  1. Firstly, keep your eyeball well pressed up against this: http://www.tartybikes.co.uk/product.php?pr...;category_id=10 That is being reduced £20 each day, but there's only one. The yabba 649 doesn't have a front freewheel. Which is kind of odd for a bike that's nearly half a grand. It'll make it a little bit more difficult to upgrade. It also has a 18t freewheel on the rear which is probably just an ACS (you might want to email tratybikes and ask if it is). The blade comes with a tensile freewheel, a much better drive setup, it also had a front disc, now the disc it's self probably isn't too good, but very easily upgradeable. Looking back at the yaabaa, it hasn't got a front disc hub, and the forks haven't got a disc tab on either, so again, make it very difficult to upgrade to a front disc which you'll probably want to end up going soon enough. You'd have to replace the forks and front wheel. You've got a t-bird now, and you've obviously stuck at trials and not given up like a lot of people do, but buying the yaabaa is not a bike you should be buying as a second bike at all compared to the Blade, the Blade is an excellent bike as is, and then an excellent bike to upgrade over the years to become a top spec bike adventually.
  2. TGS isn't really about being creative though. It's about going big. It's like telling a 100m sprinter to be more creative and just stop running from start to finish and full speed becuase it's boring, where as you should be looking at the absolute perfect technique and ability to be able to run that distance in 9.2 seconds. The guy you rode with wasn't being creative as such with the gap he saw, it's just that most average riders wouldn't see it as a gap becuase it was probably stupidly big.
  3. I had avids when i got the bike and they were both 203mm (front and back) and the rear brake was crap (they were set up poorly). I never liked avids anyway (whole other story) so got rid of them as soon as possible. I'd had a 185mm hope mono trial on the front before on m echo and was happy with it as a front brake but thought it wouldn't hold on the back, and the weight difference to go to a 203 from a 185 would be virtually nothing so that's what i did. And i'm glad i did. I don't really see any disadvantages other than a little bit of extra weight and the possibility that it might break under it's down power - which it probably will with the way i have it set up.
  4. So, the real question is why is the drive side of the bb reverse thread.
  5. I just got a czar had no idea how to pronounce it, someone told me it was pronounced t'zar. But it's zar.
  6. TGS is the name given to a type of riding. It was once called 'street', but after years of confusion between one type of street (24" bikes, with seats, more of a bmx style etc) someone came up with the name TGS and it stuck. 'TGS' is kind of a pisstake, implying that all they do is taps gaps and sidehops. In reality there's a lot more to that type of riding. TGS is going big. Just pulling off one move (a gap or a tap etc) rather than doing lines and usually not caring about their style. A perfect example of TGS is CLS, Niel Tunnicliffe, Damon Watson. There a lot of controversy over TGS, some people think it's not how trials should rode even though TGS riders are pushing themselves and their bikes to the very maximum. A tap is there you're going to backwheel a big wall, you let the front wheel hit the wall to help you gain some hight, it's usually considered a stock only move, but you do see some mod riders doing it. TGS riders will also do big drops, gaps to front wheels, wheel swaps, stright to backwheel (without the tap) etc. Youtube Video -> ">" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" wmode="transparent" width="425" height="350">
  7. Must be two people who reaaalllyyy want it. The link linking to todays t-comp is a bit of a trick too.
  8. Long story short your brakes won't line up properly. I've heard some people do it, but you're much better off waiting until you can buy a new frame - one that would take a 19" rear wheel, and upgrade both at the same time.
  9. The axel is shorter, i have the black hub, it's old.
  10. f**k. You're right i wasn't running cams on my old frame. I don't do 'making things' because i'm useless at that kind of stuff, so i'll guess i'll leave it as is. I've also just noticed there's actually only 1mm of axel in the dropout of the non disc side.
  11. But would you love it re-entering you that's the question.
  12. Got a monty hub, but all the spacers are on the non disc side. So i would have thought if anything the rotor would be too close, I've actually ran out of shims and had to use one of those things that screw onto an innertube valve to have had more to play with. I think it might just be in the right place now. But have i done something stupid? I've got like 5mm of shims. Czar frame, monty hub, echo smail cams, +40mm adaptor. Hope mono trial.
  13. I also would have thought a leaver for the thumb would have been a better idea. The whole idea of pushing the leaver down just doesn't seem right, but then again i assume it's one of those things you just have to try because it's a concept that non of us won't be familiar with in the slightest. Good work!
  14. When i was at costcutters we sold loads of the blossom hill and the JP. Can't go wrong with either. Some roses are actually supposed to be served over ice, but defiantly need to be chilled.
  15. I wouldn't bother. Just keep riding, it'll go away on it's own. Mine did. Is it new?
  16. If you've bought yourself a Onza Rip and want to upgrade your freewheeling system, you're much better of replacing the dicta 18t freewheel with another 18t freewheel. http://www.tartybikes.co.uk/search.php?category_id=16 I'd be looking at the rockman, or the tensile. Then all you have to do is take your rear wheel down to your local bike shop and have them fit it (getting old freewheels off requires a lot of effort and the right tools) and you're good to go.
  17. I was looking for your shoe.
  18. I don't think anyone made it clear enough... DO NOT ORDER FROM T-UK There's been about a dozen threads of complains on here over the last few months.
  19. You need a better disc, or a bigger rotor.
  20. I've always wanted to try one of them, but never had the balls, I can't handle strong drinks.
  21. Flatliner shot: Sambucca, tequila and Tabasco sauce. Better?
  22. Wrong. Shamrock Express Into a shaker two thirds filled with ice add a small shot and a half of cold but fresh espresso coffee (or strong filter coffee), half a small shot of vodka, a small shot of Baileys, a small shot of butterscotch schnapps and a dash of sugar syrup. Shake thoroughly and strain into an ice-filled Old Fashioned glass. That is.
  23. Having a longer leaver is not going to crack your frame because there's more push at the pads. Having a longer leaver is going to give you more power, but it'll accentuate the sponginess of the system. You'll also have to set your pads closer to the rim becuase of this. It's kind of a cheap, pointless way to make your brake better, really you should be looking into a better bleed, better pads, better breaking surface. Or maybe even a better brake if your not happy with whatever your using. I suggest a hope mono trial 203mm.

Watching on youtube now, they get the same kind of people every year!
  25. 1 Baileys, 1 coffee lacure, 1/2 vodka, 1 milk. Shake well. Serve over ice with whipped cream on the top and a little chocolate sauce.
