The UCI world youth games were held this weekend in Belgium and i have just heard the results from our 3 riders who went. Chris Vibert came 24th in the very big and very competitive cadet class Ryan Crisp came 9th in the Minime class (He wasnt hapy with his first lap, halved his score on the second lap) Jack Carthy came 1st in the Minime class ( Finished on 1 point!) So big well done to all of those guys who went, all had great results, the young european lads are insainly good, and all have great training, so we should be impressed and proud of our riders results Scott

Haha amazing! Have a look through all the old essex results, some legendary names in there! Good find Scott

Hey all Just put all my pics onto my computer and onto my website, from this weekends world cup in Belgum Got a looooot of pics! Not all amazing, but there are some really good ones in there. There's pics from Warm up, Qualifcation, Semi finals and finals. Of course theres pics of me, but also got a load of Andrei, Slinger,Beleay, hermance the cousts, Benito, comas. I thought there was too many to put on here, so stuck them all on my website. Head to the pictures page.( some are a bit muddled up) www.scott-wilson.co.uk Hope you like them Scott

Only about 1% of the forum will understand that, but it made me laugh! Hmmm it is a strange one. Yes, Joes world cup results havnt matched the top 15 qualification criteria, but he did make top 20 in france, and if you have been to a world cup, you'll know how hard/ competitive it is. But he has Matched the top 3 at national level criteria, ( won most of them i think?). So is british cycling saying the National series doesnt count for anything? Even though all our top riders have taken part in it this year The teams not exactly packed this year, i know andrei and ben ( im guessing) will ride 20" aswell, but Joe would of been our only pure 20" going there. It's a shame he hasnt been picked, but im not sure what we can do about it, or if british cycling will change there minds at all, we'll see

Such a shame, its a good venue there. If i wasnt riding at the world cup this weekend i would of been there Really disapointing to see its come to this, its a great club, best atmosphere of any of the comps i go to, and i know Terry, Hazel and Michael put a lot of time and effort into the club and running the comps. Hopefully it will pick up soon Scott -
The abant site looks good Enric I still check biketrial-spain nearly every day haha Look forward to the big secret Scott

Dream sponsor- Im lucky to have some really good sponsors atm, who all treat me well, so im more than happy with them. But i'd have to say dream sponsor would be Virgin atlantic -Free travel to comps first class and maybe someone like mercedes- Just for the hell of it. Oooo and maybe a milkshake brand, spend loooads on them each year Dream Bike- So far no complains about my new limey 3, so ill leave it at that for now Person to ride with- Once again, lucky to have riden with pretty much all the top guys, showed them all a thing or 2 . But dream person to ride with, Tom rankin, the uk's top 20" boy, and especially if he gets that nuts sponsorship Dream comp win- If trials had big one off events like the qashqai urban comps or red bull X fighters, that would be sweet to win

At the weekend i was doing demos at the kent county show with the kent youth trials club + a couple other motorbike riders. We put on 4 shows a day and It was a great weekend, we got some big crowds and everyone loved what we were doing. I was mostly having a little competiton with the motorbike guys, they would do a section, then i would, i also done a few bits on my own as you can see. I also took part some dual races against them, and i even won a few! The pictures are from the sundays shows, where we got smaller crowds, due do the weather, ( few showers and a lot of wind) There were plenty of photographers there from various companys so im sure ill find a few more to put up soon. Big thank you to the Ely family for inviting and the Kent youth trials club. Scott

Amazing how much you progressed in that first video Doing some very big moves now in your latest vid!! I think im safe on the competition scene..............untill your about 8,then ill retire when you start kicking my ass by miles! Good riding, keep it up Scott ( Your europea n Bck up minder) P.s.Ive got that same jarvis t-shirt , i feel very cool now!

Another reason i think, is age and our trials history All of out top guys are still young, all of them are under 24 i think, so compare that with vince, benito, danni etc Also look at the last wave of top riders from each county France-Caisso (still going) vinco, tibo, bruno arnold Spain- Canas, ot pi Uk- Ashton , hawyes , akrigg Dont get me wrong, the mart's and chris were all great riders, but were not really at the level of the others, and the mart's had the demo mentality, and akrigg had the street/ do or die attitude

I think its a mix of things really. I dont think as many of the brits have the same mentallity as the euro boys, I know we've got a lot of good, hard working riders who are all getting really close to the top of the world standings, but i think the majority of the trials scene over here is like bmx, Most people just want to go out on there bikes and have fun, meet people and dont care about competing. Whereas in europe i think 75% of riders want to ride comps. Ive noticed this a lot with the french, the amount of riders they have at the world cups, older established riders aswell as up and coming riders, and they are all very good, and do well, not just there to make up the numbers. I think this ties into each countries comp series. I've seen pics from the french/spanish uci comps and they are pretty much the same size and scale of world cups. They have a lot more sponsors, interest and a lot more effort and involvment goes into them. I think theres also a lot more pride in it, over here no one really seems to care that much about whos won what or came where in a comp, and over there the comps get followed and "analyised" a lot more. Sorry if thats just a load of rambling that no one understands lol Just a few of my thoughts on the subject Scott
