  1. lol yer agreed there all down gaps but i find them much more fun than the average flat gap as with down gaps you have starting height which enables you to gain more distance making it more fun and exciting i find. pallet to pallet aka flat gap this is the only picture of a flat gap i have... http://i29.photobucket.com/albums/c282/jer...dgappeoples.jpg
  2. in theory, yes! in reality, who knows ive never heard of this being done... personally i would if i wanted to and i think zona's are a long way off from snapping so...GO FOR IT and tell us the result after a few weeks
  3. shinnys look rather bulky, but if they make you feel safe and do a decent job of keeping you safe then there fine the helmet isnt a personal favourite but thats me. So if you think its a good fit and will stop you (in the most extreme case) ending up in a wheelchair then thats fine too i think looks play a role, but it shouldnt dominate your opinion on a helmet well done for purchasing both hope they help as you progress, but its silly buying them then asking an opinion , maybe a lil more thought next time wouldnt go a-miss
  4. im 14 ive been riding for 1 year my average static gap i can do is, ermm , well i dont know eactly but i imagine bout 9ftish, you can judge heres a couple: http://i29.photobucket.com/albums/c282/jer...der/curbgap.jpg http://i29.photobucket.com/albums/c282/jer...dgappeoples.jpg http://i29.photobucket.com/albums/c282/jer...er/DSCF0122.jpg
  5. warming up:gapping , and bein early and excitied for a good dayz ride managed to slip my front foot off the pedal as i landed and got a shin full of pedal mind u i shood b glad i havent managed to face plant anything as of yet like sum people previously...
  6. yer, il make a note off it sumwhere obvious (maybe my door ) then sum when nearer the time il get a number off you so we can meet up + all the other jersey riders. Good riding jersey ul enjoy it i think, sumthing for every level, n gd weather round then (touch wood) hope ta cya next year...
  7. woow very noice early christmas pressy ...gu's are uber sweet , wish i had the money . Talking money, how much did that all set u back !?!?
  8. I myself are in the same situation :( . I can have either: onza "belly" bash £19 + echo cranks £55 + white industries fw £80 + onza fixed cog £10 = £164  or exsisting middleburns + profile £165 + mutiny spokes £10 + wheelbuild £10 = 185  or " " + echo 72ep tooth (when it comes out) £120 + mutiny spokes £10 + wheelbuild £10 = £140 and ive decided to go for the second option, the profile etc, just because of their excellent reputation and reliability :o and the fact its christmas so money shouldnt be a problem  and the uber sound of a profile does come into it little :- so i say go with the profile :o
  9. im a nob for saying dis but... :S why dont you get out riding, push yourself then you wont be bored and want to change your bike, bike colour! :- :)
  10. well it might annoy simon but... heres the best site to check out the channel islands riders http://www.freewebs.com/cibike/index.htm yes its another freewebs site, but its just reconition of our riding acheivements :S and insight to other riders
  11. "emo" is news to me, i gather the other term is goth and thats the name assoiated/given to sad, depressed, greasy, black haired, loud rockers in my area. But really i get along with most of them cos Jersey is a small lil island and if you speak to them then you find they are "sound" (and the really nice ones pay for your bus :) ) haha oh yes there are fit "emo" girls! one on my bus home :S fahook umm. I go to school with a few emos, few chavs, few riders and a few misfits but i still get along with all the groups. Sterotyping people i think is ok, aslong people/groups dont try to have advantages (bully) over different groups ( :cough: chavs ), thats not nice. At the end of the day there "kids avin fun".
  12. in 1 year: an orange zero frame 2 shimano bbs 1 05 echo booster  1 set of onza vp pedals 1 kmc chain :) 1 acs claws freewheel 1 magura tpa cracked a d521 rim cracked an old t-mag (the white one) cracked sum old tuf guys cross threaded a t-master stem and thats all that come to mind straight away , had the same dmr grips 4 a year though :D lol
  13. Echo , RB are top boosters :- You possibly might be able to pick one up in the for sale/wanted. Have a browse on www.tartybikes.co.uk :P but a standard Magura booster still improves braking btw B)
  14. I take it your buying a whole new bike :- correct ? :P well anyways if you are then an onza t-mag is ok for the price and will stand up to quite reasonable abuse :P but there still £500 and for that price you can definatly get an awesome second hand bike just reguarly browse the forsale/wanted section on here ! If im incorrect ;), then the zona zip frame is where your money should be . Both the bike and the frame can be found at supercycles or tartybikes , personally tartybikes are by far the better dealer as supercycles are renoundly slow at delievery. Hope this helps you ;)
  15. £65 !!! Thats awesome for an 04 ti monty ;) id say go for the monty for that price aslong as its in good cond ;) otherwise go for the zona :P xtps are great if you like a great looking rigid bike but unless your smooth and dont tend to bash/dent downtubes then i wouldnt buy it there hasnt been to much good publicity on xtps , they seem to be snapping n cracking alot lately. When they do snap you can really see that the are made up of coke cans lol :P
  16. So if your just getting into the swing of trials again then ... for forks i would recommend Onza Tuff guys :P there a great "budget option" they will last a reasonable amount of time aslong as you dont ride the stupidly roughly which i dont think is going to be a problem ;) and as for a hub , hope xc :- there super , looks and reliabilty ! Some peoples hubs will skip because of lack of maintainace , simply cleaning the freehub and pawls etc lil bits with a toothbrush will keep it running smooth. I myself have switched from stock 26" to mod 20" so i do have a blue hope xc in very good almost mint working condition :D if your interested in it i can sell it £40 posted ? :P hope my lil ramble helps ;)
  17. yea im almost 100% sure Martin Ashton uses a try all booster , but this is not a fact ;)... im just saying because of pictures of him/bike you will see he runs a front Try All booster so i would say he runs a rear one aswell ;). Try All booster :P
  18. foning up hope is a gd idea :D so.... hope says "...definatly be on the shelves in january..." hope that helps :P as christmas pressy i dont think itl happen , but it would make sense for them to release the hub for christmas as there so popular
  19. Just incase u cant b bothered , or cant get anything off ebay it is possible to put evo mounts on 4bolts ;)without cross threading etc n it doesnt look as bad as ud think :P so u can give that ago...
