  1. What do ride at the moment? How tall are you? whats your riding style? street/natural? 20"/26"? bothered about weight?
  2. It's all in the butting of the bars. The more that goes into the making of them the stronger they will be i think. Hence better bars can be abit more heavily priced. But thats not stoped me buying the cheaper bars. Look at some modern DH bars im sure they will be some that will like if you don't want trials bars.
  3. If it aint broke don't fix it. Unless it really is holding your progress down, but it may happen naturally. As you get better, parts break, you get nice spangly new things and then your riding gets even better. I find people who started on a shocking bike are better at riding in the long run.
  4. Just read this which is rather annoying: Left hand cranks are 20 times more likely to sustain irrepairable damage than Right hand cranks. In recognition of this Onza and Tensile offer individual replacements for the left hand version of all their cranks. Your gonna have to splash the cash. Freewheels aint cheap for a good one. Try ring supercycles/tarty/who ever stocks onza to see if they have a right hand crank.
  5. I started on one of those. Awsome. Watch out for the back end twisting though! You want to get a shortish high stem, high rise bars for the streety parky stuff. Make it into a bunnyhop machine. Front and back discs maybe but personally i'd go rim brakes so no broken rotors when your throwing bike around. You might want a hardish gear ratio so you can get some speed going. Maybe run two sprockets on the back, one trials, one for speed. Err what else...You can actually run 24" can't you because the maggie mounts have a lower down bit. Never seen it done though, be interesting to see as seen as the chainstays are supershort so technically it shoudn't feel too bad. (I dunno).
  6. Remember if you change them quite drastically you may have to get used to them. Like getting used to a new frame. So thats a possibility on why they feel weird. Mine are around the 45 deg mark. Rob
  7. Did Monty used to make them alooonnggg time ago? You never know, someone on here might have one kicking around? Probably a bad idea because it'll be pants by todays standards.
  8. If you hate reading. I have an old snm racing 24"...feels like crap and must weight the same as me. Sunday for the win but i want to slap Jim round the face.
  9. I used this - remeber over over under aaannndd skip a hole (i think lol). Theres 2 vids to this 2.1 2.2 i think. Edit ; Aaahh DAMN.....36 hole.....ssoorryy
  10. Do you mean your gona ride it hard and batter the hell out of it on black runs? Maybe not so much for that but it'll be fine on singletrack and the bumpy stuff.
  11. What he said ^^^^^ I had a downhill frame that cracked....had a beautiful weld put on it.....went out did a few drops and the tube ripped from the edge of the weld because the heat made it so weak in that area. Just ride it till it breaks.
  12. What brake is it? Hope?
  13. Im sure he will. End of the day they'll get smashed off and it gives the bike a cleaner look.
  14. raab himself Still playing in my mind wether to get a long version of these. arrrrr
  15. one thing....take the reflectors off the pedals please.....then niicceee...had a go on one up at addingham moorside.....felt suprisingly nice light flicky..
  16. wow thats quite a good looking bike and quite a nice spec for the money....yeah should be fine for xc etc. and if it dosnt jump well you can always buy a new frame later on like an orange crush frame which, as far as i can remember, are built for a good thrashing...dunno bout the fork but rockshox in my memory are tough. Even the lower priced ones.... enjoy
  17. You could weld it BUT it can potentially weaken the area around the weld...aluminium - when its cracked - its cracked. Maybe better to leave it for abit, keep an eye on it and save up for a new frame. Can you get warrenty on it??
  18. I need to stop missin these.....ride a sunday damnit! Nice piccys

You seem really stiff on stock. Good riding mind considering you went from mod to that.
  20. Maybe if its temp. Nuke proof generator. Wait a sec and ill see how much they are before i make a fool out of myself, Yeah go for the spin docter lol. If its temp why not. I take it youve read the reveiws on chain reaction cycles. Look on ebay as well - Some guy round the corner from you might have cheapy hope xc lying around?
  21. Yeah i do the same. Just find it weird taking my finger off just to put it back on the lever again. Plus seeing the front wheel spin is off putting Come to think of it, i definently have my finger on the lever. Not sure if i have it in though. This is well messing with my mind now. Rob
  22. Is it quiet / loudish - Sounds good so ive heard Strong / shite - Not for trials. Ive heard them go on people who just use them for dirt jump who havn't had them that long - Get a Pro2 Trials, its so worth it in the long run, I used to run xc but they just don't last long enough. My pro2 recently cracked but thats after 2 years use and hope replaced it for free. Send the xc back on warenty and start savin the pennies. (Also try and stay clear of using hope bulbs for trials cause they feck up easily as well Hope this helps. Rob Edit: this is for trials right? lol
  23. Amazing mate. Well done. You wantin to get a job in the bike industry? Rob
