    Speeding

This post has made me more attentative to speeding too, along with the now super ridiculous fuel prices  I drove sensibly since I last filled up, and i have a fair bit more fuel. Then i followed a Fiesta home at 100 down the A1 the other night, and my feul guage went down at a crazy pace. So ill be sticking to the limits now, getting as much petrol for my money >_<
  4. Not bad, worth the day visit, not sure about much longer though >_<

    Mac And Video

IM now setup with my dv cam on mac, got the firewire cable in and have downloaded what i want off the cam into small clips. What Im stuck on is how and which programs to compress the files into mpegs with a reasonable file size. So far I have tried Final Cut Pro compressor, and converted to mpeg-4 file, but the quality was a bit poo and wouldnt work when i sent it to a windows pc. Also downloaded FFMPEG, but that doesnt seem to be doing much, may have done it wrong though >_< So what can you mac people recommend me try? Thankyou
  6. Its a h and a b Stands for Heatsink Bikes :)
  7. Im a doctor :) Cant be sure without checking and I dont want to be doing that :)
  8. We also had someone we know lost in the island last week at the Manx. Total of 8 I think it was that lost there lives this year, its some crazy stuff :ermm: Thoughts with you Mr Leeson
  9. Very nice Andy. You seem to have got about a fair bit with the camera " Nice mix of street and natural, maybe the music is a bit too heavy though, but itsd pretty good :ermm:
  10. Stop changing the dates :P Cant come now its on the 17th :D
  11. To clear things up, the one i originaly did about 19 months ago was based around the rennen design, then i posted pics on here and wa forced to make some people some (Waynio :P" ). Then it just came aout from that. Its similar in design, but I have never had one myself to look at, and its not like i use parts of them, as I make everyhting myself here. Edit, then the DMR thingy came along, which is even pooer :D
  12. Nicew idea Mike, but i can see watching 10 videos of exactly the same video clips getting rather boring to watch. Im up for the same format as previous years. Great riding doent mkae a superb video, and vice versa, check Sebs vid out for example, awesome editing :-
  13. I am now fully prepared to participate in a video comp too. Past few years i have been very keen but without the right equipment.
  14. It does stop you snaping mech hangers, due the tensioner being bolted to the mech hanger and effectively making it twice as thick. I would be very impressed if James snaps a hanger again (Y)

    Firewire Cables

I also have a question that can be answered here. I have recently got a Sony DV Cam (TRV 18e) and need to get a firewire cable to connect it to my mac. Looked on ebay, and noticed there are 6-pin and 4-pin variants. What do I need, and how can I tell which ones i need.
  16. The lever you see there is Patts after he return from the World Championships. Hence the "used" look to it. Kinda go tthe design sorted, playing with TPA ideas. Work very well indeed, feel good etc. Not sure if they are going into production though.
  17. But due to the vast majority of 26inch trials bike having vertical dropouts, that is not an option  Im currently lucky enough to have perfect tension without the use of a tensioner and a now stretched chain, so it should last me a while like this

    Vee

I have only tested it on my bike and Wallys, and we havent had any problems with that, though it was fairly close on mine with a 2.5 Maxxis. If this is an issue with this initial pair, it can be easily changed and brake boss moved up. Guess we get tot find out soon
  19. 24th and I MAY be there. Dunno whether i am staying at uni that weekend, as YMSA is the day after.

Mini man, may be able to help you out here. I have some v-adaptors in urgent need of being tested. You need some adaptors yourself. Pics here PM if you are interested :)
  21. Chris King (IMO) are the biggest waste of money there is. You pay a lot of money for a hub, which in its standard state probably isnt good enough for trials, so they make you pay even more money to "upgrade" it to what you need. Eg, Fun Bolts, King Cog, Steel driveshell (extras probably around the £100 mark to add on). I have recently got myself a Profile (the one that fits on mods) on my stock and you get, for a much smaller fee, big bolts on the axle, wide based sprocket, a very solid reliable hub, with more hten enough engagements. I cant see why everyone wants to pay sooooo much for a King, then be ripped off by having to buy other bits to make it withstand trials use, when hubs from other brands already come with the same kind of stuff. Feel free to argue back (Y)
  22. I have a ty175 that i use occasionally here. Been bored out to 210cc and was rather fun, but no way could you ride "trials" on it. Problem is it weighs a fair bit, the brakes >_< drums dont lock ;) suspension is hard etc. Used to have to have smaller rear shocks and a clutch lightener thing to be able to ride it (Y) My dad made a trials bike to tag along, built the frame up, forks etc and put a ducati 250 engine in it. Sounds soooo nice and smells good too (Y)
