some people with mild Aultism ect can deal with main stream schools but i think trying to intergrate EVERY child with leaning difficulties of any sort is just way to extreme. Tomm

Thats what i started this thread for TOmm and i didnt not exspect to get this many replies i didnt expect to get any replys at all. I have only ever met one other lad with a aultistic brother and he was at my collage doing carpentry, still see him now. I didnt know so many people were aware of it but its pretty nice to know that quite a lot of people do know about this condition and i hope this thread makes them think of how aultism effects people who are close to them like families carers teachers ect and that they will just show some respect to these people which yo will be supprised at how many people dont. Sorry if that sounded all gobbeldy gook. And on another note just to have a quick rant, I dont know if any of you have seen or heard but politicians or some one like that thinks that all specialist unit school for people with Aultism, Asperger's, Downsyndrome, seribal pause (SP?) ect ect should all me introduced into main streem school and that they should learn to live and work in main streem schools. I am not being funny but this man needs to be shot!!! How can he expect people with learning difficulties to learn in mainsteem schools where they will most likely be ridiculed and outkasted for some thing wihich is not their faulght. he also says he wants to cut back on learning difficulties staff as he said it is not fair for some kids to get more attention that otheres. But i am sorry this is probably the biggest load of crap i have ever heard. Would just like to know your veiws. Tom

  12. The top 10 unintentionally worst company URLs Attn: Entrepreneurs Everyone knows that if you are going to operate a business in today's world, you need a domain name. It is advisable to look at the domain name selected, as other's see it and not just as you think it looks. Failure to do this, may result in situations such as the following (legitimate) companies who deal in everyday humdrum products and services, but clearly didn't give their domain names enough consideration: 1. A site called 'Who Represents' where you can find the name of the agent that represents a celebrity. Their domain name… wait for it… is www.whorepresents.com 2. Yes! thats pretty much spot on to how i would describe people with aultism and their veiws towards other people they have never met before, people like parents brotheres sisters relations teachers ect are treated a little diffrently but not much. My brother does not have anyproblem mixxing with people, he could walk up to a complete stranger in the street and start talking TO them, they wouldnt care if they were listning to him but he would be more than happy to talk to them. Another thing i wish i had is the way he says what he feels, "wow your ugly!" "yeh shut up not your borring me" and the like, he is also learning to swear which is pretty hillarious to say the least, the way he does it has me in fits. This is one thing i have NEVER stood for and NEVER will, i have had a full on brawl with many random people over sly comments passed. one was with his bus driver that drove him to school when he said " christ ive wanted to hit that retard a fair few times over th last week" To which he recived a fist through the cab window then followed kindly by my dad. he was son after fiered and had some form of banning order put on him. Also get a few from local old men ect to which i tell them if they were 50 years younger they would be dead and another one was with a smug twat on the motor way who wrote "wheres the crayon munchers cage" on a peice of paper and held it up to the window to which he recived a few stamps and kicks on the hard shoulder of the M25. My brother also has OCD which i have also had aswell for about 2-3 years but i have met quite a few people with this. i think they show OCD in "As good as it gets" pretty well. I also find that if can strongly effect your personal life by constantly having to have some thing in a certain place or having to walk up and down the stairs every other 10 minutes (you might be laughing but i used to have to do it). Tom

Bill a old member on here (yes he is still around and riding for those of you who used to speak to him) used to drive a transit around untill it got nicked. Escort vans have a bit of poke aswell. Tom

I found it harder to grow up with my brother, i take it you are older like me? I thought i was pushed to one side whilst my brother was growing up because he constantly needed attention (not that this bothered me because i could get on with my own thing) BUt did you find this aswell? I have also found that that this makes you grow up a lot more quickly. I am only 15 but have a mega obsesion with cars (minis especialy) and own 2 (not saying that this makes me adult like or nowt). i have also been told that i have slight symptoms of aultism, not many but very slughtly. A few years ago i could not go to sleep unless everything was in its designated place and if it wasnt there i could not go to sleep. Now i have got a thing with going places who is there what they are doing and the like its pretty alkward to exsplain so i wont go into it but i also find it very hard to talk (unless its over a pc (A) ) and get my feelings out. I also agree on the film sniz. the kid in mercuary rising had severe aultism and you rarely meet children with aultism that sevier (sp?) but you cannot base your belives of aultism on this. You need to meet some one with aultism nefore you can start judging and saying what they are like. On the 24 hour carring joe, the same is with by brother and he will jhave to be cared for all of his life, he will never be able to live on his own have a serious relation ship or hold down a proper job. so when my mum hits the deck i will be looking after him. He could probably live in a bungalow at the end of the garden or some thing so if he did need any help he was only a push of a button away and he could be easily checked up on. Some times sittuations you think they would act strangely about , they dont wihich is very strange. Like my dad has recently left but it does not seem to phase him in the slightest when we thought he would be the one who suffered most, do it is a wierd thing to suffer from but i wouldnt say they are missing out on anything because from what i see of my brother he has as much fun as anyone else does and is probably a lot happier than all of us put together!! Tom

The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night was writen by a 13 year old boy with aultism who was told he was stupid, he told his parents who said of course you are not and suggested that he wrote a bookwhich gave himself some self confidance to assure him he is not stupid. Ditto on the rainman, some things he does can relate to aultism but then again other things he did a aultistic person would never do. Tomm's pretty much on the right tracks here. where did you find out about this tomm? Tom

no aultism isnt the lads and lasses that fall behind in class, this is part of aulism but this is part of ADHD Attention deficit hyperactivity disorder which strongly effects the attntion and concen tration of kids, there is another name for it but io forget what its called. Yes its true aultistc kids are brainy fecks but they have a very short concentration span and they cannot comunicate what they feel, think or want. My brother can dray the british iles spot on free hand, could take you from spain to australia via back streets ect. My brother has a thing with numbers, combinations and locations. Aspberger kids are a bit diffrent but still very coll if you give them a chance. there is one at my brothers school who doesnt speak and grits his teeth when he breeths non stop and he is a legend. You really do have to give these kids a chance, give them a chance and they arent what you expect at all!! alot of people class them as 'tards and just riddicule which i tihnk is a bit harsh. I tihnk its because they are scared of them or some thing. Downsyndrome kids are very heavy handed but are still loverly people to know. Tomm Quick edit: Yeh aultistic kids are usually facinated by certain subject like my brother is obsesed with Futurama and simpsons etc, he could read you word for word each episode and also tell you what episode, series and episode just by telling him the number of the episode. Aultism ranges from mild to serious to very bad. Very bad casses they cant talk dont do nothing all day to very mild where they could easily comunicate but just chose not to now and again. My brother is in the middle, when he was younger we thought he was going to have very serious aultism but he is learning to get on with it now.

Hey I was just woundering what people knew about aultism and that, I used to think that it was a pretty uncomon thing as my brother had it and i always thought it would be hard to introduce him to friends and the like but i think a lot more people are becoming aware of this condition evry day. I would just like to know about your exsperiances of aultism and what you think of it as i think i will be pretty suprised as to how many people are aware of the condition. I have a brother with aultism, he is 13 this year and absoloutley every one who has meet him has loved him. He doesnt aultism to bad but his comunication skils are poo and he also suffers from ADHD some forms of asberges and the like but he is getting better. Just thought i would like to bring this up because i have been woundering what peoples veiws were like on the subject and thought that this would be the best way to find out. Tom
