You are reading funny reviews. Generally, most people tend to trust THG. Anyway, that aside, we were talking about the 6600GT not the 6800GT
-
You might as well just look at the bike pics bit of the gallery, but never mind. Here's mine, at the height of the colour coordination. Got different stuff on it now, a bit less blue, but meh

Yeah, you will need drivers. Try and find some sis300 audio drivers

Happy Birthday

Um, there's a couple of options. Crack it (easy, but illegal). Use something different like windowsblinds or something, and have another 30 day trial. Or, simply patch uxtheme.dll and you don't need to use style xp or any other program LINK. N.B. I've not used that file, don't trust it out-of-hand

I'd go for the ASUS... The X800XT is probably faster than two 6600GT in SLI anyway. The 6600GT isn't massively powerful (About the same as a 9800pro), and running two in SLI does NOT double the speed. Might be as low as a 50% increase. So basically, you would expect the x800XT to be faster anyway...

I'm sure that would be entrapment and therefore very illegal. However, your ISP can easily track what you're downloading. If the police wanted to, they could know exactly what you're downloading. Unless you're seeding lots of very big files, though, I wouldn't worry

Good  Just FYI, that is an Intel chipset I think, the graphics is built onto the motherboard. Is it muted? That's the first question! Speakers on etc? Really old versions of paint only do bmps. But I would have thought that Win2k had a more recent version that did support jpgs etc. Just use photoshop
-
Do you know you've got a picture of a semi-naked Jon Mac adorning your "trials" website? If so, why?
-
In control panel, system. Then get to device manager. I'm not exactly sure how you do so in Win2k, but I'm sure you can find it. Open the display adaptor bit, and see what you have in there
-
Haha, yeah. Even if it looks shit, at least you can look like a spaz by continously playing with it with your tongue...

Like s754 it would seem  eBuyer is most definitely not always cheaper than OcUK. People presume it is, and orger without checking the prices elsewhere. But I found some graphics cards that were over £50 cheaper at OcUK...
-
For those prices, definitely the PCI-e setup, as it's cheaper than the AGP one. As for the motherboards, not really sure. The Asus board has a slightly newer chipset (nf4sli rather than the nf4. Don't ask me what the difference is, but I assume newer = better...) Asus have a very good reputation though, and it is slightly cheaper

Yeah, I'm not sure on the exact legalities of it - I did think of that when I posted but meh  It's something along those lines. Maybe it's just as simple as they must dispatch it on the same day as they take payment.

If you really want the disk, I have it. I can probably MSN it for you to burn if you want?

On RB levers, the piston pops out all the time if you undo the TPA. Basically, wind the TPA in a little bit (Just enough to hold the piston in) and then bleed it. As long as you don't then let the TPA out (creating a negative pressure in the system relative to the outside), it shouldn't get any air in

So why isn't it working at the moment? What are your TCP/IP properties? (Control Panel, Network Connections, right click the Local area network connection, properties, click Internet Protocol (TCP/IP), properties). As far as I know, the NTL modems have DHCP build into them, so all you need to do is "Obtain an IP adress automatically" and the same with DNS server. Although if you're networking and you've already "activated" the modem, you may as well set it all up for the network, save you doing it twice

I would say that 90% of violoence in this country results from people "sticking up for themselves" - I.e when someone knocks someone else's drink over, and the boys have to fight to show who's boss
-
Worked for me  And as I said, I'd rather walk away from it than be tool who runs around breaking things, like you are (suggesting). I can't say I ever really got into any fights. If I did, I have no idea how I'd react though. John, what happened?
-
It's difficult... I would personally rather have a black eye and deal with it than be a dumb scally (). But if you don't wanna do that, perhaps fight back next time you get attacked (if you get the chance) - as soon as they realise you aren't gonna just roll over and take a beating every time they feel like it, they will probably give up and find someone smaller than you to pick on. Oh, and don't play football with dicks like that
-
How much are you paying? Because we're on 1.5MB, and it's £38/month. That seemed reasonable 6months ago, but broadband prices have come down loads, and it's not so cheap any more.
-
Innocent? If you go round twatting cars and houses, you cannot complain if/when you get in trouble for it! Stick up for yourself, perhaps. But going round smashing things? That's stupid, if you do that, you're a dumb scally.

Nah, you don't need it. Have you got a router? All the CD does is put the settings right and install the aforementioned crap. If you know what settings to put in, you don't need the CD (Other than to activate the modem, a one-off thing). Oh, OK, it appears I was wrong about even needing the CD to activate the modem. Stupid engineer told me you needed it. Having said that, the engineer didn't know what a router was, I'm not sure why I listened to him at all  I've not really had too many problems with NTL. As far as I know, there's been no downtime in the 6 months or so we've had it.
-
NTL are renowned for having shit customer service, so it's not really a surprise. But why do you want a CD in the first place? The only thing you need it for is so you can activate the modem. But if you've already done that (I.e. the modem works?), then there's no reason to have the disk. All it does is install shit you don't need (Perfect example being that crap "Broadband Medic" that does f**k all, but still decides it needs to stay running on your computer all the time...), so just don't worry?

Crumbs, that will be a beast of a system. As Danny has already said, go for PCI-e if you can afford it. It won't make too much difference in actual performance (Even the latest GFX cards come nowhere near to saturating the AGP bandwidth), but it'll definitely be helpful for upgrading in the future. The 3500+ on s939 is a very popular choice for people who want a very powerful system, so I think that's a good choice. I think the motherboard that Danny linked to is a sensible choice. As well as having PCI-e, it's also got nForce4 chipset, which is probably a bit better than the via pro on the other board. As for the GFX, yeah danny is right right again. The 6800's seem really good at the moment, in terms of value for money. ATI seem to have lost their way slightly at the top end of the price spectrum. Having said that, I've not really been paying attention to the new ATI cards (X850 series and x800XL), but I still think nVidia are the way to go. If you want to spend a bit less, you could get a 6600GT (About £150 i think), which will play everything out at the moment brilliantly (Especially with that CPU). The only other thing to worry about is the RAM. It would probably be worth getting a gig (2x512), but any more is a bit pointless at the moment.
