Choice Of Stem And Bars

Hi, I'm looking for a new stem/bars combo and was thinking about a Trialtech Sport Forged stem and Sport Riser bars. The V!Z Pro720 bars seem nice too though, so I'd like a little feedback from people that have tried them. My bike is a Gu Le 08, 1085 mm WB and I am about 6 ft tall. Thanks!

Pretty good choice of stem, and with those bars you can't really go wrong with whichever pair you go for. The Sport bars are pretty awesome, as are the Pro720s - having said that, the Trialtechs are a bit wider so you've got a bit more of a choice in terms of how wide you want to cut them down, and they are a tenner cheaper...

I was in the same position a couple of months ago. Here's what I think: the viz bars are a bit higher so it makes your "front" feel a bit "higher" too. therefore it depends on your frame/stem set-up and your personal taste (whether you prefer a higher or lower front). They're also lighter and look better in my opinion. Nevertheless I went for the trialtech bars, because I have never heard anything bad about them. Also they're cheaper and were easier to get (at least for me). I use them with a 120mm/25° stem. they feel good and stiff and have improved my riding immediately!! Overall I think these are both excellent handlebars.

p.s. the new rockman bars looking good too! :)

Actually they aren't, both bars have a rise of 88mm.

(check the 'Geometry' at the bottom)

The V!Z bars are lighter as they are narrower, they don't need as much beef in the centre to keep them strong (Y)

Yeah, I know what you mean but because the Trialtech bars are that bit longer, I think it brings their overall height at the tip to about the same. Different positions of their bends and so on can make bars look totally different too.

not long changed the bar and stem on my bike to the v!z forged stem 150mm 30 rise and twinned it with the pro 720 bars and its made one hell of a diffence to my riding, i feel as if ive got more control over the bike can hop further and get up bigger stuff

V!Z ALL THE WAY!!
