  1. Yeah, I've not heard of cracking the cranks or anything, it would be far worse to ride them loose! Having said that, you don't want to go tightening them up so much that you shear the bolt head - That would not be good. But that's very unlikely, and probably very hard to do. Just keep them moderately tight, and check they're not loose. If they keep coming loose, get some loctite on the bolts.

Even Apple's own aac encoding isn't as gay as the format sony uses. I don't care how nice they are, I would never buy one unless they played .mp3's.

  4. No I know, plenty of people learned to weld steel for their GCSE projects, it can't be that hard! Oh yeah
  5. It is nice to know that the person who welded my frame (Clive Leeson B) ) actually knows what trials is, and that he isn't working in a sweatshop for a bowl of rice a day. Let's face it, anyone can weld aluminium with an hour's training and the right tools.

Right, what you gotta do is post a picture that beats the picture above it. Say why, it can be for whatever reason you like, as long as there is a reason. Like for example DVD beats video tapes, knife beats butter, dog beats cat etc B) • No porn please  • If you can upload the pics, that would be better Ok, so first pic is nice and easy to beat:
  7. Yeah, but a 200MHz Pentium is still about 5 times faster than a 486

    Random Fact

I think that is to convert into text though. I'm going with Danny's answer although 100 000 is 32
  10. Yeah, if you say "money no object" I don't think there's much in it, maybe I'd go ISIS
  11. To be honest, I ride with square 'burns and they feel just the same as the ISIS ones I had before. I guess it might make more difference if you are left-foot-forwards, but I can't notice a difference (being right footed). Square Middleburns are cheaper AND so are the BBs (A standard UN53 will outlive any ISIS BB), which adds up to a pretty decent amount. Having said that, I think ISIS is cleverer and just generally nicer. I would probably go square if I had to buy some new cranks, though

  14. They are about twice the weight of normal cranks though. Fair enough if you really don't care, but most people aren't that, um, quixotic. I wouldn't touch BT cranks with a 10ft wheelbase BT, they just look like generic rebranded crap like Echo/Monty (+others) cranks. Either Middleburns or Tensiles are a pretty good choice, but I would personally go for Middleburns. You don't hear of many problems with them, they are nice and stiff, and they come in plenty of colour options. Also you get great service if you mess up a taper accidentally. What more could you ask for?
  15. The problem is it'll be crap when the chain stretches...

  17. Yeah, but there's not an option to reply is there?
  18. That won't work. Firstly XP installs all the driver settings so when you change hardware completely it won't know what to do. Secondly XP has a kind of copy protection thing in it to prevent you doing exactly that, so it remembers your CPU/motherboard/maybe a few other things. If any of these change you have to reinstall I believe. Anyway, WinXP is crap on a 1 GHz Pentium, let alone a 486
