Single speed is a laugh and is ultimately a stronger set up, and easier to keep up together. But finding the right ratio for you can be a bit costly and can take a few rides. I was tempted to get a single speed just because i liked the thought of them. But then realized i have a f**k off hill to get up on the way home from work and i couldn't warrant spending £500 on a bike I'd have to walk half way home. Mr Motivator Posted January 25, 2009 Report Share Posted January 25, 2009 I used to walk to the train station, it was ok.Then I used to ride my old BMX with one gear to the train station, that was faster.Then I rode my old XC bike with 21 gears to the train station, that was an improvement over the BMX, tenfold.Now I walk.Point of this story; get the bus.
