Is it a lithium battery? If it is a recent phone it almost certainly will be. In my other hobby, rc helicopters, lithium batterys are commonly used, and i have heared many stories of damaged lithium batterys exploding, one person i know had his shed burned down by one! You could try it, but when it is charging watch to see if it starts to swell, if it does run! ( and unplug the charger... )

Urgh, a naked trials rider with a drilled rim, not a nice thought...

I should get my pilots license this year so i can fly almost wherever i want with my bike! Oh, and the summer, i hate the cold...

Apparantly that pic isnt a lathe or grind, its done using a knurling tool, like rollers with criss crosses on it that you force the rim or whatever through. I like smooth rims, grinds are ghey and noisy imo...

Try it, but i think it will have little benefit and probably wreck your rim.

Did you do that in paint? Dont mean that in a bad way or anything, just wondering cos the lines around the flowerbed things make it look like it is. I think it would look really cool if everything except the rider was cartoon.
