  1. Its possible he doesn't know, unlikely but possible... My mate set up a team called NBR and i didn't know there was allready a trials NBR untill i started using this forum and had allready used it in my name so there is a chance its just a genuine mistake.
  2. If you had it drilled and re threaded you wouldn't be able to put a chainring bolt in you'd need a bigger bolt. I'm sure a heli coil would work and they are usually stronger than the original threads. Its about 20 quid for a kit so a chainring bolt thread shouldn't be much at all. I'm assuming its for a granny ring mount yeah? If it is it will be fine heli coiled
  3. I find that you feel too high up on the knobbles so you get a lot of roll and sort of wobblyness one concrete or anything hardpacked, they are quite a soft compound but don't seem to wear too quick and no punctures so far (run at 35psi on a 521). I'd go for t'old highrollers or a mich over them though but not a bad tyre if your on a slightly lower budget
  4. My mate had one on a hardtail and it was utter shite. I'd rather have a maggie, If your running Kool stops they tend to last well with a grind
  5. I know CRC have them at 100 quid a pair, not seen them anywhere else. Maybe try super cycles, bikedock etc...? Sorr, not much help really :">
  6. Nice video, still some pretty huge ups and front touching gaps. Did you have your hand pinned or were they just cuts you were "modifying" with a razor? Are you doing any physio on it or just riding? Not long since had mine out of a cast and its still quite painfull after a ride but i manage to ignore it riding. Anyway top vid and hope the hands properly better soon. Take it easy - Chris
  7. Its not for an avatar so i don't want to make the actuall picture smaller, just the file size.
  8. hey, I've got a picture file thats 30,543 bytes and i need to get it down to 8000 but i can't. Anyone know how i can make it smaller? its allready saved in jpeg and on lowest quality -cheers, chris
  9. 128mm axel Not sure one the shell size sorry but wouldve thought 63mm
  10. I've found the halfords car paints are pretty good and you can get every shade of every colour known to man fairly cheap. Hammerite paint is pretty good aswell but in less colours and a more textured finish. Aslong as you strip it properly and then spray it really carefully (that guide is good so probably best using that) theres no reason you cant get a finish that looks like its from a factory. If your stripping the paint would you mind posting a pic of it in all silver? No worries if you haven't got a camera or wont have it with you or whatever but it'd be cool to see one in silver and nobody can photoshop silver. EDIT: No worries about the pic, just seen Tom "Lankeeman"'s video (Y)"
  11. Heres one in black, Bondy photoshopped it for me a while back (Y) http://img175.exs.cx/img175/4268/blacktrex27jr.jpg
  12. I had a pretty good stay in the ICU at Chesterfield apart from being rigged up to about a thousand wires and pipes. Really clean and they even had them pull down screens with 21 sky channels including extreme on the ward so i was well impressed, dead quite aswell, my memories of hospital were being on a kids ward with constant screaming and crying.. Not sharing wards with babies has to be one of the joys of being over 18 (Y) Oh yeah annnd the best bit one of the nurses was sooooooooooooooo fit, shame about the rest but she made up for it (Y) If your going to put yourself in hospital Chesterfield is a good un lol
  13. Really enjoyed that, silky smooth and just a nice chilled video, music went pretty well too. Its good to see so many natural vids coming through at the moment, they are a lot more interesting than wall after wall and there (nearly) always better to watch because of the atmosphere and all that. Top vid mate (Y) Take it easy -Chris
  14. Fitting headsets is easy, just get a peice of wood bigger than the headset cups to protect the cups and knock them in using a hammer. Dont just twat it though take your time and keep checking its going in straight not at an angle. Removing them is a bit harder. Theres a flange type thing on the inside of the cup. Sometimes your topcap will drop in and sit against the flange but you have to take one cup out 1st. Get a flat headed screwdriver and again CAREFULLY seat the screwdrive against the flange and tap it, going all the way around the cup not just in one place. Once one cup is out you can see if your topcap will fit in. If it does, i used a socket set extension thing to sit on to the topcap and hit that but anything that reaches through the headtube will do. If your topcap doesn't fit use a screwdrive again. There is a tool for removing hedset cups but the one we have at work is crap so we just knock them out carefully anyway. Make sure you remove the old steerer race and fit your new one when you fit a new headset aswell (Y)
  15. We've got an semi in on display in black so i'm guessing the other stores should have. Theres loads all over the place so you should be able to find one somewhere :edit: We being Halfords :(
  16. Maybe before you jump to conclusions you should read the post properly. I've been riding a cheap stock (t-raptor) for ages and it needs replacing since its cracked, the cranks are quite bent etc so theres not much that i could use to rebuild and most of what i would have would be cheap onza tat basically. As it happens i'm not a kid and work 5 days a week to pay for my bikes and racing . Fair play you didn't know that but thats a good enough reason to not start slagging people off surely :( Funnily enough i'm not a fan of spoilt rich kids either and theres plenty of them racing geting driven to races by there parents on the latest bikes that can't ride for sh*t. Just because i'm asking for peoples opinions doesn't mean you have to talk to me like shit
  17. One last thing to anyone thats bought one- is the bashplate included in the price? Theres no mention of it as an extra part so is it just classed as the frame? Good plug there mate :( Is it the Mod Stock video with HIM on the soundtrack or a different one? Don't want to download the same one twice :edit: no worries, checked the file names, downloading it now Cheers
  18. Cheers for the comments guys, i reckon a 16-12 would be about right for me so the ratio is no longer a problem. My build comes to 1010 with everything apart from brakes, freewheel and a headlock coming from Tartybikes. Spec will be, echo team, long team forks hope headset team stem echo bars echo cranks echo rims on echo hubs maggies maxxis creepy crawleys etc etc. Its going to be about 90% echo stuff then :( but its cheap (relatively) and pretty good so can't complain. Only problem is i've just put a deposit down on a new dh bike so its going to be about 4 months before i have the cash :P busted
  19. I'm very tempted by the Team, just the ss ratio thats putting me off really. I'l have a look at what the equvilant to 22-13 is and it will be around the gear i usually use Maybe knock it down to 20-13 or 18-13. I might just stock up on sprokets and have a play round with different ratios, see what suits me best
  20. Yeah i was quite surprised how small the file was, Very good video, the soundtrack worked for me although when Greenday came on i wished it hadn't :D" Some sweet riding, huge ups and sorta different to what you normally see with the lines. Nice one :(
  21. Yeah i'd be interested to hear your opinion on the Team in general. Also what ratio do you use on it? -cheers
  22. Sorry i know mod v stock has been done to death but i want the opinions of people that own these bikes. Basically about 75% of my riding is natural and i have 2 great spots a few minutes away so getting places isn't that much of an issue. I race dh so obviously am used to a 26 and i've been riding a stock for about 8 months and its time to start saving. I'm thinking Team but i'm still not 100%, mainly because i use 1st 2nd and 3rd for riding so thats 22-12 -13 and 14 Which would you have- team or control? Cheers and sorry again for yet another mod or stock :(
  23. I've had it between my shoulder blades and lower back for ages, started when i rode dh on my hardtail, went away while i only had the dh bike, now i ride some 4x and trials its back again. I went to the doc's earlyer as i could barely move and it turned out i'd torn the muscle due to RSI. I think i caused the first bit of damage 3 weeks ago in a crash and basically its just got worse. I've got to rest and go to a chiropracter (sp?) on Wednesday "for further analysis". My mates are all on holiday next week aswell :P
  24. Just been out riding a bit of natty and as i picked the front wheel up i felt a sort of tearing followed by a burning pain in my lower back on the left hand side. It still hurts like feck after about 2 hours and its quite painfull to walk. I also can't straighten my back properly because of the pain. Just wondering if anyones had this sort of thing before and what if anything you did to ease it. I'm not sure if stretching is a good idea really :( I'm sure its not a hernia before anyone suggests that lol
  25. he he. Its a bit scary the size of some of the transfers i've done in my beanie. I wouldn't dream of doing a step-down that size with no helmet but it didn't even cross my mind at the time. Is it the peak or mouthguard thats loose? If its the mouthguard i'd invest in a new helmet mate. Its not worth bodgeing helmets, you only get 1 head. (my hippocritical statement of the day (Y)" ) You can get a 661 lid from about 60 or a tracer for about 90. loads of cheap mx helmets in that range too.
