With the power of 20 men!!!!! Some times bolts get rounded through repeated bad tightening and retightening. Like not putting the allen key in proper like. Once you got the screwdriver in properly you can attatch some mull grips and other such devices. (love you too smithy)

Of course the hardness of the rim will effect the outcome. What I mean is the pattern, or the way the disc cuts into the rim will stay the same. People obviously do get different result with different combinations. I think alot of it also depends on how you use your particular combo.

ok. Not a crap rim though, not for me. Personal I dont see how a disk will work differently on 2 different rims. As in the style of cut would not change.

If/when I round bolts off I just find a screwdriver that is just bigger than the allen key slot and bang it in with a hammer. It should cut into the softer metal of the bolt, and then you can twist it out.

I totally agree. I had to pay £60 to get 6 working gears on my bike just so I could ride the first national, and I only use the one. I think it is more of a hinderance than an advantage to have one gear so I dont see a problem with it being changed. Just think how many more people would come along if this rule was changed. I think alot of street riders would come and have a bash at some natural, but this stupid rule puts a lot of people off. I know I didnt do the nationals in 2004 because of it. People are always saying lets make the sport more popular, more people get involved and things like that, but rules like this stop people rather than encourage. Our BIU rules have been altered slightly so that we dont have to have ankle protection at nationals because it was deemed to be a silly rule. I think if enough people get behind changing this rule, we could have it changed.

My brown Koxx bloxx lock real good on my koxx rim. Plus as wayne says, when you ride as much as him you build up good braking muscles.

My koxx rim lasted me over a year with roughly a grind every month. It has now cracked and has a big hole on one side. Now Im not smooth and I ride both street and natural and I was very happy with it. No problems with koxx blocks and braking, the grind lasted a month which I was quite happy with. It is a compramise, wide or strong. You cant have both.

What is the best thing to lube a sticky piston with in my mono trial? Also what is the best way to bed it in as my one doesnt feel too grabby at the mo. Its had new pads for about 3 weeks now.

Nice video scott. Shame you didnt manage to get more footage. It really was a fun event to be part of. Stuart and every one else who were involved/helped out did a really good job of organizing it and bringing it all together. The small comp was a really good idea, it showed the spectators what a trial was about and it put a bit of pressure on the riders which was fun.

No the mono part of the name refers to the fact that the caliper is machined from one bit of aluminium. They are definatly 2 pot, as in both pads should move to the disc. It may be a sticky piston but Im not sure how to solve it.>? Avids suck.

I have just put new pads in my mono trial. Had a bit of trouble returning the pistons in to the caliper. I solved that problem by removing the top cap and pushing them in so that some oil could escape. ( I think when I had it bled the bike shop left the pistons where they were, resulting in to much oil in the system). Any way I put the new pads in with the pistons fully retracted and then centered the brake over the disc. But when you then pump the lever so the pistons set them selves one of them comes out alot more than the other and rubs on the disc. Basically one comes all the way out until it hits the disc while the other piston hardly comes out at all. Has anyone else had this problem? Does any one know a solution? Thanks for your help.
