  1. but dude im doubting they will last much longer, thye ahd a fair few nasty hits on the jump bike! if i buy new ones and find i want to go back to rigid it is no problem-the sus can go onto my spare jump frame (excuse to build it (Y) ) another reason to go wih sus is cos there is no weld at the disc mount, ive cracked 2 sets of forks there so im hoping that the 1 piece design of a sus fork will stop that.....
  2. right since snapping my curtis forks, i found curtis wouldnt replace them and i couldnt afford to buy some new ones so i temporarily fitted some rockshox judy xcs that are about 3 years old and have seen better days in terms of abuse (externally they are mint though which is weird!) anyway ive had them on my base for a good month or so now and my riding style has changed loads, ive always been a streety style rider, but these have got me far more into those street style moves i currently have been doing loads of front wheel moves since fitting them and the forks arent showing any signs of breaking yet (ive fitted a headlock just incase!) i have them setup soft (im 13stone and they go through half their trvael when i lean forwards) with what id call a medium setting on the rebound-not fast, not slow-sorry its hard to be specific without showing someone... anyway i was wondering how many of you have used/ still use suspension on your bike? running really shit suntour forks doesnt count either (Y) i mean proper forks with damping... ive found so far that my front end is very high-im runng a titec rip stem on 2inch rise easton ea70s but it hasnt really affected my backwheeling (i was never good anyway ;) ) balancing is a bitch as the suspension is so soft it makes you wobble about (ive got them on the hardest setting and cant really be bothered to change the springs as i intend on changing these forks asap) bunnyhops are far easier, i can bunnyhop gap way further and as mentioned before going to front wheel is far easier i was looking into perhaps gettin some marzocchi mx comps in 85mm travel as they appaear to be the newer version on my old z4 air sports(and they were excellent), does anyone else have some suggestions? im not ruling out rigid as it had its good points just i want to try suspension for a bit :- i think ive given enough detail, any help would be great cheers, paul
  3. fair enough, all the bmxers ive spoken to seem to think they are awesome! anyone else had this kinda problem?
  4. fadom+freewheel=obliterated we were wondering what was actually wrong with odyssey cassette hubs? is it because they only come in 14mm and people dont wanna faff with their dropouts? or are the freehub mechanisms wank? im hoping they are good, cos a 14mm axle wouldnt go a miss on his bike :- sorry love you fadom also what are the odyssey 13t freewheels like on a mod? just was wondering if they would withstand much abuse-im doubting it as they have to squeeze so much into a little space but its worth asking
  5. i hope there are decent riders..........andy? shaun? why wasnt guy asked :- hes gettin a little bit good (Y)
  6. havent been out long enough to hear bad stuff :("
  7. yes you are right people say stuff before they try it, but are wrong about the parts being different......c'mon just look at them-obvious ones the rims, hubs, pads, i have bad de ja vou (sp?) when i see those forks too! even if they arent directly copied they are bloody similar! they havent got any really original parts....i personally think people are more pissed off about the way viz advertise-they give themselves a bad name
  8. i think he will be a little biased considering he imports them! but then you cant trust half the forums opinions cos most of them dont seem to have used their stuff/think all trials parts should last forever even if they do smash them into objects with considerable force!!! and yeah andy chais bike is loaded with viz stuff and handles very nicely-infact its probably the nicest mod ive ever ridden :turned: EDIT: ooooops siders77 kinda beat me to it (Y)
  9. guy you tit, you shudda told me you were going
  10. ooooo wicked!! im going hopefully :turned:
  11. nice pics dude, quite like the big up pic with the large drop on the other side (Y) pity it isnt a little lighter.... :turned:
  12. prime example lol, i have only owned viz v brake pads, but they are actually plazmatic spanish flies.....hmmm this relabeling issue keeps popping up lol-altho i cant say its a bad thing with these pads, as they have been rather good :turned: cant really comment on anything else by them as ive been scared off from using them (Y) and they are for 'natural use only' apparently...........useless to me as i ride street ;) ah well......
  13. really? so how come hope, hayes and most other manufatuers use dot? and why do cars and motorbikes use dot? sorry not questioning your intelligence, just confused....
  14. presumably when the rules were written there was only technology for 6 speed at the rear...just a guess? unless they already had 7 and 8 speed out by then i dont participate in comps yet, and this does put me off from trying as i run single speed although i have all the bits ready to change if i like.....just hassle i suppose
  15. like curtis bikes :D" mbuk lick their arses (Y) o yeah just seen pic, well done :D
  16. looks ok, wanna run a tensioner on there though, how the hell can you afford those kinda parts, you are 13?? wen i was 13 i was chuffed to hell owning a saracen x ess with zone forks and sram gearing........ fair play though, as long as you can ride it well, theres no problem
  17. im using an old ddg 1, its great, im not sure if they make them still though
  18. whose would that be :)" he he,boosters, well magura boosters do a fine job as i told you on msn ben, then xtr carbon boosters are rather speacial too but they fit onto the post mounts so you still need to run a magura booster
  19. rity i havent had any proper experiences with a hope mono trial so cant comment on them really, ive only quickly tested them but have owned several hopes inc the 4pots which were good but then i got an avid.....immense i had a 160 and it was really nice, plenty of bite but in the end lacked power for a 13stone rider doing frontwheel gaps(well trying :"> ) i was running an xtr lever on a clarks cable(10quid thing from crc) now i have a 185 avid with nokon cable and an ultimate lever fookin amazing, silly smooth and light, better than any hydraulic ive ever used(mainly hopes) it doesnt suffer from fade as far as i can tell and i like my stoppies now alot more since i got suspension upfront it has tremendous hold and yet retains enough modulation to keep if safe tis a damn fine brake and i recomend it alot it really is worth paying the extra for nokon cables, they make sooo much difference in the feel of the brake. i also think its worth paying out for a lever such as an xtr or an avid ultimate as they make the brakes feel way better  but really a 2quid cable and outer and a cheap avid/shimano lever will still make the brake feel superb (Y)

    Snapped

it is stupid lol, you cant really fix a broken steerer, espeacilaly on alu forks :P and brazing alu wont work....
  21. wow a black zero, great, why didnt you do it an interesting colour, it just looks the same as any other 1 now....
  22. oi ben you b*****d! im silky smooth ;)" nah im nout speacila, have my bad days lol, my frame is almosy a year old and shows no signs of breaking yet (Y) if it does/when it does snap i will probably purchase another as i was so impressed, or if i can afford to get a leeson made up, in 24inch based upon base geometry :)
  23. just get another kmc and go single speed.nah sorry i cant help you out with the chain, there are very few 9 spd chains that are any good for trials as the tyre is 2ply, it will be hefty enough to require just a standard tube, if you are a real b*****d rider who runs you tyres low and smacks into everything thern maybe a dh tube may be a good investment....heavy though
  24. that doesnt prove much, if you did it all the time then maybe it would prove something-musta bloody hurt anyway :) go for a base dude, they are the tits :)
  25. presumably your no running hayes mount forks? if not then whers the prob mate? just order the braket for the avid 185 and you are away :) it works believe me-i was faffing around with an avid and a few hayes a while back on my cousisns bike and they all were interchanagable :P
