slammin_vinyl Posted September 23, 2008 Report Share Posted September 23, 2008 yeah i wud say go for the GU, i dont rate the small companys that well, my point of view is spend the extra cash and go for a company that actually spends money on R+D. koxx, echo etc spend more money on developing a frame than GU is worth as a brand.i dont think theres much wrong with the new skl companys but the saying "used by generations trusted through time" is a good way to look at it. A few of my mates had GU's 20'' and 26'' and both of them prefer to ride street and have bashed them up quite bad and they still are strong. the part between the top and bottom part of the frame makes it strong but because it has holes in it, it makes it quite light.
