  1. Seems nobody really knows then... I was told theyre all the same hardness :ermm: Weren't yellows meant to be the softest? Or are they getting hardness/softness and wear resistance mixed up? Edit: http://www.trials-forum.co.uk/forum/index....ndpost&p=548334
  2. What sort of values are we talking about Steve? Can't say i've ever looked into that :ermm: Have you tested differing compounds of the same hardness? I found compound to make a great difference in performance once a satisfactory hardness had been found.
  3. Well, I really enjoyed it, and so did my GF. Down to personal preference I guess...

    My New Ride

I think psychological factors may have helped a small amount there :ermm: Bike looks good mate :P Keep the setup as it is for a while, you'll get used to it. You may find front bumping helps with the backwheeling :P
  5. Please remember that softness and wear resistance are two totally seperate things... You can have a soft pad, that takes ages to wear... or a hard pad, that wears fast. It is the compound that dictates how grippy/wear resistant a brake pad is. Grip and wear resistance are generally a trade-off.
  6. Nah, theyre just using different colour pigment, so people can colour co-ordinate their bikes... Which in turn gives different properties. As for the Tarty ones - haven't got time to make any  Hoping to look into better production methods, like Steve... we're about half way there at a guess...
  7. Not 'originally'... it only came about after a phone conversation between myself and Steve, after Id used some of his pads...
  8. Cheng Shin - Maxxis = same thing. Best tubes i've used. Have spoken to Nick on MSN, gonna sort something out...
  9. Haha :S Its the sort of thing you get used to though, I guess... just, like you, I have a nice disc, so I dont need to get used to the pain! My first suggestion would be a smidge of tar, or a light grind... should improve performance noticeably.
  10. What is the setup? My mate has normal HS33 with koxx brown bloxx on a smooth rim, set up perfectly, and it makes my finger hurt after only a few seconds. Im just saying that, even though it is set up perfectly, a slight tweak in the brake's constituent parts may be all your finger needs...
  11. Technique change would benefit you in that case  And help prevent arm pump.
  12. What about improving the brake's performance, so you dont have to pull so hard?

    Spoke Help

Use the same as what the calc gave you
  14. Crap! Just deleted 2 of your threads... and left one... which you now edited :) Sorry! :"> Hopefully there's some sort of backup? (Y)
  15. Should be at least a couple of us there... we've found some new stuff to ride, gonna check it out properly. Its a bit mossy/slimy, but quite a lot to do (Y) Let me know if anyone fancies it, and i'll sort you out with directions. Gonna aim to get there at about 12:30ish. Cheers, Adam
  16. Re-painted Kenny Belaey...
  17. Yep, Onza Woodstock (basically). He's now riding for Mongoose though, he was riding it at the show today. Tis a prototype Tensile Fixed rear hub. Standard freewheel, yep  Sounds about right to me :- Without the price tags. Tis Danny's signature frame, so, unlikely to be a short frame available. Exactly. Theres a few small changes pencilled in as well at the moment, including: Standard headtube. 1 piece CNCd chainstay yoke and BB shell. 73mm BB shell (no more BB spacers, better tyre clearance). Possibility of internally routed cables. More work in the top yoke. Weight is approx 1.95kg, 2kg was their target. The tubeset is very similar to that of the Woodstock - it is, after all, a UCI comp frame... I'll try and get some decent pics tomorrow :D
  18. Thats because one has a higher maximum stress, Andy!
  19. I didn't know babelfish had a Chinese option!
  20. 4 bolt brake sets dont usually come with boosters, though.
