  1. wayne-king run's echo pure forks on his koxx 1100, rides quite well.
  2. Can't see them being a big seller (Y)
  3. My bike weighed in at 28lb, thats quite hefty for a trials bike i rekon, i mean, i knew it was heavy, but thats rediculous. My last bike weighed in at 22lb, which was very light for a 26" (Y)
  4. I'm running a halfords tube in the rear of my trials bike with no problems, so i see no reason as to why it should not hold up to bmx. They have strong tires, and high presure, it should all be good. (Y)
  5. Looks like the juicy 7 but lacking the "tpa" style bit on the lever...
  6. wayne-king used to have one of them, but it lost all its power when he put goodrige hosing on it, so i couldn't really remember what it performed like... I think when i make the move the juicy 7 will serfice.
  7. You have obviously had different experiences with hubs to me, but I can honestly say that my hope feels more solid than my king did. This doesn't make king's worse than hope's. But my personal preference was to go back to my hope. On my bike, in the way i ride it, the hope xc feels much better than my king did, apart from the engagement, obviously you can't compare 21ep to 72, but once you are used to pre-loading your hub its not noticable. I have never had since going back to my hope it has never skipped, which is something i can't say about the king, although even when that did skip it was 1 point, and you couldn't feel it. I have ridden both hub's, and i have got a preference which is different to yours, accept it, not all people like the same as you, This does not mean however, that i am talking out my arse.
  8. I used to run a hope, then i bought a king, decided it was a waste of money, it had a steel drive shell, and a standard axle, yes, it has got very good engagement, but really, once you are used to pre-loading your pedals, you really don't need it. Having the king did nothing to effect my riding, and i'm now back on my hope which actually feels more solid than the king ever did. :P
  9. Where would i go to get my rim chromed? and what would i do when they put a river section in a comp? (Y)" Alot of people seem to be pushing towards the avid juicy 7, which i think i may well look into after i have paid off my car insurance, for now maybe the heatsink pads will have to be purchaced. Cheers for all the help people.
  10. That they have, but i don't think they "clip" together at the ends like the fly tubes, so people often found there was an empty spot in the tire...
  11. Try riding something like DMR V12 mags with ti axles, and then swapping them for onza shindigs... i think you will probably feel the difference in weight. I run shindigs, and i deffinatly noticed the weight on the first ride, but was then used to it after that. If the lighter parts are available, at affordable prices, then why not get them?! they still have the strength needed... BONUS! (Y)
  12. to start with the LX v might feel supurb, but then the pivots with develope play in them. it will start to feel mushy, and will not give the performance you need. you will also suffer from cable stretch. If you want to try out a v on the rear, then i would say get one which doesnt have the pivot system on it.
  13. yes it does... did you get your maths correct?
  14. Yes, it works out that every number u get will be a multiple of 9, and each multiple of 9 has the same pic...
  15. it's ok people, my sister has has worked it out... she will tell you for £3 :o"
  16. how do these stupid things work? I have tried a couple and they seem to work just about 100% of the time... annoying game thingy You can pay $5 to find out how it works, but i'm not that sad
  17. Would that be better than say... an Avid juicy 7?
  18. Right, at the moment I'm running an Avid SD7 with an XTR lever, and it's poop, It basically needs a clean and it will be ok again, but i was riding my mates bike the other day and his disk was supurb. I'm concidering getting a magura louise, but to do so I would have to send my forks back to leeson to have a mount welded on. My other option would be to grind my rim, and get some heatsink V pads to go with my current set-up, has anybody tried this on the front? does it work well? Also, with the disk, if thats what is advised, what is the most popular at the moment? my friend lousie feels better than any other disks i have felt, but am open to ideas of a similar price. Cheers, Alex.
  19. so does that mean a king hub, which has got 72ep, when run with an 18:12 ratio would give you 108 engagements? and when run with a 22:18 ratio (most stock bikes?) it has 88 engagements? As far as i know, you can't increase the amount of hooks on a ratchet by using a different gear ratio?! :P"
  20. hey, there are three of us going on a road trip this week, we may be able to make that, we want to ride the glen... could one of you lovely locals please let me know if there are any cheapo camping spots near by? :)" Cheers, Alex.
  21. My girl friend, I just got a new phone. :'(
  22. around 25 rear, a little softer in the front? enough so that I don't rim out, but i get some nice bounce (Y)
  23. could you not get one without the rechargeable batteries, and get rechargeable AAA's? thats what I'll be getting for mine when my duracels run out... (Y)
  24. Listen to this man! I have just made the move from a King classic, back to a hope xc, and its not effected my riding one bit. The Hope hub's are more than good enough for trials, just get the internals looked at :turned:
  25. You should look at the rover 25, as they hae just gone down the pan you can pick up an almost new one with all the mod-con's for relatively small money :- Skoda Fabia's are meant to be a good car... I'm driving a 1.8L ford mondeo, and although very comfortable to drive, it does drink alot of fuel, I think it's around 32ish Mpg, with general mix of driving types. I'm going to cornwal on monday, so will work out actual Mpg then :D
