never ridden in southport but i've seen riders there normally ride in liverpool, looks nice to ride though

(Y) go with goodridge or hope braided hoses as normal hoses are braided on the inside anyway, the goodridge and hope ones are i suppose the best hoses money can buy at the moment and can't be that heavy as xc and d/h and 4x riders use them :P :P :P
