  1. Hiya mate, have a google around for race bikes, orange race bikes, orange black, track bikes race bikes. Look for other kinds of bikes too for designs that you might like. One that works for me when i want a new design is to go on an owners forum, like i've been on the R6-forum, and they always have post your favourite pics, bike of the month pics, etc etc. Always good designs in them, and lots of custom paint jobs with nice ideas Bongo
  2. I'm pissing myself reading your post John! Defo do need to catch up! We should go to wales for a weekend. I got a caravan remember lol...
  3. Been away for a week or so and just see this again. Adam them pics haha, i remember doing them hahaha what a weekend!
  4. Lol @ Ben. Not into the third scenario really, although at the rate i'm going with the racing, i'm not counting it out... To look at the previous 10 years kind of proves you cannot predict the next. I haven't got a clue about what might happen, or even what i'd like to happen. Not much of the last 10 years were planned, yet i'm happier than ever, so, i guess to remain as happy and content as i am now, for the next 10 years will be good for me, and however that comes about along the way i'm easy with. Right now i'd say it's likely i'll be in the same job, or working for the same employer at least, which is BT, and i'd like to be a respected racing instructor. I'd like to be racing at the sharp end of british club racing, with a house, something that has so far eluded me in my 27 years, and as far as a family goes, i can't see kids fitting with my lifestyle. i'm not a fan of children really.
  5. Max, i've as good as packed in mate yeah. I've never said one day "that's it", and i do go to Rampworx and play every so often. The riding isn't so important anymore, i don't miss it. I still see my mates from bmx so it's all good. Anal, i know lol i was actually thinking it was faggish as i was writing it hahaha. Had some good times though! Remember our hissy fit in Southport lol. Over literally nothing, we wanted to twat each other and literally 5 minutes later we were having a blast on the walls again!!! And Bucky, cars and girls??? Or vans and girls?!
  6. Cheers Ali lol, i remember plenty of days watching in amazement as you did stupid things round Hebdon, Shipley and Addingham lol. Silly skills. JD i'm going to be racing in the Thundersport GB F600 championship mate. Nothing now until next year though, if same as this year it'll be on throughout the year on Motors TV. Mallory park round is on at the moment on Motors actually, and in the last F600 race you will see my mate racing my bike after he broke his. Orange #177. He crashes it too i got all reminiscent this morning with this lol. It's been good though! Bongo
  7. Hi all! It's been a while! I guess facebook changed a lot about the importance of forums to at least know what people are up to. I've been out of trials for what seems like a lifetime, and it seems ridiculous that i still miss this forum, more than you think! It's still the sport, and the place, that started my complete and utter love for riding anything with two wheels though. I Started riding about 10 years ago, and looking back at all the years, nothing played out how i expected, and i'm in a completely different place to where i ever could have imagined. I guess most of us would say the same? My job, fair enough, it's been the rock of consistency and boringness in my life, which sometimes i half wish wasn't there, as i was in a career job from the moment i finished A levels, in BT. 10 years in and it is how it is. Boring, often, but it is merely a tool to provide me with the cash to fund the life i'm choosing to lead, which is proving to be a bloody expensive one! Trials was a massive part of my life. It was the turning point of my life, the point where i knew i had found 'my sport', as far as two wheels anyway. Thiking back to the trials years though, and my great memories aren't sidehops or gaps, but moments with mates, many or whom i met through this forum. Weekends in Preston with Matt, Chris, Stan and the preston boys. Going up to Keighley and having the Yorkshire weekends at Addingham and Shipley with Wayne, Mark and the boys. Then the countless drive ous all over the country, and local rides with John the mong, Anal, Phil Williams, DLB and Ian Thornton when he was up these ways! It's always the people that bring the memories back. Even now, and i have no idea why, i immediately think of Beeco at Shipley when i hear Kings of Leon! He was singing Mollys Chamber on a rock and i'd never heard of them before. Weird tiny memory that'll never go lol. Weird! Going to Loughborough and staying with Tart and Dave too! Remember the frog lads?! It's the small memories that are the best. One of the most terrible times was obviously the DJ days. That timet left me with some of the most incredible memories i wished i never had to have though. He'll never be forgotten though and credit to this forum once again, as he's another top top bloke who i met through here. His funeral was still one of the most emotional and amazing days of my life. To think how that day was in still unreal. I'm not sure why i'm bothering typing this, but it just feels good to think back. It's always been so much more than riding though, and only in hindsight do i realise this. This forum has changed and evolved to the point where i guess i barely know anyone on here anymore, but i'm proud to have been a part of it from the old days where to me, it was in it's prime. The last ten years have without doubt been the best of my life. As a trials rider, i was 100% happy and excited to ride every single day. but without meaning to, i got drawn into bmx, which swiftly took over my life. The following years were every bit as good as the previous few, and possibly even better, but with injuries i was pulled out of bmx, tried to get away from wheels for a time, with fishing (?!) but was quickly pulled back to wheels, this time with engines. 4 years down the line i'm on the verge of entering my third year of racing motorbikes, where i will be in a national televised championship, after some great successes, several championships and moments that i'm really proud of, which all stated with a £400 Monty X-Stam from a lawnmower shop all those years ago. I've just bought an mx bike and have my first race on Saturday too. I never would've imagined things to play out like they have. I've had some terrible injuries over the years, from losing 5 teeth, breaking jaws, pallets and noses, to breaking feet, wrists, elbows, dislocations, shattered knuckles, countless concussions, and knee reconstructions. If i'd known that was all going to happen, i'd probably have been too scared to ride, but every single one of them injuries had a thousand great memories attached to them and i'd do it all again given half a chance. Not sure how to round this up, because i'm not sure why i'm even typing it all! I guess if i had a glass, i'd raise it to trials, this forum, my mates, and everyone on here who i've spent time with and ridden with for all these years. Thanks for the great times. All you young'ns, i hope you throw yourslef into riding as much as i did and get the feelings i still get today, with all the memories and enjoyment i've had. It's been the best years of my life and long may it continue. To fallen riders, good times, Trials-forum and friends, thank you. Bongo
  8. Something Corporate - Konstantine. Or for completely different reasons, The Postal Service - Such Great Heights
  9. Thanks guys, appreciate the help. I presume i'm right in thinking that i am no doubt under estimating how cold it's gonna be???!!! I got lots of good layers as i've always been into walking etc, so that's no problem. I didn't buy a jacket as i don't want to spend the money... I do have base layers though and planning on wearing a Buffalo and hoodie, and got a Berghaus, as well as a water/wind proof jacket that's eerily similar to a boarding jacket as far as i can tell, so that's all sorted. Got some decent gloves yesterday too, and some pants for £45 which seem pretty decent. Plenty decent enough for me for a week anyway... Also gonna lend another pair off a mate so i don't have to wear the same all week. Got beanies but gonna buy another hat tomorrow, and got neck tubes already. Plenty of socks and i'm sorted. Can't wait to make some yellow snow!!!
  10. I'm off to Geneva on Sunday to a fre week of snowboarding. With no knowledge, or interest(!) I'm keen to hear what you lot have to say. I'm sure many have been... http://www.outdoorgear4u.co.uk/category/ski-wear/ This place is local to me, it's the only place i know of. Upper body is ok, as are goggles, gloves and hats, but i need pants. Is it all shite in there or are there some bargains?? Does anyone know of other highstreet shops that i could go into to see a selection of pants?? Not keen on spending over £50 on pants, as racing season is coming up, and Spain in Mach, so this needs to be a cheap jolly. It's a one off, so won't be going again... Anything else too, let me know! I've done it a couple times on dry slopes, and yeah, i was dog dick, but it should be a lugh if my knee doesn't fall off... Bongo
  11. Well, it was a bit vistarish in look which intially i didn't like tonight, but i've quickly become to enjoy it It seems quite good. Lots of seemingly unimportant features that make it nice to use! Very happy after a whole 4 hours lol. To top it off, my XP blue tooth dongle didn't work when i attempted to install it, which pissed me off, but then did work when i just plugged it in anyway lol. Don't know how really, but it does! Bongo
  12. so in idiots guide style, what's some of the simpler differences to XP then?? I've had a look on wiki etc, but i don't understand much of computer jargon lol. Just had a look on youtube actually and fond a demo video of a few features.
  13. Apparently Pete Wright is testing Windows 8. I'm wondering why they're doing a Windows 8 now, when 7 is new...
  14. The only thing i'm worried about is that i NEED a bluetooth dongle in it, and i called digitalpromo.co.uk, which is local to me, and they said that there pretty much isn't anything that is "compatible with Windows 7" in their descriptions, so it's trial and error apparently. Do people know if XP compatible software tends to work on 7???
  15. So with the forum being the best place for no offence geeks (lol), what do people think of Windows 7... I'm picking up a laptop tonight with it on, all going well. Is it going to be another Vista?? I've always been happy with XP, and have home edition here on disc. Are people enjoying 7? Is it good? Bongo (It wouldn't let me search for it, hence the post)
  16. Thanks guys. Right, major question ow then as i've read good things about Windows 7... If i were to go to a shop, like say PC world, for example, and i said to them that i would be buying a windows 7 Laptop if they could download a program off a website to ensure it works, as it's a small, niché market motorbike racing datalogging program... Would they do it??
  17. Only other thing is i really could do with going to a highstreet Curry's/PC world kind of 'go in and pick' place, as i need it asap before i go to Spain! I've got some stuff to look at though now online and have a search. Thanks for helping mate. Last thing.... How bad is Vista?
  18. Sorry mate, it wasn't sarcasm. It basically is just that i want a bigger screen than 10" mate. The program i am to use on it is a datalogging/telemetry program where you overlay GPS plotted laps on top of each other and watch realtime laps showing RPM, speeds, line etc etc. A smaller screen like a netbook 10" jobbie would make this much more difficult. I would like 15ish really to make the job easier.
  19. I guess i want bigger purely to see the screen easier Ben.
  20. Right then... I am after a laptop asap, like ideally decide on a couple for Monday/Tuesday. I am after a new laptop, with XP, for around £300. It is pretty much only for when i go away racing so i can download the telemetry from the laptimer and use a simpe-ish program on there. It doesn't need a particularly huge hard drive really. It'll not be used for games either. There is so much choice, and so many places to go it's over whelming... I've missed the Aldi deal too. I'm after a decent size laptop, so i think netbooks are out??? If anyone happens to know somehting that may help i'd appreciate it Bongo
  21. Possibly an imperial size?
  22. Lol i know mate. £125 chain and a mate was selling it for £70 new, so it was too good to pass up, as i needed a chain anyway!
  23. Fastest honda on here i'll bet lol. Almost 750bhp per ton...
  24. Lol. I bloody miss bmx mate. More than anything... I did however make a video from the motorbikes tonight though so you can have alook at that instead
  25. I'm trying to track down a bmx video i made from about 4-5 years ago. It was called something like BMX-Up in arms It had a Killswitch engage intro song, then Jimmy Hendrix, and then a Foo Fighters song. Doncaster and Burnley skateparks with some foam pit stuff i think too. If you have it pleeeeeease please upload it and i'll DL it from there with Realplayer download manager. Many thanks, Bongo
