing so without any actual substance or evidence. My experience of Inspired is also of a company that spends a lot of time involved in R+D so that they can produce reliable products. Thus the long weight for the Arcade. I don't really see the issue with certain parts of a frame not being totally original but being 'catalogue' in certain respects. If the geometry and durability is good then what's the issue with standard drop outs? Originality for the sake of originality just means greater cost. Surely it's better to focus on what needs developing and maintain what's already good or fine if it reduces cost? Regarding the strength of Inspired frames my experience is of very good durability. Due to my size and riding style I have always broken parts very quickly. I've had frames last me only weeks. Although I have developed cracks in my Inspired frames they have always lasted me 1+ years and despite the cracks they probably could have continued for more. I would only change frames at that point because I err on the side caution. That being said, a manufacturing process is never going to be perfect. Inevitably manufacturing defects *will* occur and that's why there's a warranty to cover such failures. A one year warranty is very decent I think. I can't helping thinking there's potentially a rather negative motivation to this post. I've seen you also posting about Inspired alternatives that you're trying to sell. Perhaps that isn't the reason but it's a coincidence worth thinking about...
  8. Although the Inspired may *appear* more expensive in the long run it becomes better value because of its durability. If riding is something you will do over the long term then it becomes a better investment. If you're unsure about riding then the Onza is probably a better idea. Also, the Inspired's quality will make it a better ride although if you're new to the sport you might not notice the difference. It tends to be the more we ride the more we pick up on the differences between higher and lower quality parts. Again, if you think you're in it for the long term this is something worth considering. Second hand always makes something like Inspired more financially accessible. That is if you can find one.
  9. New update with videos, photos and the involvement of a certain distinguished rider in the competition's judging... http://getcreativetwo.blogspot.co.uk/2013/09/180913.html

  11. Update! http://getcreativetwo.blogspot.co.uk/
  12. I watched the video and it seemed to be talking about conscription rather than national service so I just assumed the OP had gotten the terms wrong? Edit: The same still stands for national service. Not interested. Edit again: Maybe it doesn't. My bad. Edit one more time: I mean maybe the video doesn't talk of conscription... Tired
  13. I would only join a war on its merits that I judge to be worthy and not because my government - which is essentially constituted by criminals - says so.
  14. Update! http://getcreativetwo.blogspot.co.uk/
  15. It doesn't really waste our time if you don't enter. It's only a case of adding your name to a spreadsheet, blog, etc. so go for it. I'll also help you film...
  16. Another update about prizes, additional sponsors, entrant list and two new competition videos... http://getcreativetwo.blogspot.co.uk/2013/08/lots-of-news.html
  17. Get some DT nipple freeze or build wheels with DT nylon coated nipples. These have made a huge difference to the lifespan of my wheels as you hold onto spoke tension for a lot longer. I easily destroy wheels but my current ones have lasted me 18 months and are still going strong. No doubt this relates to the rims and spokes themselves also but without the nipple freeze on one wheel and the nylon nipples on another I don't think they would have lasted me this long and still be in such good condition.
  18. Pretty depressed at the moment. Just hoping that those things beyond my control sort themselves out soon as I'm worn out.
  19. A video I made of my riding buddy who a fair few trials riders on here know so they might be interested and therefore I am posting it

    Tv series?

It's about a family run funeral home. Basically each week somebody dies and the dead individual is used, through the main character's imagination, to interact with whatever issues they are dealing with. The different family members inner world is reflected outward with conversations with the dead people. It's very intelligent, deep but also very funny in a dark way. It has the some of same producer/writers that were involved in American Beauty so if you liked that then you'll probably like this although it's a lot darker.

    Tv series?

Six Feet Under Game of Thrones Breaking Bad The Walking Dead The following two haven't been mentioned: Boardwalk Empire - Another HBO production like Six Feet Under and Game of Thrones. American Gangsters in the 1930s America during the prohibition. Amazing production value, acting, scripting, etc. Battlestar Galactica - I'm amazed how many people who like sci-fi films haven't seen this. It's nothing like star trek in the sense of operating on an adult level. Everyone f**ks up and, in a sense, moves between being a good and a bad guy.
  22. Your videos always make me happy, Joel. Great vibe, riding, production value and creativity. Also, you are a proper power house of a rider...
  23. You have such an awesome style of which I am jealous of!
