    oh....

I'm here in the states, and like these guys say there's some nice parts but the frame is a bit older geometry. What you other guys maybe don't know is 1gbp (1 quid?) is about 1.61 us dollars currently (two or three weeks ago actually made a purchase from tartybikes) so his $625usd is about 390gbp. And the hubs new are almost that... I think it sounds like a decent deal. And I payed more for my first trials bike.

    Urban Trials

A bit of my ride last night.
  6. Echo that came on a used bike still going strong, outlived the tr cranks it was on. Running a Jitsie on my new onza for just over 6 months. It's great- I did bed it in like instructed, without penetrating oil- but every few months it gets sticky or doesn't freewheel easily but a little penetrating oil (wd40) quickly fixes it. As a comparison the echo freewheels with almost zero resistance where the jitsie does "drag" a tiny bit. Jitsie is also very loud which I find confidence inspiring. I did damage an eno freewheel that I got used- terrible noises and regular skipps.
  7. Any bike could be a good bike! I'm also in the US and honestly TartyBikes (in the UK) is still your best bet for $ by using their bike builder on their website (I'll post a link tomorrow if you need, its bedtime...) coincidence has it also best range of choices. And to start if I were you I'd go on the "last years" model or whatever just because the difference will be feel more than performance and help keep the build in budget.

    Nothing Fancy

Set out to film the sidehop at 1:40... got a bit carried away.
  9. TartyBikes is a great shop! It's across the ocean for me and I still use 'em for most of my trials parts needs (and one bike )
  10. I Do use sime... but I live in the desert and more than half of the plant life has flat tire potential. AND tire pinch flats if pressure is too low... (although still no pinch with my der Kaiser) so slime helps with all the small punctures that happen whenever you leave the concrete. And I do ride a lot of concrete haha. And regular tubes, I found that heavy duty/DH tubes are more problems than gain (only on my trials bikes- they seem to need a bit higher pressure to stretch out and keep the tire on the rim) and no match for the thorns of the area so are a waste of weight.
  11. Pros and cons to both 20 and 26 kinda balances out... I've been led to understand that 24 is a bit of best-of-both-worlds. Being in the average/shorter range a 24 might well be perfect for you. My vote is always go for what looks fun. It won't last forever, then you can try something else if you want.
  12. Find an auto decal/vinyl guy, they can make near anything if you have a picture. I know of 3 near me
  13. I've also heard those complaints too, but 5 months now on my '14s and no need to bleed yet - they feel awesome (built and bled by tartybikes before they shipped to me with complete bike) and between the "reach" and "pad wear" adjusters you can achieve whatever "feel" you want.
  14. Maguras. I say 2014. Great brake. Older ones are maybes, new is like new, if you know what I mean. And not ridiculously expensive either.
  15. Get whatever looks fun! And if you want to cover distance maybe a bike with gears and seat?!? dunno... like old-school maybe what you know from ye olden days. )

    short edit

    Nothing spectacular... just rolling around.
  17. Just a bit of riding yesterday evening. Using a borrowed Mogamo (spelling?) fork )
  18. Thank you for the lesson. I'd only seen 1 of those... my newbie is starting to show again. ha
  19. This is too true. Early morning (before noon haha) is best, most of the skooter trash and little kids are still waiting for mommy to tie their shoes.
  20. I'm a skatepark dweller and I agree with everything else here too - seems mainly to be aware of your surroundings - but this last is it if you mess someone up, even by rolling parallel to or whatever, go talk to them, shout it out, apologize somehow.
  21. Mark: that was possibly the best thing I've ever read. Josh
  22. Sorry I'm such a dick... I've been stuck on things like that too (not Yet on bike cranks though thank god) And to get back on topic- my limey 4 with trialtech Isis cranks doesn't look to have anything covering the BB axle... only an obervation but maybe spacers are just for looks?
  23. Hmm. Regular 2 jaw puller makes it easy as pie... maybe your not mechanically inclined enough? dunno
