  1. Ok, thanks! I hope it will outlast... I asked this question, because when i first got the echo i was surprised, the quality of the material doesn't seem to be as good as White industries one. Especially the outer teeth and "bearings".... But now because of what you said, i'm more confident in it. Thanks.
  2. This one, another on www.richmondtrials.com and i think two other i don't remember were..... But i just saw your answer on OTN, and i think it does reply to my question.... As ENO freewheel is my "reference" in term of reliability (mine was 4/5years old an still going fine with even no wear out), Just for comparison, do you know/estimate that there are more failure with ENO freewheel for the same amount of sold echo freewheel?
  3. I'm cuurently running a echo SL 108 Ti freewheel and if i was sceptical before i tried it, It feels wonderful and so responsive. And i have to admit that i love it! But lately i've seen " a lot" of pictures of these echo sl with broken outer teeth. Does someone know how resistant they are? especially compared with ENO white industries freewheels (which are in my opinion quite indestructible) ?? Thanks!

I read somewhere that they received the spare parts with a lot of delay, so i think they mounted the bikes in a hurry. Anyway, the bikes are quite good compared to some other brands, but indeed, they don't seem very organized that include dealing. And they should communicate more around their products.
  5. I guess, smaller tire means less material, so lighter tire... Morover in my opinion it is not necessary to have a tire that big...it does not give any sort of improvement. It is just heavier (as above, 'i guess') , and hard to fit in a lot of frames. Rubber queen 2.4 was yet too big. I assume if they want to sell a lot of these they have to make it compatible with most of the frames. What rubber queen 2.2 does, or now try-all light.does. But they are the professionals, so i assume they know what they do... Moreover the front tire seems quite heavy when the actual mountain king or even speedking do the job. They could have just improve the compound of one of this tires, without putting any apex inside. Thus a pair of trial king/queen is heavier ( a little bit) than a pair of try-all....
  6. Bigger than a rubber queen 2.4, it is a shame. it is hard to fit rubber queen 2.4 in some frame already. They should have keep the size of the original 2.2 for this particular reason. Moreover the tire could have been way lighter that way! Or as someone said,, they should have take the original der kaiser and save weight somewhere... Is this the ultimate version of these tires or are they open to suggestion, for some improvements?
  7. You can take off a shim of the inside of the freewheel, and re-tight the lockring. I did this to mine, it does work fine, and there is no wobble at all anymore.
  8. If it doesn't bother you to ride at a "high pressure" (something like 2 bars), it is not a bad tire. This is what i do, and i haven't pinch at all, in about a year or so... It is not as grippy as some other tires. But it is quite good, and if you want lightweight tires you can't find lighter and ridable tire.
  9. That's probably why they call it hope trial. Because of the same specifications...
  10. This is on their "website": http://storage.canalblog.com/54/94/213440/53273488.jpg
  11. We are talking about Atomz bikes, not deng bikes or rockman bikes ;-) if you know what i mean... According to Atomz it is hope trial but a postmount version! So it is not so silly
  12. Cinsidering the fact that this rim works some of us. I can't figure it out why it couldn't work for him. Moreover coming from a try-all double wall rim and currently running a viz single wall rim, i haven't noticed any difference in term of stiffness in the lever feel. I don't say that single wall rim doesn't affect the stiffness of the rim, but it is negligible. And as i said before, if it works for me, it should work for him. My opinion it's not the rim. Maybe your pads are not bedded yet?
  13. it's weird, mine is perfect! The braking performance is just as good as it was with my "old" try all rim. With the same set-up...
  14. great brake pads! You can go for it. You will not be disappointed.
  15. I use this ViZ single wall rim (the stock version), with try-all brown pads and a trialtech carbon brake booster, i don't have any isssue with the braking performance. With medium grind, my braking is perfect.. I don't think that your braking issues come from the rim!!!
  16. It's hard to say, for several reasons. First one, i d'ont buy the fork with the frame, so the steerer is a bit too short for my, i'm 1m87 tall. So i'm a bit too much on the front of the bike, wich is not helping me with "flats moves", if you now what i mean. Moves on two wheels. So i currently tend to say, it's a bit log (i measure it at 1100mm). But with a longer steerer, with a 2cm spacer, maybe 3cm, i'll be more on the center of the bike. So i assume, that the fact that the bike feels not so much reactive on two wheel is more due to my "bad" position tahn to the long wheelbase. Moreover, a long wheelbase helps with some statics moves. So i don't think it's too long. I'll try it with a new fork, and i'll see if it's actual.
  17. I like it a lot! I use it with maxxis downhil tube. So tire + tube weight i think a bit less than a 850gr tire+ light tube. Being as puncture resistant.. But i confess, i have to ride it at about 2 bars (sorry don't know how many psi it does ) It's seems a bit "hard" at first, but once you get used to it, it feels precise and it ride well. For me, riding mostly natural, and only 20% street, it's a very good set up. That i can recomand! If you ride mostly street, maybe you'd better chose something else. It's i think quite a comp style set up. I decided to use this set up (speed king, with normal tube, and rubber queen 2.2 with dh tube) seeing giacomo riding it. An il like it a lot. I haven't puncture since a long time, only 3, or for times in a year. And two time due to thorn (in natural), because the sidewall is quite thin.
  18. Why? This tire is just fine for me. Maybe not the best but I really like it.. And it's pretty light.
  19. thanks, i like the bike and love the background too.
  20. My brand new Kortz. Pretty light, and it does ride very nice. Even, if i have some issues with the rear brake alignment and the tensionners.

  24. i'm not sure you can say that a 1.4kg frame is stronger than a 1.8kg frame. I'm not an engineer, but i assume there is a lot of parameter to take in consideration. But in my mind, a 1.4kg frame can be as strong as a 1.8 frame, depending of the shapes of the tubing, and the material used. But it worth for a frame with no dents. Because dents will decrease a lot more a lightweight frame with thin tubing than a "heavy" frame". Thaht's why lightweight frames are not for street riding, or bashers. I you want to ride this king of frame hard you have to accept to change it more often....i guess.
