the new 2007 echo/zoo forks that tartybikes have just got have beefed up steerer tubes.i had knifens a long time ago but changed them because of the weight and got some fattys i think.get a nice set of urbans or control forks. craig

im running an avid juicy 7 carbon 203 with fibrax semi-metallic pads and its the shiz.ali is right though,if you aint got a 200mm mono trial thats been tweaked a bit then the bb7 is spleen burstingly powerful and cheap to boot!not only are they cheap but avids fitting system make boshing them on rediculously easy,that'll be my next choice if i dont have any luck with mine. hope it helps craig

the amount of money to get one made would be rediculous.to make frames out of carbon is a lengthy process which aint cheap.even if its manufactured in japan.carbon is very temperimental after a knock.alot of you on the forum will know that carbon shatters when it recieves a jolly old bang.theres a road race called the rond de vlaanderen(spet wrong probably but it is dutch or german),one of the trademarks of this race are long cobbled climbs and decents.some top road racers bars ended up shattering because of it(vibration only!!).i'd hate to do a drop gap on a carbon frame or any sort of trials for that matter.even if they beefed it up to the max it would weigh the same as a decent aluminium frame but cost 10x that maybe. craig

ali is the number one adamant hater!lol in all honesty though ive battered mine an ive put a nasty gouge in the downtube so im looking into something new.....and low!i thought about the pure to mellow my riding out a bit.ali hit the nail on the head,backwheeling everything in sight aint competition riding.ive got vids on the forum of me riding mine.take a look. another factor is how long youve been riding low bikes for,youll get used to a a1 but it may take a while.you can get used to anything you put your mind to. i think the new or 06 control or the 06 pure are no frills bike.its a nice change from all the bendy toptubes etc imo. craig

coust pads work best on a sharp medium grind for a fair bit of power but if you put a harsh grind on and noy only will your brake be mint but your ear drums will pop! craig
