Why don't you just buy some decent brake pads and not really bother with adding anything to your rim all the time? Get some heatsink yellows or something like that and never look back... I ride with them on the rear and don't even need tar or anything like that, my rim only has a grind from when I had standard black pads on the rear. The hold and bite is epic
