Just seen the price of the yellows....ouch £50 for front and rear. Can't afford that unfortunately! May have to plump for something cheaper, half. That cost (
-
heatsink yellows - i'll remember that for when i'm up and running! I've just bought myself a front hub. i'm using my big mammoth rims until i'm sure i want to do this and can afford a trials setup, but it currently has an atomlabs 20mm axle hub. so £20 delivered for an echo hub didn't seem a bad idea. once it's here i need to try my hand at wheel building! joy!

tried and tested by your good self? these are LX...http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Retro-shimano-deore-lx-br-m600-v-brakes-front-and-rear-/321315266739?pt=UK_sportsleisure_cycling_bikeparts_SR&hash=item4acfe1e0b3#ht_331wt_1184 or did you mean the newer black deore ones? i wont run a grind, at least not yet. am looking at the onza pads from tarty for £5 a pair - the reviews look good, anyone tried them?
-
Ah nice. I'm all about vbrakes though but I need a good setup that doesn't cost too much, any ideas?
-
"Easy" job then lol Anyone know why my frame is stickered up BULLDOG and if this is the original paint job?
-
Bing that's my plan! I still need a wealth of parts though!
-
Cheers! Glad it arrived. Sometimes you have to trust people. I wouldn't gift big money, £20 is an amount I wouldn't miss, although I'd be narked off obv. It'll be a while before its finished but I'll put my progress up on the thread that will hopefully end with me doing some actual trials lol
-
Me too, he wasn't good at keeping me updated! But its decent, well worth £20. Just need a parts list, endless pots of money and some riding skill lol
-
Its here!!! The dent is so damn small I'm not even I'm going to bother worrying about it )
-
not yet! Sent Friday with MyHermes but i'm struggling to get a tracking number from him. May have to withdraw my paypal gift if i can. if it's not here by tomorrow then i'll be looking to do something about it. would be a shame for 1 guy to spoil the trust people have on forums.

disappointed with this thread. -
it will be on the back so will need a sprocket for the front. if you find a buyer for your cranks then sel them as i an't afford even a tenner at the moment, but when the time comes i'll give you a shout. what length crank are they? being 6'4" on a Zebdi frame what length would you suggest?
-
cranks AND bb or just cranks?
-
Can anyone recommend a good Isis setup? FSA platinum any good? Not looking to spend a tun, or even any time soon, just so I can keep an eye out.
-
Cheers dude. Can't find anything lighter than the raceface so I'll keep for now )
-
^^ BB guru? That clears up a lot. was looking at getting a light setup for my commuter hack and transferring the square taper to my trials build, but i may now just plump for an ISIS setup for the trials and get a lighter taper BB for the hack.
-
What's as30 then? Expensive but very strong? Always wondered about ISIS stuff, is it compatible with that octalink stuff?
-
So guys and gals, Taper, ISIS, Octalink, HT2 or what? What are the benefits of each? In my day it was all taper but now if i want to upgrade my stuff i need to make sure it's all compatable!
-
should be being sent today - i believe by royal mail. crossed fingers fo Friday / Saturday delivery. need to make a list of needed parts.....
-
Couldn't see the orange on my work PC so just checked it and its ace ) really good to heme for the bike! Was thinking of running a long stem due to my height - would that mess the geometry too much?
-
Cheers dude, i'm about 3 hours from you so might not be cost effective lol. as it has a dent and its aluminium i'm not expecting it to last past my beginner stage, and i'm pretty handy with an aerosol (i painted my old car with £30 of cans from our local cheap paint place). sticker bombing?
-
Yeah i'm happy with it for £20 posted and was thinking satin black but can i be bothered to paint it? i'm not sure. might just hoon it together and not give a monkeys.... took him about 3 days to reply but then i noticed his mobile on the ad so text him. he used whatsapp to get back to me. although now you have me worried that it'll actually turn up....

You have missed something pretty important....where's the chain? ;-) Looks really simple and clean. Got a lot of love for echo 24s.

Alright there you lot! Had the trials bug for a while and have been mooching on here a bit, getting info and the like! Wanted to buy a full bike but can't justify the outlay so I've decided to Frankenstein a bike together from what's in my garage and eBay/pinkbike/forums. It'll take a while, and it'll be shit, but if I'm just as shit then I won't have lost much! So, today I have taken my first steps....and bought a frame. Its aluminium with a small dent. Nothing major for a beginner, if I end up being any good then I'll upgrade. The paint job on it is (I'm told) terrible in finish, although I quite like the design in a weird way. That's right, Planet X Zebdi if what I've been told is correct. 135mm and vee only. Perfect. I'll get a better pic up when its delivered, but if anyone has any ideas on a colour scheme I'm open to ideas ) Oli
