  1. is that a gamut bashguard on the intense?
  2. loving the raceline yellow maggy! but am i missing something or where is your front disc? lol
  3. I did say LONG TERM repercussions. I quite clearly did not suggest that taking pills makes you psychotic within a week, although considering psychosis is a state in which a person loses touch with reality, its not That far fetched to suggest that drugs can result in psychotic behaviour. I was hoping my opinions wouldnt be interpreted in such a simplistic way, but what can you do
  4. My view on illegal drugs, by way of a pro/con list PRO - yes, if you're lucky, ecstasy or other choice drug may enhance your good time CON - it may make you feel like shit CON - who knows where it came from and exactly whats in it? (pill from a little plastic bag in some dodgy blokes pocket doesnt exactly come with a quality guarantee) CON - because of said dodginess, there is the chance you might just die CON - long term repercussions (mental health problems later in life, eg schizophrenia from cannabis use, the risk of dependency) CON - you are supporting an illegal market, most probably benefitting some horrible scumbag who really doesnt deserve it. CON - having said little pill in own pocket may result in Mr law enforcement being rather annoyed at you. CON - drug of choice may well hav been up someones arse to allow safe transportation. No thankyou.
  5. Ironically i dont even see any tar on that rim in the picture
  6. When bunnyhopping from a manual, the front wheel isnt touching the ground, so any compression before liftoff isnt shown in the forks. I think he meant its impossible to bunnyhop from both wheels on the ground without the fork compressing a bit, well unless you have a lottttt of compression damping on.
  7. is that a mono mini brake or a mono trial with a gold piston cover?
  8. Then what on earth is at the top of my beanstalk?
  9. Im from belfast, have been there myself, but unfortunately without a bike, as apparently a large giant by the name of "Finn McCool" will crush your bones and make bread with them if you ride there or something. But if i recall correctly, Akrigg rode there in MBUK once.
  10. My reason for asking about the front wheel was just that it looked like a Syncros Big Box rim, which I didnt think we're available aftermarket, only on GT mountainbikes, around 2004/2005, as i own one myself. Did you ever own a GT mountainbike that the wheel came on? You know you're a bike nerd when you notice such little things lol Excuse my excessively detailed personality
  11. looks great! what front wheel set up are you running?
  12. Even though just grinding your rim every so often is sufficient for even the best riders, i suppose some people are just interested in how the performance of products can be improved, no harm in seeing if you can get your brake to work even better.
  13. Absolute bargain mate! Seeing as your starting out, dont bother going overboard with upgrades, just make sure things like contact points (pedals, handlebar grips, brake levers) are all decent enough, as you'll appreciate those the most. And a decent set of rear brake pads too, and you'll be flyin'! And as for tyres, seein as thats a 20inch rear wheel, Onza StickyFingers are your best bet. They do a 20in rear, instead of having to run a lighter, thinner 20in front tyre like a creep crawler Welcome aboard
  14. Your green hope makes me green with envy!
  15. your forks are just playing an April Fools joke on you, They'll be fine again tomorrow! just you wait! lol
  16. Unlucky! Im sending you sympathetic brain waves! Although you can just imagine some wee scumbag gettin on a fixie - "mate! WTF!!! the pedals wont stop goin round!!!" so hopefully he'll fall off it and land on his thick head run home to his pig sty and you'll find it again:) best case scenario!
  17. yea there about about a million threads on vee setups v quickly though a decent set up would be sd7 arms and lever, set up with as little spring tension as possible, and an odyssey linear cable
  18. XC racers in the majority of situations are using discs nowadays (a LOT of suspension forks have only got disc mounts) But in particularly dry situations or if you're a realllll weight weenie, V brakes are used Rarely see hs33s on mountainbikes these days.
  19. What would classify as "other"? And what trials rider runs no rear brake? Well chris akrigg does i think But i doubt many others!
  20. where do you work at this time of night streetjibs? and is browsing trialsforum part of your job description?
  21. i see the tartybikes raffle has been closed and won! does the winner use trialsforum? lucky beggar gets a custom built bike!! lets hope he picks somethin good and shows us:D
  22. www.chainreactioncycles.com sells them i bought the basic one, with no rev counter or flashy lights etc last week and it is fantastic!!! noticeable increase in strength of forearms and overall grip! great fro reducing arm pump!
  23. A mate of mine has a GT Avalanche, with 2005 HS33s with Evo mounts attached to vee mounts However there is a fair amount of rather noticeable flex on the back brake So he's considerin a nice big thick trials brake booster for it. With such long seatstays on this XC bike compared to a trials frame, and with them bein pretty flimsy compared to the stiff back ends of trials frames, the stiffest booster (but without out spendin a ridiculous amount of cash) is wanted. With myself being an Avid vee brake use (excuse the pun ) i dont have much experience with brake boosters. Anyone fitted boosters to mountainbikes on here? Recommendations for which one would be much appreciated.
