Obviusly grinding is 10x better but has disadvantage such as wearing down your pads and weakening your rim, but personaly i would go for it!

Ok, water indeed is by far the best feel for the leaver and power id say, and i cant see it damaging the seals ect if you use mineral bottled water, maybe tap water as its treated but then again, we drink it and it doesnt corrode our stomachs right? As soon as i can be assed i am changing the oil in my set up to water as personaly i hate the feel.. But if you dont want to use water id just stick to the 'royal blood'

Take it out, put it in a bowl of half boiled kettle water for about 5 mins then put it back in and try it.
