  1. hehe, sorry, but i thought from what you said that you might be able to afford a new bike... (Y)
  2. They were around when kool stop's were THE pad for trials because of its emmense grip :) Old Skool! :S they will be ok for spares, but dont expect anything spectacular :P
  3. how is it stronger? there has been one pitbul snap... maybe there have been more pitbul's than controls, so the faulty control hasnt been bought yet... :S
  4. get a leeson? you could get one with say a 1045 wheel base, could suit you nicely. echo pure? you might have to get it secondhand though...
  5. Good, thanks... B) my steed, back when it was new...
  6. I get it, in my upper back. i put it down to my bike being too short and making me hunched... (excuse to get a new bike (Y) )
  7. It feels light a flicky, meaning it is easy to put exactly where you want it when you are riding a section. The bike will be just as at home on the street. Don't think that because it will be a very good comp bike, it wont be any good on the street. I think Revel have done a good thing with this frame, it is equally at home in both sorts of riding :P
  8. DTT echo team's revel is very nice to ride, although it is short, t does not feel like a short bike. It is very easy on the back wheel. but at the same time, it feels very light to ride, making it very flicky for doing the spinny stuff. I would say it's an excelent comp frame (look at chris donney)
  9. ALLORNOWT only signed up to T-F to ask one simple question about the new style of frames, he said that in an earlier post. Why did everybody (MrMonkey) feel the need to abuse him as soon has the chance arrose? Does it really matter that much if our spelling/ puntuation is not spot on all the time? so long as it is easy to read, and people can easily understand what is being said, where's the problem? I myself have not had any problems reading any of the posts in this topic, and don't really see why anybody else should/ would have. When we were at school we all would have learnt the fanetic(sp?) alphabet, this is how text talk works, you just have to sound out the words, its probably more simple than our "proper" language. Just my 2p Anyway, back on topic. The new generation of frames will be easier for doing competitions on, and doing the "big moves", but they will not be so good for doing spinny tricky bits. Best bet would be to ride a few peoples bikes at the next comp or something like that, see what you like. you also mentioned your height possibly being a factor; I'm 6ft2, and i ride a fairly short leeson, which is lovely, but i am planning on selling it, due to it not really suiting the type of riding i'm no doing, and i'm also finding that after a day of riding, the top of my back is aching because of the way i hunch up on the bike. so it'l be a long bike for me, in the not so distant future :P Hope this helps, well, if you havent decided not to check back here because of the way you recieved such un-needed advice :)
  10. Around 8mm, and they always look like mud tires when new, especially if you only get two changed, so the other two are still rather warn :)
  11. I tried that, and apparently it is a very unusual size, which they didnt have. Adam has given me a part number, which i might be able to put to good use though :D
  12. thats excelent, I will go back to the bearing suppliers, who couldnt help me before, and see if the code helps :D cheers very much (Y)
  13. This is a review i did of my american classic hub a while back. If you read the topic, you will see that I had problems with one of the bearings shattering. I got in contact with both super cycles (phone), and american classic (unfortunatly only through e-mail, as my parents didnt want me phoning america) but i never managed to get the hub fixed. If I could get hold of a new bearing for it, I would almost certainly go back to it over my hope xc which i am running now. (Y) Good hub's I think mine was just a one off...
  14. I like that idea, both convienient, and cheapo... one thing that I couldnt see on the site though (i'm probably blind, because I'm pretty sure they would state it) how is it delivered? What sort of containers does it come in? and who is it delivered by?
  15. My MP3 player had £24.99 postage. I got it for 1p though, so £25 for something that in the shops is £40-£50... bargain :$
  16. Is that not the 2005 one?
  17. I use gloves, I just find that my hands sweat too much not to use them. I don't no about keeping my hands warm though, in the winter my hands will go blue even through my gloves :S
  18. sorry, you changed it. lol. Asda is underwritten by norwich union which is why it is cheapo
  19. I think this could be in the wrong forum?! best bet for insurance is to shop arround, super markets are good, as is norwich union.
  20. Mavic XM 719, hope xc, avid juicy 7, sorted <_< Unless you would prefer a wider rim...
  21. (Y) he has no insurance, it was never re-newed :-
  22. Well said. I have Truvativ cranks to get the ball rolling unless they cn be beaten... I had two bikes stolen from me when i used to do a paper round. 1 of them i left at the end of a garden, delivered the paper, came back, no bike... The second, i had two guys (18year olds ish, when i was about 14), physically take the bike from me. I put up a gd fight, but i was never going to win... It sucks when it happens, and it always happens to good people :) mainly because the bad people are the ones doing it, so it can't really happen to them :(
  23. I think that must be the difference then, because i took out my policy when i was learning, so i had a provisional for 6 months, then I had a Full UK license and pass plus, so i guess they dont think that i'm as gd at driving as i would be if i started with the pass plus. :)
